This was my second trip to Nola and hands down my favorite place to have lunch and coffee.
The corn bread was out of this world and the drinks were amazing!
Food was good and server was very attentive. I was a little upset when we arrived 10 minutes late, due to traffic, parking and weather, to find bd out the reservation had beeen cancelled. Someone in our party had just arrived and she was seated, but was told she couldn’t sit b/c the reservation was cancellled. Despite the snag it all worked out.
Pre-concert meal and a great location brought us to Willa Jeans but the food will be bring us back. We ordered off the brunch menu which allowed us to choose from savory to light dishes which was fantastic . Stand outs for us were 1) the monkey bread, you can’t go wrong with dessert at the beginning of the meal, 2) avocado toast which was light and fresh 3) shrimp toast, very rich and savory , and the boudin and collard green biscuit which was everything a good southerner loves. Great food !!!
Food was overly salted. Even the chocolate chip cookies the restaurant is known for were salty. Facility is cute. Was surprised they were serving brunch at 2pm on a Saturday so options were limited. Pimento cheese and crackers were good.
Definitely make reservations for breakfast
This place was amazing! The service was great! Most definitely will be back!
Amazing. We had 3 meals here. Every single one was excellent.
James was a good server. Felt like he should have asked us if we wanted anything else to eat or drink before handing us check/ticket. This made us feel rushed for the next customer. We added a pastry to share in addition to breakfast.
This won’t keep us from coming back. Excellent atmosphere and food.
Willa Jean was everything that we had hoped for on our quick visit to New Orleans. The food was fantastic, the service was great...the atmosphere was quiet as we arrived at 7:15 am before our conference started. I will definitely be back on my next trip, and will definitely recommend.
Frosé and cornbread Ah-mazing! I’m upset I’m not local and can’t go back 😞
Best corn bread I ever had in my life. The pour over coffee is good
My husband and I ate brunch on Sunday morning before the Saints game. We were able to make a reservation although there were lots of available tables when we arrived. Our waitress was very friendly and helpful with describing menu items and giving us her favorites. We had the cornbread w butter and syrup - I love cornbread and this did not disappoint. So moist and flavorful. Reminded me of eating syrup and butter growing up. It was a large piece so could be shared with several. My husband had the sausage gravy biscuit and he really enjoyed it. Very well seasoned and the biscuit was delicious. I had the Bbq shrimp on sourdough bread. The sauce on the shrimp gets all soaked into the bread - it was delicious and not as spicy as most Bbq shrimp. My husband said the coffee was really good and I had iced tea that was freshly made.
We’ll definitely return next time we’re in town and recommend it if you’re in the area.
Great food in a fun setting. Love it every time. Will be back soon!
Enjoyed a quick dinner with friends prior to a concert. We were pleased with our meals, and we will likely go back again. I had previously only had brunch at this restaurant, and brunch is excellent. The dinner menu only featured 3 entrees, so if you are looking for more variety, you will want to look elsewhere. It was perfect for our needs that evening.
first time visitor. went before paul simon concert at smoothie. as were most other patrons it seemed. we had the fried chicken sandwich and the grilled cheese. both were very tasty. wife had cookies and milk, i doubled up on wine as it was a great deal before 6pm. for the area, price was reasonable. service very attentive
Visiting NOLA and so glad we made plans to have lunch here. Cornbread was so amazing and a must try! Grilled cheese and soup, burger was yummy! Ended with pecan pie!!!!!
First time to the restaurant and it will now be a staple for visits to come. Everything we had was great.
The biscuits were amazing! Hangover bowl 🙌🏼 and biscuits and gravy 👌🏼👌🏼
Love the “teaches and peaches” frozen cocktails!!
FANTASTIC! Some of the best food I had while in NOLA. The Shrimp Toast was amazing. The Monkey Bread was to die for (and i'm not normally a sweets person!). The Croque Madame was good, but very basic, so I recommend going with something more special - wishing I would have gotten the shrimp and grits or the hangover bowl instead! My BF, who is a coffee snob, said the coffee was really good.
Food was so rich that none of us could get through our meals. Avocado were under-ripe and inedible. Service and ambiance were great, but really this place is all hype.
Always love a good Avocado Toast! Cookies are the best too!
Great atmosphere and amazing food! Best cornbread and pimiento that I've ever had.
Loved it! Everything we got was good. Tried all 3 frozen drinks and all were delicious. Get the cookies! Would definitely return and recommend.
Went here for lunch. The roasted beets was very good, the cornbread ok (the butter was excellent), but the warm buttered crab roll was the worst I've had. My friend did not like the fried chicken sandwich. The lemonade was so sour we had to ask for another drink. Service was accommodating and very friendly. The place is nice and airy. The pastries looked good.
Willa Jean is one of our favorite restaurants in New Orleans and that says a lot! The food is beautifully prepared, simply presented with great flavors and choices. Everything is worth trying and we are doing our best to get through the menu. Enjoy!
Upbeat atmosphere and restaurant is bigger than shown in website. It's bright place good for
young people to get together.
I had a tough time finding anything appealing on the menu. The recent menu changes pulled my two go-to dishes. I wound up settling for the double cheeseburger. It was eerily similar to the burger joint next door.
Willa Jean had great service, and EXCELLENT food. We got the BLTA and the avocado was delicious. Dessert was even better. The three cookies, milk and batter is a classic; however, the grilled buckwheat pound cake was also incredible. Great experience- would go again!
Visiting NOLA for first time and received Willa Jean recommendation from a local. Did not disappoint, food was exceptional and Bloody Mary even better. Would happily return and recommend.
Love Willa Jean. It’s a go to. The Cookies and milk are an experience in itself and the cornbread I could honestly eat with every meal in life.
The service was great and the food was wonderful. We would highly recommend for brunch.
Food was bland and overpriced for portions of meat.
Wonderful atmosphere and top notch food and baked goods.
I have had several trips to Willa Jean over the past couple of years. It used to be one of my favorite brunch destinations...now I don't care if I ever go back. The prices have gotten out of control ($4 for plain coffee or tea for example). On this most recent visit we had the spinach dip which had not completely melted together and was a congealed mess. The entree, the hangover, was runny soup when it was supposed to be a grits bowl. The flavor was spectacutal but the appearance and consistency was of food already eaten. My sister had the chicken biscuit which did not seem to be cooked all the way and had a pecular taste. The waitress only came back once and by then we were too hungry to wait for new food. All in all the experience was $70 and we ended up eating 2 hours later.
Everything was delicious!!!!
Great menu , lots of options, well located , clean
too much cheese. Not enough variety. More wine choices.
I enjoyed the brunch food, it was all very tasty, but particularly happy with the ambience and noise level. The hangover bowl was particularly good.
The food here is so good it’s off the charts. I had no idea when I ordered a BLT that it would be plate licking good. Words can’t adequately describe it. And the banana pudding - insanely delicious!
Thee service was outstanding- friendly, caring and charming.
Since I don’t live in NOLA I only hope that they pot out a cookbook so I can try to recreate the amazingness myself.
