Love Willa Jean and LOVE that you are taking reservations again for brunch! You can’t go wrong here!
Food was pretty good. Really enjoyed the fried chicken biscuit with tobasco honey and a poached egg on top. Milk money latte was great. I liked the hangover bowl as well, just not as much as the biscuit.
Was a little surprised of the lack of what I consider breakfast food. Not a bad thing, but when you walk in for breakfast expecting to see a menu and choose between pancakes or an omelette (just examples), and they aren’t on there, I was a little disappointed. Didn’t matter though; the meal overall ended up really good.
The Quinoa Bowl was amazing!! Like most of the restaurants in NOLA, the coffee just isn't flavorable enough, most likely due to needing a stronger coffee. Let's remember, we can always dilute strong coffee!!
Don’t be fooled by the 1 page menu that appears to be basic eats. Nothing here is basic. They get it here, foods you love, prepared with exquisite ingredients and creativity. Elegant simplicity that isn’t pretentious. Pimento grilled cheese? Yes please. LBGTGV BLT? I’ve never had a BLT so memorable. Shoestring fries with homemade ketchup? Put these in your belly. Adore everything about this place.
Loved the strawberries and cream!! Definitely get some desserts!
I have dreams about their chicken biscuit it's so good. Do it. You won't be disappointed.
Dental meeting, breakfast. Very good
As soon as we got there we were seated which was great. The biscuit and gravy was good but our meals were lacking. Service was not that great. Our server just disappeared for about 30 min after we ate. Cookies were the highlight. Probably won't be back for anything else.
We absolutely loved Willa Jean. The food was amazing along with the coffee drinks. You must try the Monkey Bread...delicious!
As always the food, service, drinks were all amazing! I have yet to have a bad experience here! The lbgtq was amazing!
My mom (who is 74 and does not do spicy and has not been exposed much to contemporary cooking as my dad’s favorite restaurant is Outback) and I had a reservation for 830 which I think was the last of the night. It was pretty empty when we got there and we were the last ones there. Service was great and so was the food. My mom loved the food and The deconstructed red velvet cake was absolutely fantastic. The chocolate chip cookies were pretty fantastic too.
Handcrafted southern goodness with a modern flair
If you go close to closing time it is not hard to get a table, be beware that they are more interested in breaking down the condiments and getting ready to lock up than they are in whether you need a refill or if your food is too your enjoyment. They chicken and dumplings is NOT anything close to what chicken and dumplings is supposed to be. I suggest Willa jean go stay in the country and learn some reliable traditional recipes for country food. Also the music selection being piped throughout the restaurant was poorly chosen and made for a worse experience. I've eaten there on 3 occasions thinking I needed to give them a chance or that maybe they've had an "off night" but all 3 times were disappointing. This is sad because I live in the neighborhood and wanted a close place to frequent.
Great service and amazing food
Don't miss the corn bread--it's outstanding. Great beet salad, too, and my companion loved his grilled cheese sandwich. Just a very vibrant, modern, fun place.
Willa Jean was recommended by a friend for my very first dinner in New Orleans. And it was great. Started with the warm cornbread with butter and syrup and the artichoke dip. Both were delish and we could have stopped there, but we didn't come all the way from NY for a couple of appetizers. Next, we ordered the fried chicken sandwich and the chicken and biscuits. Both were great, but no room left for dessert. I'll save it for my next trip to town.
Service was wonderful and food even better! Love the atmosphere of Willa Jean! Even if you have to wait its a fun place to be!
Recommend crawfish bowl& hangover bowl
Thank you for dessert at breakfast too
The baristas & staff are fabulous
My favorite overall meal we had in NOLA. Loved the trendy atmosphere & the food was to die for. Everything on the menu looked delicious including the drinks. I would definitely make a stop back here next time I'm in New Orleans.
Creative breakfast with seasonal and unexpected items. Just a treat!
Everything was fabulous!! Best artichoke dip I’ve ever had!!
It was ok. Not bad, but nothing special or to write home about either
I had the burger and it was good.
The menu is fairly small with limited choices
The food is excellent and service is great. The desserts are awesome and always take some goodies home!
The tomato soup is a must try! Awesome food, awesome service, and beautiful restaurant!
Lotta hype... not really a New Orleans experience- wish we had just gone to one of the many seafood joints in the French Quarter. This restaurant feels like they're trying too hard to be hip. My husband loves shrimp every way but the open faced sandwich was weird; my chicken sandwich wasn't even as good as a fast food place (dry & over priced).
This place looks great on television but you'll be disappointed.
Service was friendly!
My boyfriend and I are on vacation in New Orleans and wanted to eat at Willa Jean. Our server provided great service. We ordered the Cornbread, Peanut Butter Hot Chocolate, Shrimp & Grits with a Poached Egg, & The Hangover Bowl (Braised Short Rib and Grits with a Poached Egg. The food was delicious and so flavorful. We had a great time there.
Food was bland and appetizers cold with very slow service
We loved Willa Jean! The cookies and milk were our favorite! Great food, atmosphere, and service!
Sure would like to see some oysters on the menu.
Salad w/ golden beets was outstanding.
the food is always perfect - the service can be a little pretentious
Went for Sunday brunch while visiting from out of town. Glad we had a reservation- it was packed! Modern, airy, sun-filled space. Delicious drinks and great brunch menu. Everything we had was fantastic! Definitely heading back on our next visit to town.
Absolutely Love Willa Jean! It definitely is my "go to."
The service was awesome and so was the food! I highly recommend the biscuits & gravy and the pimento cheese appetizer!
Awesome bunch! Great service. Always a treat! Can’t wait to go back...I try to get a something new every time but the biscuits are so good it presents quite a challenge.
The artichoke dip was amazing......avocado toast was awesome and milk and cookies a great way to finish off - really really good
I'm not sure why this restaurant is so popular for brunch. Overpriced, food is mediocre, drinks are nothing special. It was really disappointing. Maybe I've just gotten too used to NYC Brunch places? Nevertheless, I won't go back.
The best brunch we had in New Orleans!
