Took 45 minutes to get our food at lunch. Menu is very limited. Food isn't that good.
Our new favorite restaurant and we are locals! We can’t wait to come back! Great with kids and date night
We came here for brunch on my birthday and had a great time. Our sever was awesome. Attentive and so sweet. She checked in on us often but we never felt rushed. Pimento cheese board + blackberry mint julep slushy were both incredible. Extra points for the inclusive bathroom signs. 💗
The food & ambiance were beautiful. The service was great. The food wasn't bad at all but not outstanding either. We had avocado toast & the eggs, grits & biscuit. We had a much better & cheaper breakfast at Two Chicks Cafe. I think Willa Jean is worth the stop if you are staying on the block but not to go out of the way when their are so many great places to eat in town. I think for the price it was mediocre at best. It did come highly recommended by a friend who had it more than once on her stay.
Excellent service and the food is out of this world. Definitely recommend reservations but worth the wait if you forget.
Very nice brunch with salmon on toast. Service was prompt but not intrusive. Noise level can be a bit high. Recommend early brunch to avoid crowds.
Very clean and delicious, helpful staff and accommodating to say the least.
Server was great!
Loved this stop on our vacation. The WJ burger was amazing. I wish I had chosen that instead of the chicken and rice. Everything we had, from appetizers to dessert, was top notch. And that area of New Orleans was so quiet on a week day evening, it was a blessing. We didn’t actually need our reservation. I bet we could have found better (cheaper and closer) parking than the Premium Parking lot around the corner. But it was an easy walk on a beautiful evening.
We've been before. I dont dislike willa Jean's, but we sat for almost 20 minutes with no server. Someone came over to fill water then it took another how ever moments for her to come back and explain she will "now" be taking care of us. I believe her name began with a C? I always appreciate the food, though the shrimp dish was not our favorite (we felt had no flavor). Overall we'll be back, but still totally unacceptable to have your guests wait that long to be served.
1-mom, 3-14 year old girls out for an evening. The artichoke dip and poutine were awesome. Burgers were better than average, delicious chips, but the chopped salad was not anywhere near good. The cookies and milk were a hit. Had hoped the salad would be credited as it was not eaten, but was listed on bill and paid for. Service was exceptionally well.
Loved cornbread, artichoke dip, short ribs, shrimp toast, Pavlova and chocolate chip cookies. Kale ceasar salad needed more dressing to soften the kale. But it was more than worth the drive from Slidell!
I didn’t love the barbecue shrimp. They were over seasoned and being a native New Orleanian, I expected large gulf shrimp. I got frozen tourist shrimp instead. Also, slices of French bread would have been preferable to a large hunk of bread soaking it the overseasoned sauce. The bread ends up soggy before you can get to it all. Outside of that the cornbread and artichoke and cheese was delicious.
Went with a girlfriend for early breakfast. Great biscuits and gravy
Wonderful food, great service!
Willa jean. Loved! Our family ordered shrimp toast, pimento cheese apps, chicken sandwich and poutine. Cookies and milk topped off our evening. Every last bite was delish. Service extraordinary. Try it. You'll WiLLove it!
The food was awesome. The service was awesome. The cocktails were awesome. Had dinner before the Micheal Buble concert. Can't wait to go back for brunch.
We ate here before The Rolling Stones concert. We had a late lunch so this was an early dinner. We had appetizers for dinner and both were delicious and kept us full throughout the concert. Second time dining there in a month, highly enjoyed both experiences.
Wonderful, as always! The cornbread is a must. The crab and corn chowder is delicious.
In town for the 4th but made the reservation for a late breakfast several weeks ago after hearing about Kelly Fields recent James Beard award. We were not disappointed!! We had the Shrimp Toast which our waiter told us was his favorite dish on the menu...the cornbread snack is a must as well. We also had a croque Madam and we ordered the Mimosa bar for the table, Wow! We asked for a biscuit because we had heard they were the best! It was Beautifully laminated almost like puff pastry. Delicious...great experience all around. Looking forward to trying one of the other THREE menus...until next time Willa Jean...
Upscale take on down home southern cooking. Worth the visit.
Music is too loud
Been coming here since they opened and have consistently great food and service!
Everything was wonderful. The only concerns I had was the entree. Plating was subpar and the chips were plain old out of the bag chips. The dessert and poutine were both amazing.
Food was very tasty. The server was the only issue with this restaurant.
Everything excellent! Definitely going back! I was referred here by several people and I see why!
Really great biscuit and gravy
Terrible server experience. He treated our table as an afterthought. Loved the food though.
It was good not great . Probably better for breakfast or lunch not really impressive for dinner . Cocktails were yummy .
This was a great place!!! Unfortunately our server seemed to just be a generally unhappy person who was curt, rushed, and somewhat absent. But the ambiance and food were definitely worth a repeat ❤️
Relle was wonderful with my son, we had a perfect mommy & son cookie date.
Modern. Trendy. Delicious. I loved the pinmento cheese and Cajun tomato soup. My husband went back while I was a conference for the hangover bowl! The frozen blackberry mint julep was 💯!
This is one of our regular stops when we come to New Orleans. I had the Banana Bread, Croque Madame, and the Buttermilk Chess Pie. I’m pretty sure all of these were new since last visit. It was outstanding. And I got a fistful of WJ Cookies to go. I love coming to this place.
The food never disappoints. The cornbread is beyond compare, and salads are fresh and tasty!
Our experience at Willa Jean's was great. Our server was extremely nice and helpful. She also brought a great mocktail for my son and the "red velvet cake" dessert was delicious.
Service was excellent. Up until this point, I don’t think a host had even smiled at us in New Orleans. Coming from the Boston industry, thus far on the trip we hadn’t been deeply impressed by the level of service we had experienced. We were greeted warmly and seated at the bar (my preference). Our bartender Olivia was fab. She was super friendly, had great timing and a general good nature about her.
We each ordered a sandwich to split. Both were amazing. My friend ordered the fried chicken. Honestly, I was a little upset at her because back home I work at a fancy fried chicken joint. Fried chicken was the absolute last thing I wanted. I ended up totally envying her sandwich. The chicken was cooked perfectly and the slaw/mayo wasn’t over-powering. Some of the best I’ve ever had (don’t tell my chef).
Dessert was great, don’t skip it, this is what they’re known for.
very nice spot, creative menu, fair prices, great desserts
Our sever, Mary, was beyond excellent. She made great suggestions and was very attentive. She even went out of her way to let my partner try the soup before ordering it. All the food was excellent from the pimento cheese dip to the cookies! The BLTA hit the spot also!
First time trying Willa Jean and it was an absolutely fabulous experience from drinks, appetizers, entrees, and desserts. We were so pleased with the experience. We will be back regularly to this one.
Willa Jean for dinner is a wonderful very casual experience. Creative well prepared meal (tomato soup off the charts) but it's still a sandwich type meal. Chocolate chip cookie to end is still the defining experience.
