It was perfect experience
I have been to Willie G’s about 5-6 times over the last 6 weeks. The service really needs to be improved. The waitress delivered my salad with my entree, I had asked that it be brought out with the other peoples soup & salad. She was anything but friendly & seemed in a bad mood.
We ate on the patio and what a wonderful experience! The temp was perfect, the service was relaxed and the food was great! We love the snapper bites and the blackened cobia was perfectly cooked. A wonderful evening!
I could eat their six hour braised brisket and cheesy grits for brunch every weekend. We were pleasantly surprised with baguette pain perdu and the mimosas had me at Grand Marnier.
Loved everything about the new Willie G's on W. Loop South. The new location is amazing and has a great ambiance. We had 2 individuals in our party on Sunday morning. Couldn't believe the huge omelet brunch portions (6 egg omelet)! Waiter was great, attentive, and friendly. Will definitely be back!
The food was wonderful and the server was exceptional.
Food was awesome, atmosphere was great. However, ended up eating at the bar, as we had a 7:45 reservation via OpenTable & hostess did not come get us until 8:45! We had already ordered so not a huge deal, but this could be an issue for some people so feel I should mention it.
We tried out the new location. It was very nice. But the prices have gone up so much. I do not think that we will be going back.
Great on all levels as usual
We sat outside in perfect weather but sat next to fountains and it was extremely loud! In fact, the fountains were so loud the waiter could not hear what we were ordering. It’s a shame since it is so beautiful out there.
The service was excellent, from the manager to the servers. Well trained, professional and accommodating.
Great ambiance, excellent food. everything about Willie g's, is fantastic.
We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner meal. Our waitress Rita was very familiar with the restaurant for many years and was a great addition to our meal. Appetizers (oysters of course), main dish and desserts were better than ever! Red snapper Mellissa and the cauliflower and fries with peppers were a great addition. The beignets were to die for!!!
Anniversary , they did not mentioned it
Kitchen messed up the while evening. They did not informed our server that what I had ordered was not available 45 minutes into our dinner. When we finally reordered the kitchen prepared the wrong dish.
No manager ever came out to talk to us. Prob worst restaurant experience in houston ever.
A dish that says “fried green tomatoes” had a few tiny, mushy green tomatoes buried under shrimp covered with remoulade....hardly what I was expecting. Overall, the meal was pretty good. For the price I thought the portions were a little small.
The food is just not good! This is my 4th time dining in and I’ve yet to find something I like. Everything tastes mediocre
Geat food, good service, amazing display of produce when you enter.
The food was great! The service was excellent. The atmosphere is fun and inviting.
Don’t go, it’s a place to been seen but not a place to eat. The waiter can make or break a place, he made a bad decision. When you say you are going to replace a the the food do what you say, don’t reheat the plate then present it as new. Act like you care, talk is cheap. No worth the money.
This new location is not as elegant and classy as the previous location. We were seated at a table where two of our group had to suffer with blinding sunshine, for the first 15 to 20 minutes, coming in through a window with an insufficient sheer. The temperature of the room was Warm. I'm not overweight and I don't sweat easily but my back was wet before I finished my meal. Our waiters even said they were very warm and had talked to the manager about it. We were seated at 6:30pm for dinner and the restaurant was already crowded and filling up. The noise level was high and the acoustics are terrible. We had to talk much louder than normal to hear each other.
Despite these drawbacks, the service was excellent and the food was outstanding. Loved the cocktails and wine.
We always have a fun time at Willie G’s. One complaint....they do not allow folks to split points/usage of the Landry’s rewards card. If 2 people want to share the points, why not?
The waitress was incredibly rude and did not engage with us when we ask about the menu. It was my first time here and I wanted to here what was good and she just kept saying depends on what you like.
Excellent all around. Will definitely be going back!
The music was too loud. The kind of restaurant could vê peaceful.
I don’t understand why when i use open table they give us The worst table and SEAT.
Snapper meal was quite good. Vegetables could have been warmer. Excellent service plus nice new location. Retrieving car from valet can take a little time. Nice special occasion restaurant.
Kyle was an server. Extremely enthusiastic.
Great service. Sommelier was very friendly & informative. Overall an excellent experience!! Will definitely be back
The bar looked awesome. Some of the menu items like BBQ shrimp needs work. Steak taco marginal. Gumbo okay but would have liked more seafood. Seafood platter was too much batter and not cajun enough. My client was expecting pappadeaux ltaste. Beignets were a hit and sauced were very good. Love the updated atmosphere.
Very good food and great service.
It was just a tad loud for daytime business and the service was very slow.
Food was amazing
This was our first visit and we were very pleasantly surprised
Absolutely perfect! Great service, great food, great ambiance!!! Our waitress, Abby, was outstanding!
Lovely menu, service, and ambiance. Great place to celebrate my husband’s birthday ❤️
I was so excited to spend Easter brunch at Willie gs for the first time with my fiancé. We got seated quickly then received water by our waiter. Once we received water another waiter came over to take our drink orders. Our first waiter rudely told him that he was waiting on us and the second waiter awkwardly walked away.
During our dining experience the ambience was amazing and sitting outside on a beautiful day made it even better.
The waiter forgot about us for about 15 min so I had to ask another manager to take our order. It was stressful having to wait to place our order.
Once we received our food
The food and drink presentation was good but the taste of my food was meh, I had a stomach ache the rest of the day. I’m not sure if the seafood was bad but it wasn’t good when I got home.
Over all ambiance and drinks are great, waiters and food taste wasn’t that great.
My experience on Saturday night dinner was not how I imagined
Restaurant was every loud, our waitress was running around like a crazy, too many tables to serve
He was very nice and polite not his fault about the quality Food was poor, the taste was the same in many dishes
The 3 of us won’t go back .
Great location...great menu....great service...and a very enjoyable night for our family. The seafood options are virtually endless. And, the price range is incredible.
Rita was our server and did an excellent job. Kitchen is still a work in progress but not doubt will smooth things out. Patio is outstanding in spring, give it a try. Also, their oysters, the Malpacques from PEI are outstanding, A work in progress but moving in the right direction.
As a native Houstonian, I am a long time fan of Willie G's. The new restaurant is beautiful and the interior design is modern and upscale. However, I have been to the new location twice and although the food is good, in my opinion the prices are too high I like the simply prepared fish that is served with no sauce and just a vegetable. I had the mahi mahi, which was good but a small piece of fish for an entree price of over $30. The valet also charges $5 after 6 pm which seems very cheap and inappropriate for an upscale restaurant where people are spending $100+/person for dinner. I know in other cities charging for valet is common, but I hate to see Houston adopting this practice.
