Consistent and always enjoyable. Willa Jean never disappoints.
We came on Bingo night ! The drinks, the food, everything was amazing ! The host Ashlie was GREAT ! So entertaining! My family loved the food ! The desert ! The frozen Mosco drink. The cookies ! We loved it
The waiter was absolutely horrible. I cannot believe that he actually still has a job there. We ended up not having to pay for any of the food but that didn’t make up for the absolutely horrible experience.
Biscuits n gravy w the Milk Money Lattee. Yummmmmmmm
Super disappointed here and nothing was overly wrong with our visit. As locals, I can confidently say that the vast majority of New Orleans food is better than this.
The ambience is okay- nothing special. It is a typical New Orleans restaurant that has been renovated to be extremely modern. We prefer the vintage/renovated look that keeps the charm.
The service was okay, but it wasn’t the southern hospitality New Orleans is known for. We asked for mimosas with our brunch then asked if there were any specials. We were told no, they are $13 a piece. We then continued looking at the menu and noticed there was a mimosa special so we asked to change to that. It was still $45 for both of us but, better than $13 per mimosa.
For the food, my husband like his chicken biscuit (the only reason we didn’t give this place 1 star). I ordered the BBQ shrimp and grits and it was gross. It was very salty and coated in so much sauce that it was like a BBQ sauce soup. If you are looking for good barbecue shrimp then head over to Mr. B’s.
I honestly think that anyone who loves this restaurant just hasn’t tried good New Orleans food yet because this ain’t it.
The food and ambiance was awesome, but the server was too busy to give us his attention. He was the bartender and had tables. For instance, I wanted to order a slice of pie and I asked him if we order with him or at the dessert area. He said through him. So I looked at the dessert options and came right back, but the server took quite some time to come back and the pie was sold out by the time he went to get it.
Great! Menu was small but food was great! Will go back again.
The fried chicken biscuit was pretty good along with the coconut shrimp appetizer. Our waitress was very pleasant and attentive, her recommendations were spot on. The place itself had a modern feel, but was very comfortable. They’re cookies or bakery section in general looked very tasty, I wish I would’ve walked away with a few. All in all, it was a great breakfast!!!
Great food and service. We will be back!
Our server was amazing and the avocado toast was delish as always. Started out with the bloody marys and they were spicy and delicious, but not too salty like some. Coffee is great, as well. Can't go wrong at Willa Jean.
The service was quick and the food was delicious!
The server, Lauren, was attentive but also let me enjoy the meal at my pace. The food was excellent and Willa Jean has a fun and casual dining experience. I already made my reservation for next weekend.
Always a great time and great food at Willa Jeans.
Everything about our experience was outstanding! The food was delicious and our server was such a pleasure to meet. She was amazing! This will definitely be a place we come back to again and again for that hangover bowl and griddled pumpkin bread! Yum!
Pretty slow service. Uninspired food—biscuit was drier than it has been in the past
Great food and service! Dallas really made the experience!
The food was delicious! Loved everything we got! Highly recommend !
It was great!!! Loved the food and the service:)
Had breakfast there on a Sunday morning 9:45. Food was good. Different. Avacado toast clearly stated cerrano on the menu but I was not prepared for the spice level. Very, very hot. Couldn’t finish it because of the heat. Biscuits and gravy were tasty. Cornbread was good. Coffee good and strong. Overall a neat place. Good friendly service. Reservations recommended. Should list spicy dishes with a little pepper beside them or something.I’ll know better next time not to order the toast.
Cool downtown vibe, super service, great food! Grabbed additional bakery for home noshing, just as good!
Wow I think this place wins my award for favorite breakfast bowl ever!! The veggies and grain bowl has kale, sweet potatoes, farro, peppers, goat cheese, and a poached egg! Man was it delicious!! I’d give it 10 stars if I could!
Willa Jean was recommended to us by local friends as a casual bakery and coffee house located in the CBD of New Orleans. When we arrived the hostess was friendly and seated us immediately. However, when I asked for a cup of decaf coffee, I was told there was none ... in a bakery/coffeehouse. No offer was made to make a fresh pot. The remainder of our service was cool, efficient, but not friendly ... unusual for New Orleans. The food was very good, but not exceptional. Perhaps everyone was having an off day?
Fantastic breakfast - best Bloody Mary ever
Lovely friendly staff, great food and tasty coffee... yum!
Excellent !!! Our best brunch on NOLA
Love the ambiance. Food is yummy. Service great.
Love this place so much we went twice in one trip! Buy the baking book!!
Chicken biscuit with Tabasco syrup was outstanding.
Best spot for a brunch in New Orleans!
I feel like Willa Jean lost their “It” factor. This used to be my favorite spot in New Orleans, and still has many great things going for it, however some parts were a tad disappointing :( the drinks are still as good as ever (mind you, we ordered coffee drinks and not alcoholic drinks). The food, however, was quite lackluster. I got the fried chicken biscuit and it was inedible. I think it was rubber disguised as chicken. My boyfriend insisted we trade meals after I only got one bite of my sandwich down and couldn’t go any further (we don’t like to complain!!). He also hated it lol - the biscuit was also rubbery??? My boyfriends hangover bowl was good, but I remember it being to die for a year or so ago. We also got some cookies on the way out, and I just remember them being so much better. Maybe my taste buds have changed??? I do know the chicken was actually nasty, but the rest could just be that I had unrealistic expectations. Who knows, very sad to see my favorite spot take a turn for the worst though :(
Great service and beautiful plates. A major highlight to our New Orleans trio.
The food was wonderful, so good that we bought the cookbook! I would highly recommend eating here.
A lovely birthday brunch! Thank you!
Food was good but very over priced for what contents are available on the menu
Very nice staff! Accommodated us very fast and because we were celebrating a birthday they gave us the best table :) 10/10 I would come again!
Great food! Lots of flavors to pick from!
Quick bite to eat for breakfast. Excellent quality. Care was made to ensure safe environment. Good drinks.
Overall a good experience as usual. Just a different energy because of the necessary table spacing and minimal amount of people.
Great spot , yummy menu
I'm from Louisiana and was in NOLA for a quick trip. I decided to stop at Willa Jean for lunch. At first, I was a little unimpresseed. I ordered the pork and grits, which were good, but not anything spectacular. However, I did not order any of the appetizers, and one passed me looked exceptionally delicious. It was the desert that sent this to a 5 star review. I would return again and again to try all the deserts. Highly recommend!
