What a fantastic experience! Our meal at Willow went even beyond our expectations. John and Doug the chefs, were excellent hosts, and we enjoyed how each course, paired with either a wine menu, beer menu or non-alcoholic menu, were thoughtfully described, and explained. You sit at a curved counter with only 10 diners total. It's an evening of gastronomic delights, interesting conversations and new discoveries. Much thought is put into the taste, texture and combinations of each plate, including the beverage pairings and you can sit back and relax as you are in really good hands! Portions were generous as well as delicious, and we left very full and happy! We will most certainly be back - it's a very special place. We highly recommend it.

Every dish that we tried was really amazing! It’s very apparent that they are very meticulous when coming up with the menu. The price point is very affordable for what you get!

One of the better dining experiences I've ever had! The food, wine, and delivery was amazing. The fixed price is a steal for what you get. Only improvement that could be made is it did get a little warm as it was a hot day and mid meal cooking heat. Eventually the fans and AC were able to keep up but other than installing a new HVAC system in the old house they have a pretty good set up that kept a good temperature for the majority of the meal. Looking forward to coming back again and again.

Great place for a special dinner! Some of the most interesting dishes we've ever tasted... My wife's favorite course was the corn chowder while mine was the melon & cucumber (Aug 2019 menu). Plus the pan roasted chicken may have been the best non-fried chicken I've ever had!!! Will definitely recommend to family and friends.
Delicious and innovative six course meal served counter top by owners/chefs in a Eastside house. Ten persons per each of the two seatings. Summer menu centered on vegetables and fruit with poke and chicken as the main protein course. The combination of ingredients are original and one can taste different flavors at different corners of the plate. Non alcoholic pairings are especially ingenious with various flavors for distinct dishes. Service is fun and informative with friendly ambiance. Price is so reasonable one can hardly believe how good the dinner is for that amount. They also charge menu every month, definitely warrants rerun visits.
Fantastic and intimate evening. Loved hearing the description and backstory of each dish and the decision with each pairing. A truly unique experience that I would recommend to anyone - a foodie or not!

Had a terrific experience at Willow. The food was delicious, and the owners John and Doug provided excellent service. I'm a vegetarian and they easily accommodated me. This was a great way to enjoy a tasting menu in Portland for a reasonable price that went above and beyond our expectations.
A great evening celebrating our anniversary. John and Doug go out of their way to make it memorable. The food was thoughtfully prepared with so many incredible layers of flavor. The wine pairings were equally well conceived. We will be back! My only negative comments would be around ambience- it was a bit too warm and they need to figure out a way to control the temperature in the eating area - no easy task given the age and structure of the building. As well, some of the music choices were not to my liking. In such an intimate setting where you want the focus to be on the food and the diners’ experience with it, the music should be background at best. But I repeat- we will be back and hope to bring friends!

Not hard to write a good review for this restaurant. It has become our favorite in the Portland area. We have been there six times in the last couple of years. Plan ahead - they book up about two months in advance unless you get lucky and hit a time when someone has cancelled. Check Willow out - I can guarantee you will be "wowed"!
One of the best tasting menus I have done in PDX. I loved the intimacy of the meal as well as the pairings. Truly a delightful experience.
We loved every dish! Everything was well thought out and planned to the smallest detail, which was greatly appreciated. John and Doug are marvelous chefs bringing to life the subtle textures, smells and tastes of each dish, their wine and non-alcoholic pairing was aslo very spectacular. We are looking forward to the next time we are able to dine at their table once again.
Exceeded my best expectations on all things!
First visit and it was wonderful. Only reason I gave food four instead of five stars is because there was a mushroom and squash course and I'm not fond of either. That being said I did try both and that were very good for my taste.
In a city full of terrific food, this is a singularly exceptional dining experience.

We so enjoyed spending the evening with John and (Doug?) and eating their amazing food! I learned a lot about the food and my foodie husband was beyond thrilled with the ramps dish. Our only complaint was that there was TOO MUCH food! Ha!
I enjoyed the atmosphere at the restaurant. I would like to recommend the seating arrangement be re-arranged so that the circulation of the air conditioner is re-directed and doesn't hit your guest in the back. One of the guests had to leave to get fresh air because dust was ventilated directly at that person.
Other than this the dining experience was awesome. Thank you for the experience --- we are returning patrons. Keep up the great service and locally inspired affordable entrees.
