   A lovely meal. Very good food, not outstanding in Michelin terms, but very nice. Smallish starter portions meant we had room for a pudding. Each course was delicious. The restaurant was nicely busy on a Saturday, with what seemed like plenty of regular diners. A great atmosphere. Staff were all great, polite, friendly and attentive. Would eat here again if we return to the area.

   Scallop starter was good, hake was excellent. Cheeseboard and pannacotta were good. Sat inside despite good weather as a lot of traffic outside due to roadworks. Service was fair.

   This is the fourth or fifth time we have eaten at Williams kitchen and we were left completely underwhelmed. We had an early table ( 6.45pm ) , my partner had the scallop starter £17.50 for 1 scallop is excessive by anyone’s standard , Michelin star pricing without the Michelin star , I had the oysters which hadn’t been prepared correctly, still attached to the shell which on some of them was quite sharp and broken , they also varied in size quite considerably. Upon ordering our main ,we were both looking forward to the turbot we were told it had run out , a bit poor considering our early booking ! We settled for the salmon which was nice but its salmon . I booked the table for my partner’s birthday which made it more disappointing. Overall it’s left a very bad impression and I probably won’t return.

   Absolutely delicious. Can barely decide from this menu. Best fish stew ever! And great service.

   Stunning crab soup and generally a great lunch. Lovely staff and ambience. The only criticism was that my wife had the cheese board and when you see the amazing selection of cheeses in the shop, that wasn't really reflected there. Everything else was brilliant and I would recommend it to all; of my friends.

   Excellent choice of seafood, beautifully cooked and prepared, in a warm and friendly environment. Both indoor and outdoor tables are comfortable and pleasantly spaced. I have no reservation in recommending Williams as one of the finest restaurants in the region.
