Our 8oz certified Angus beef filet mignon, blackberry demi glace, fire roasted grapes, smoked bleu cheese, served over a truffled parsnip puree
Quality has gone down. We have been hearing other occasions and it was very good. But tonight, there were only a few people in the restaurant and only one server. Service was slow, and he did not even come back to check our food was until you’re almost done with it. There was no candle on her table. There was no offer a fresh ground pepper nor were there any pepper salt shakers available on the table. Food was bland at best. I had the pork chop and it was very fatty. Not a lot of edible meat on it. My husband had the paperdelle and it was very bland. Went to the bathroom, and it looked like it could’ve used a cleanup. Trash was overflowing. I don’t think will be coming back here for a while. For the value of what we spend on the meal we could’ve gone someplace much nicer and had a much better experience.
The food was not good I don’t know if they had a different chef but the first time we went there was amazing . They didn’t have the bottle of wine we wanted but still charged us 150 dollars for a 3 year newer like really we paid for 2018 stages leap but but should have been a 2015
Great food, service was wonderful. Thank you
Please continue doing what you do well.
This was the worst experience I have ever had in a restaurant. From start to finish it was a disgrace.
Was pretty good
Great service and excellent food and portions. Had the steak burger and sticky chicken. Very good.
Third time I have been to W & H. Food is decent, but absurdly overpriced - the reason for my overall low rating. The cocktails are usually good. It would be easy to add a ahi tuna steak to the chop list. Second time I at here, we were rushed out of the private room for what seems like an early close.
Very nice dining experience. Good food, good service. Our server Nestor was awesome. Very attentive and accommodating with food questions and suggestions.
At the bar, while waiting for our table, I ordered a Manhattan. The bartender had to look-up how to make it. But, it was good. Service was a little slow. The food was very good and a little pricey.
I know WH is mainly a "steakhouse" and if you are going to eat red meat, I would definitely recommend it. We ordered a side of the Brussel sprouts which were fantastic! We tasted brown sugar and Dijon mustard, not truffle oil as the menu stated, however they were perfectly cooked. I ordered the Sticky Chicken, others had the Street tacos and Steak Burger. My dish was disappointing because the sushi rice was a disc of mush; there was not a discernable grain of rice in it. The chicken was slightly overcooked, but the sauce was very tasty. Those who had the steak street tacos and the steak burger were very happy with their meals. Our waiter was very friendly and the atmosphere was great!
Out waiter was awesome and food was even better!
Server and check in was super. We had drinks, the cheese bread appetizer and split a burger. The burger was better prepared than in previous visits so really happy about that. Overall a great dinner.
Our server, Miso, was outstanding! Friendly and attentive but not overly so! One of the best servers we have had at this location.
The ambiance was great but the music was too loud for dinner. Our server was very sweet and we understood he was busy. We were disappointed in our food though. My husband actually had to send his plate back which is the first time I've ever seen him do that. He normally does not make a fuss and would prefer to make the best of a bad situation. Lastly our charcuterie board cheese had mold! That was definitely a bummer.
The place was empty during the lunch hour??? Very poor wait staff service. I don’t recommend going to this restaurant right now.
Food was excellent but our server was terrible. Got my glass of wine by the second course and then it was wrong. Took forever between items and there were 15-20 people max in the restaurant and that wasn’t tables either.
Husband and his friend had an amazing time. Thank you for the great experience since it was his first time there.
It was a great experience overall
Service was good, Pork chop dinners were good, baby back ribs okay, to much dry rub.
Rib-eye was ok, but not outstanding.
Coconut shrimp was serviceable, didn't like it as much as other restaurants that I've had it at.
Bussell Sprouts were not good. The ingredients listed brown sugar, and I thought perhaps there'd be a hint of the flavor, but it was so overpowering that is was unappetizing.
Service was wonderful.
Ate there last week and loved it so went back yesterday. It was very busy Friday evening. Drinks took very long to come to the table. I ordered a filet from the grill (Medium). First time it came out brown and well done. They quickly brought a new one, but that one blue (very rare). They finally got it right the third time (although the 3rd steak didn't come with any truffle butter). By the time the 3rd steak came, we still hadn't received our sides that we ordered. The finally brought out my side of fries and it was so piping hot that it burned the roof of my mouth. Our guest just told the waiter to not even bring his side (as he had already finished his steak). Bill came and they still charged us for the side that never came, and took nothing off the rest of the bill for the poor service. Our poor server (Jeremy) was doing his best, but not at all happy paying what I paid for this experience.
