Great selection of beverages and food (with veggie options - Beyond Sausage). The atmosphere can be energetic in the evenings, but I guess that’s what beer halls are known for!

Our most recent visit was on a Saturday afternoon, so it had a more chill and relaxed vibe.

We really enjoy coming here.

Bring on the gluten! :) We thoroughly enjoyed Willkommen!

It’s open till 11 — a great addition to the handful of restaurants in the Castro that keep late-night hours — with a happy hour from noon to 2.

The space is spacious and comfortable. The long tables easily accommodate larger groups — a plus for the Castro, where it can be tough to seat a party of 6 or more.

The menu has a wide selection of sausages, in various styles ranging from traditional (with purple cabbage and potato salad, for instance, or with curry ketchup) to more contemporary (like a vegan sausage, and cheese-stuffed wurst served with peppers and onions).

There’s a nice selection of beers and wines in various styles, though not the overwhelming number of choices available at some places. You’re likely to find something you like, or fall in love with something new you’ve given a shot.

Critiques: the sound system they’ve invested in, paired with all the hard surfaces, can make conversation difficult, but that’s (unfortunately) standard in the Castro. Might not be the best place for the hard-of-hearing or an intimate dinner.

We had a lot of fun here and the food was great. May not be the best place for a quiet dinner if you really want to have personal conversations but overall we really enjoyed it.
