Good, fresh, creative food. Great space. Yet acoustic tile would do wonders.
Carmine is awesome!!!!
A multiple James Beard Award winner for a reason. Great for breakfast and pastries.
Great food and service. Experience spoiled by obnoxious loud millenials. Had to move twice to muffle their behavior.
Amazing food, cool atmosphere, amazing service.
Recent visit on a Saturday at around 6 pm. Only 2 other people seated when we arrived, still not busy when we left. Our waitress was VERY inattentive despite having only our table. She forgot our wine order until half way through our appetizer/salad course. Entrees were served and generally well prepared, although my French fries were quite soggy indicating condensation following removal from the fryer. The waitress never really returned following entree service, so we never got to order a second glass of wine or ask about the French fries. When she finally returned it was for the delivery of our bill.
Glad we found WJ recommended when we were scouting out different eateries prior to coming to NOLA this week. The arugula beet salad was mind blowing. The chicken salad croissant was wonderful with chunks of chicken. The chocolate chip cookies are great but the oatmeal raisin are the best we EVER ate!
Deciding to try their milk and cookies, and they were awesome! Coffee could have been better though.
In town for the Sugar Bowl. Food and service was very good.
All food good, but was expecting more than sandwich for dinner. Online menu offered plates meals, even on the lunch menu.
Willa Jean never disappoints! Great service, outstanding food in a very relaxing atmosphere for breakfast. The grilled banana bread is remarkable!
Taylor was the server for my little post-Christmas family get together. She and all the staff handled my extremely chatty and inquisitive guest and made her feel listened to and appreciated. The cocktails, cornbread, entrées and especially the coffee and baked goods were all really great. The hangover bowl was a big hit and so were the special holiday coffees. This was my fourth trip to Willa Jean and I’ve had the same experience every time - terrific service, Imaginative and well prepared food, great coffee. I’ll be back soon.
Biscuits are a must
Absolutely amazing!! Highly recommend
A week long boring limited Christmas brunch menu
Dinner was avera
We love this place. Food is always excellent and great service. I recommend making a reservation as they tend to fill up quick.
It was great!
Good food, nice people service a little slow but nice.
Didn’t know breakfast ended at 1030a. Very disappointed
If heaven exists it must be at Willa Jean. Our favourite meal we had in New Orleans; incredibly delicious food and outstanding service. Our server Dallas was 10/10 friendly, funny and personable.
The biscuits were amazingly flaky. They soaked up the honey perfectly. The granola bowl was fresh and delicious too. Big serving portions. The free coffee wasn't great, but the drinks on the menu were really good. Nice atmosphere too- clean, modern, with fun light fixtures.
I love Willa Jean's. Walking in and seeing the counter and glass case of sweets is amazing. A MUST is the cornbread with syrup. You won't ever forget it. The bloody mary's are a YES. I highly recommend the pimento cheese board w/ ham. I am a pimento cheese snob and this is pretty good. It needs a little tightening but it's good. I love that they serve it with homemade crackers. I highly recommend the hangover bowl too - short rib so tender. The shrimp and grits are wonderful too. You can't go wrong with anything at Willa Jean's especially the chocolate chip cookies. They are heaven. They have a dash of salt on top. Yum.
Food and service are both excellent. The Fried Chicken with Tabasco is our all-time favorite!
AWESOME! Don’t miss this amazing restaurant. Especially the desserts.
My husband and I enjoyed our meal. While the food was good the service was not.
Busy place. Waited despite having a reservation. They were out of the item I originally wanted, so I substituted for the BBQ shrimp toast. In my personal opinion, I felt the dish was overly salted. My husband got the shrimp and grits which he said were good. I got the honey milk latte which was absolutely delicious. We sat at the bar and our server was very friendly.
Was kinda disappointed with this place. It has great reviews but we had just an ok experience and for the money , it should have been amazing.
I ordered the croque Madame and it came out cold. It was beautiful but cold. Same with my husbands poached eggs on his grain bowl. Service was ok . She only came once to check on us the whole hour we were there.
$60 for 2 breakfast entrees, a coffee and a mimosa is a lot for an ok meal.
My brother and I first visited Willa Jean on Sunday, December 1. We were pleasantly greeted at the door. I immediately fell in love with the restaurant's atmosphere - it is inviting, warm, homey in all aspects. Our server (I wish I could remember her name!) was phenomenal. Not only was she very attentive, but she gave us great food and drink recommendations. The food (chicken and rice, buttermilk chess pie, and milk and cookies) was absolutely outstanding. We enjoyed our experience so much that we decided to return on Monday, December 2 before heading back home to Toronto. Although the waitress informed us that there was no banana puddin', she, too, gave a great dessert recommendation. I am almost glad she had to, as the "red velvet cake" was the best dessert I ever had. We were sad to leave Willa Jean, but are already planning our next trip to New Orleans, solely so we can visit this fantastic restaurant. At least we were able to bring some delicious goodies back home to Canada with us! I want to show my other family members how great the food, service, and atmosphere is. Ms. Fields - best wishes to you, your restaurant, and your wonderful staff. We look forward to seeing your future success. Kind regards, Kayleigh and Tyler Layton.
Came in at 7:30 in the morning and was one of a few to dine. We did have a reservation, just in case, but they are known to get packed.
Food was delicious. Would go back again.
I enjoyed the food and service is great
Carol was our server and she was great!
She recommended the grilled banana bread and she was right, it is the bomb!
Love this place!
This is my favorite restaurant. Breakfast, Lunch and Brunch have all been phenomenal. The biscuit, grilled banana bread monkey bread and WJ poutine are to die for. Cookies and Milk are delicious. I love the Shrimp and grits, shrimp toast, croquet Madame. We always leave with goodies to go, especially oatmeal cookies. Make reservations if you don't you will arrive and have a long wait and be very sorry.
Bartender made two of us mocktails, which were outstanding. A strawberry-banana lemonade fizz. We started with the Artichoke & Cheese business, and cornbread. Both were delicious, even my daughter (a picky eater lately) loved both. It's also worth noting that they were happy to accommodate the picky eater without us even mentioning it (they must see it enough with kids there) and offered her a bunch of off the menu items. She excitedly ordered the ham and cheese sandwich, which they removed the crust from, and included chips and a giant chocolate chip cookie. My pimento grilled cheese and soup were great, although a little hard to hold together. My husband wasn't a fan of the burger, (something about the sauce but I was too busy stuffing my face to pay much attention). Considering how good everything else was, we'd go back in a heart beat. Took most of my meal home since I ate enough apps to feed an army of hungry tourists, and not just one. Went home with a turmeric tea + honey + cinnamon latte which was also wonderful. Our waitress was so great, and with a party of 11 geeking their food in before us, the good coming out was well timed and not much of a wait.
Our last breakfast in New Orleans was at Willa Jeans and it didn’t disappoint. I have never had such amazing biscuits in all my life. Like a croissant, but a biscuit.
Excellent! True Southern food...I loved it!
The biscuits are amazing. It’s a must get
Willa Jean is now one of my favorites restaurants in the WORLD and we will go back to NOLA just to go this restaurant! The shrimp toast is so unusual and so absolutely delicious. The cornbread is outstanding and unlike any other cornbread you've had. The cookies, sticky buns... leave me speechless! A must, must try while in NOLA. Absolutely outstanding.
Great dining experience, especially for brunch! We will be back for sure!
Food was amazing as always but our server was rude, dismissive and a few other select words that aren’t appropriate for this review.
