Nice service, excellent biscuits, beautiful bathroom. Recommend the chicken biscuit.
We were on vacation in NOLA and came across an article about the best breakfast locations by neighborhood. We made reservations online and it was seriously one of our favorite meals of our trip! We had the shrimp and grits and the breakfast hash with fried chicken. So much food! My husband polished his off but no way could I finish mine! The coffee was great, the service was amazing and the ambience is fun! We will definitely make it a regular stop in our visits to NOLA!
Food was fabulous and service was friendly and efficient. We had breakfast and the biscuits are different than normal southern biscuits but were delicious! We will be back.
This place was fantastic. Great food, open and bright. I loved the little touches with the lighting and presentation of the dishes we order.
Amazing bakery! Must try their pastries!
Shining star of my weekend get away. I think there are angels in the kitchen baking! Our waitress was kind and knowledgable. Great location! NOLA MUST!
We had to make a reservation for 7 am and there were only 5 tables full by 7:45 -8:00... we couldn't understand why we could not have made a later reservation but my husband loves WJ and we got up to be there. We had our grandchildren... not much of a selection for children. Ordered the monkey bread, which was overcooked (rubbery). The food was very different from the last time we were there. It was not up to the normal standards we were used to. My dish was very bland and my husband's short rib meal had very little "shortribs" and he said the grits were very bland.
We did love the cornbread which is my husband's favorite.
Excellent food as usual. The cornbread is amazing and the corn chowder has the right amount of heat. The chicken and rice was very good. Our fish and chips came out cold but the wait staff quickly replaced it with a fresh serving that was hot and flavorful.
Love the food and service.
Great service and food and The atmosphere was great !
The Pimento grilled cheese with Spicy creole tomato soup was AMAZING!
Hope this becomes a staple on the menu.😉
Although, I didn't get dessert this visit don't miss out on trying Willa's treats.
Great food and great service. Only wish the portions were bigger.
With so many eateries to choose from in New Orleans, I would recommend Willa Jean to anyone looking for creative and very tasty selections. Great ambiance for Nola and the staff was friendly.
Enjoyed our time there and look forward to going again and trying some of their other menu items.
Chris had such great suggestions - the muffins and biscuits were FABULOUS!
Everything was delicious. The drinks were tasty; I had the Im(peach)mint - bourbon, peach, and mint. Poutine, yes. Beet salad, yes. Chicken & rice had big mushroom flavor and was the best dish of the night. Fried chicken sandwich was tender and crispy. Banana pudding, yes. Brown butter peach dessert, yes. Chess pie “deconstructed,” yes. Rwandan pour over was nice with the desserts. Go to this place.
Phenomenal food! I'm from South Louisiana and was there for the Queen Concert with my two sisters. We loved everything we ordered. I'm vegan and there was a quinoa bowl that they just held the egg off for me, it was fantastic. The baked goods were also fantastic. We will be back!
Good food, great service, perfect spot to dine at before a concert at the Smoothie King Center!
Breakfast menu is only until 10:30–seems a little early
Excellent hospitality! Very warm and easy-going. Delicious. Based on the chefs background and baking, and pulls from local ingredients. Ask for suggestions, everything is so delicious. And, save room for dessert.
Wayyy expensive and the waitress upsold us when we clearly weren’t starving. $60 is too much for breakfast.
You also don’t need a reservation. The way help has it listed makes you think you need one.
The food was absolutely fantastic, including some items I bought from the bakery. What a treat!
Took 45 minutes to get our food at lunch. Menu is very limited. Food isn't that good.
Our new favorite restaurant and we are locals! We can’t wait to come back! Great with kids and date night
We came here for brunch on my birthday and had a great time. Our sever was awesome. Attentive and so sweet. She checked in on us often but we never felt rushed. Pimento cheese board + blackberry mint julep slushy were both incredible. Extra points for the inclusive bathroom signs. 💗
The food & ambiance were beautiful. The service was great. The food wasn't bad at all but not outstanding either. We had avocado toast & the eggs, grits & biscuit. We had a much better & cheaper breakfast at Two Chicks Cafe. I think Willa Jean is worth the stop if you are staying on the block but not to go out of the way when their are so many great places to eat in town. I think for the price it was mediocre at best. It did come highly recommended by a friend who had it more than once on her stay.
Excellent service and the food is out of this world. Definitely recommend reservations but worth the wait if you forget.
Very nice brunch with salmon on toast. Service was prompt but not intrusive. Noise level can be a bit high. Recommend early brunch to avoid crowds.
Very clean and delicious, helpful staff and accommodating to say the least.
Server was great!
Loved this stop on our vacation. The WJ burger was amazing. I wish I had chosen that instead of the chicken and rice. Everything we had, from appetizers to dessert, was top notch. And that area of New Orleans was so quiet on a week day evening, it was a blessing. We didn’t actually need our reservation. I bet we could have found better (cheaper and closer) parking than the Premium Parking lot around the corner. But it was an easy walk on a beautiful evening.
We've been before. I dont dislike willa Jean's, but we sat for almost 20 minutes with no server. Someone came over to fill water then it took another how ever moments for her to come back and explain she will "now" be taking care of us. I believe her name began with a C? I always appreciate the food, though the shrimp dish was not our favorite (we felt had no flavor). Overall we'll be back, but still totally unacceptable to have your guests wait that long to be served.
1-mom, 3-14 year old girls out for an evening. The artichoke dip and poutine were awesome. Burgers were better than average, delicious chips, but the chopped salad was not anywhere near good. The cookies and milk were a hit. Had hoped the salad would be credited as it was not eaten, but was listed on bill and paid for. Service was exceptionally well.
Loved cornbread, artichoke dip, short ribs, shrimp toast, Pavlova and chocolate chip cookies. Kale ceasar salad needed more dressing to soften the kale. But it was more than worth the drive from Slidell!
I didn’t love the barbecue shrimp. They were over seasoned and being a native New Orleanian, I expected large gulf shrimp. I got frozen tourist shrimp instead. Also, slices of French bread would have been preferable to a large hunk of bread soaking it the overseasoned sauce. The bread ends up soggy before you can get to it all. Outside of that the cornbread and artichoke and cheese was delicious.
Went with a girlfriend for early breakfast. Great biscuits and gravy
Wonderful food, great service!
Willa jean. Loved! Our family ordered shrimp toast, pimento cheese apps, chicken sandwich and poutine. Cookies and milk topped off our evening. Every last bite was delish. Service extraordinary. Try it. You'll WiLLove it!
The food was awesome. The service was awesome. The cocktails were awesome. Had dinner before the Micheal Buble concert. Can't wait to go back for brunch.
We ate here before The Rolling Stones concert. We had a late lunch so this was an early dinner. We had appetizers for dinner and both were delicious and kept us full throughout the concert. Second time dining there in a month, highly enjoyed both experiences.
Wonderful, as always! The cornbread is a must. The crab and corn chowder is delicious.
