Willa Jean Ratings and Reviews
Lotta hype... not really a New Orleans experience- wish we had just gone to one of the many seafood joints in the French Quarter. This restaurant feels like they're trying too hard to be hip. My husband loves shrimp every way but the open faced sandwich was weird; my chicken sandwich wasn't even as good as a fast food place (dry & over priced).
This place looks great on television but you'll be disappointed.
Service was friendly!
My boyfriend and I are on vacation in New Orleans and wanted to eat at Willa Jean. Our server provided great service. We ordered the Cornbread, Peanut Butter Hot Chocolate, Shrimp & Grits with a Poached Egg, & The Hangover Bowl (Braised Short Rib and Grits with a Poached Egg. The food was delicious and so flavorful. We had a great time there.
The food and drinks are always amazing when I’m there. I’ve had the same waitress the last three times, Dallas, and she is terrific. They are constantly busy but they do a great job tending to their tables and the kitchen is so efficient. GO EAT THERE NOW. You won’t regret it. Oh, and get a cocktail 🍹 or two 🍹🍹👍
We've heard nothing but good things about this spot so we had to try it ourselves. We had reservations so we sat down instantly. I do not recall our waitresses name, but she was great and made the experience that much better
Started off with the chocolate croissant. It was so good we got two to take home to our families. Will definitely get this again.
If you have had a long night on bourbon street then you need to get the hangover bowl. The lamb was perfectly cooked, great grits, and loved the charred spring onions. The portion size was huge for the price. The only change I would have is maybe another spring onion or two.
My wife had the Fried chicken biscuit with the Tabasco honey. The biscuit was light, but had a great bite and texture too it. The chicken was perfectly breaded without it being too much. Great crunch to mirror the juicy chicken. The Tabasco honey just set the whole thing off.
We will definitely be recommending Willa Jean's to all our friends and family.
The food was delicious, but our server soured our experience. I expected so much more at such a highly rated and prestigious restaurant. If I had to guess, our server was either very hungover or still a bit drunk from the night before. He dropped several things, and was very distracted and inattentive. With the head chef being interviewed at the next table, I'd expect service to be even better than usual!