Been there many time before many great experiences. This was first , bar drinks didn’t come until the entree, food felt it had sat for a while (daughter got sick later on), just disappointed, they are much better than this.
This is at least our 6th time dining here. Out celebrating a special night for one of our sons - his first choice closed. Great looking place but service and food prep remain lacking. And that seems to be consistent - even pre-pandemic. CONS: Server was friendly & tried hard but insecure. Our appetizer - the pesto bread - was half frozen inside. Yes - frozen. Out of 2 types of beer we requested. Out of root beer. Out of chocolate chip cookie dessert. Prepped salad entrée completely wrong. PROS: nice place. Oddly enough - We will probably dine here again as steak house style options in Morgan Hill are very limited, and our first choice was closed for dining on a Monday.
Good food, great service. Our waiter was stellar! Good atmosphere. Great DJ but could turn it down a notch. It was slightly difficult to have a conversation without moderately yelling. Great outdoor patio. I will definitely come back.
Terrible service. Very slow, waiting 15+ minutes for a drink.
Food was bland. I ordered a spicy dish and confirmed with the waiter it would be spicy. It wasn’t even remotely spicy. My wife’s risotto was very bland to the point she gave up eating it. Very disappointing.
6 of us for dinner and we all had steaks.
They were perfectly cooked.
We were all very happy with our meals.
It was very nice and the staff was great.
Food was perfect, music was fun and upbeat, but the service was lacking. Drinks did not come until we were half through our dinner. Never asked if we would like a refill either. Waiter was nice, but expected more attention.
Saturday my family when out to a 6pm dinner. I am a repeat customer as the food and craft cocktails are great. Double check if the DJ is playing as the volume was at concert levels. Not good for a sit down dinner. As with many restaurants they are short staffed. Cocktails took 25 min to arrive. The second round of drinks we requested when we got our first round and those took 30 minutes. Glad we brought our own bottle of wine for our main course as there was no wait. My recommendation would be to have comped a round of drinks or include a free dessert to let your customers know there repeat business is important. Also having a manager on duty to check in with tables would go along way. Feedback on how to improve operations, feedback on if the music is to loud will help the business thrive in a competitive environment. They could learn a bunch from Ladera Grill and Craft Roots on how to improve on customer experience. Both are walking distance from Willard Hicks.
The place got busy and the service became super super slow. They seem understaffed
Great place to eat and relax. The staff is on top of everything from refreshments to food. It was all very good.
Food was average and Brussels sprouts tasted like dessert too sweet. We were not finished eating and was asked if we needed to go boxes then the waiter came back and asked if we wanted the bill. He really rushed us out of there! Did not have a good experience dining there.
Our server Lester was outstanding. The food is consistently delicious at this WH location.
This was my first time visiting Willard Hicks and will definitely be back. Food was very good with a nice selection. The two seat tables were kind of close quarters if a person is concerned about that these days. Overall a very nice dining experience.
Normally the service
Showed up 8 minutes past our scheduled time and it seemed that the host was confused on where to sit us, despite having 8 visible open tables in the front sections. Many empty sections during our arrival, including the back rooms.Waiter was pleasant and we ordered cocktails. It took 15 minutes to get a Manhattan and martini. Ordered appetizers: pancetta Mac & cheese and pork bell—Pork belly presentation had greens that looked dehydrated as if the food may have been sitting too long near a heat lamp. When entrees came, the food runner say, “I don’t know who has what so here you go” and plopped both entrees on the table.
Had to flag someone and ask for water, and waiting another 15 for 2 martinis. no steak knife given to cut through double-cut pork chop.
Entrees lacked seasoning. Overall on food…meh
I know restaurants are having staffing issues and a hard time to adjust to this new labor force but the mediocre service is quite palpable, especially for patrons going to establishments spending money and seeking good experiences and get back some mode of normalcy. Too bad, for now I’ll avoid this location.
They did a great job making us feel special and attended to. The food was very good.
I have been here few times and there are days where the food is good but other days where it’s not good. I ordered the short rib stroganoff entree and I was so disappointed that the rib tasted boiled and no flavor! The poke was dry, this was my favorite appetizer before too. For the price I don’t want to chance it again with their food. Their drinks are always great so this will be a place for drinks only.
Waitress was very attentive. Made for a great dining experience.
