The restaurant’s food was pretty good, much better than I expected.
But they have sooo much light that it feels like a train station cafeteria. Consider dim the lights to make it cozy.

Service was really off and not up to Wildwood Kitchen standards. Food and ambiance excellent. Will return but will make sure not to have the same server...

My concern was that I am lactose intolerant, and it was very hard to find something to eat that did not have cheese or butter. Even the lamb meatballs apparently had butter! I spoke to one of the staff about this, who said he would pass this along to the chef. Meanwhile, there are lots of other restaurants around, so I do not need to return to Wildwood. Too bad....

Went for lunch on a Tuesday. The place was pretty crowded, so thankful to have had a reservation. Each of us ordered a main dish - falafel salad, salmon burger, pasta w/butternut squash and goat cheese - all were quite pleased with the meal. The service was attentive without being too much. Definitely would go back!

I have a fair number of allergies, and Chef Jones did an amazing job of putting together a delicious meal for me--amazing seared rockfish with perfectly crispy skin. Thank you!

Menu sounded great but found the dishes to be under-seasoned. Squash soup and duck pate were interesting and could have been good if seasoned well

In general great local restaurant but can have occasional glitches. Been there many times and food is consistently solid. This time waited an hour for main course and eggplant tahini appetizer which is also used in main course was not very good. Wonder if they are changing Chef's?

Uneven food & service. Short ribs were dry and flavorless & bit fatty. Very subpar compared to the rest of the food. Combine that with less than attentive service and I am unlikely to come back.

Excellent food in a nice room that has well-spaced tables and a low sound level so one can speak in a normal volume. Inventive takes on familiar food. A great value for the money and a real neighborhood gem that is worth the travel for those who do not live in that neighborhood.

Even a place you love can occasionally disappoint. We love Wildwood but our short ribs entree was not what we would expect from this fine restaurant. The meat was dry, gray, tasteless. All the other elements of our meal were wonderful.

We had a lovely meal, interesting and delicious combinations of flavors. Service was personable and helpful. Most of all, we appreciate a place where conversation is easy. It might be noisier when chock-full (we went on the Wednesday after Labor Day), but it is a small restaurant with tables and booths nicely spread out; so we expect that absent a boisterous group, it would be quieter that the vast majority of restaurants.

Unique and good food well prepared from the appetizers to main course to desserts. Service was present but not intrusive. As I get older I prefer quieter venues and with all the hard surfaces, there are a lot of harsh echos.

For a little restaurant in a strip shopping center, Wildwood Kitchen exceeds expectations. The menu is thoughtful and offers many unique selections. All of our appetizers and entrees were beautiful, well executed and delicious. Our waiter for the most part was excellent; a little slow on a few points of service but still very good. The bar is welcoming and our table was quite comfortable. We truly enjoyed our dinner at Wildwood Kitchen

Food was excellent and the professional staff who were all very courteous made the evening very enjoyable. Everyone in my group loved their meal and the wines were a nice compliment. Next time we are in Bethesda, I will definitely return to this restaurant. An additional plus is ease of parking which is plentiful and no fee is involved. Looking forward to our next visit.

My lady lunch friends and I love Wildwood Kitchen for celebrating our birthdays and for lunches when we have "an outing." We are willing to make the trek from Virginia to Bethesda because we like it a lot.
The decor is modern yet cozy. It has the feel of a bistro, but it is much more.

The menu has something for everyone whether you want a mouth watering sandwich, something lighter, or something more substantial. I've had the crepes, a stew, seafood and salad, and I have never been disappointed. The desserts seem "complicated," but I think that's just a personal preference thing, and the simple ice creams and sorbets are delicious. They also have a nice wine selection. I'm looking forward to returning when the summer menu turns into the fall menu.

We loved the paella restaurant week special!!! Each of the three appetizers were wonderful. The paella was as delicious as we’ve had at any Spanish restaurant. And who can resist Sangria on a steamy August evening. Well done. And many thanks.

I went to Wildwood Kitchen with three other women to celebrate a 60th birthday. The restaurant is close to our office so is a popular destination for special occasions, and we all agreed that the food is reliably terrific. As expected, the food was great -- the birthday "girl" thought the special squid ink pasta was excellent; I had the salmon with lemon risotto, chard and basil, which also was excellent. Someone else couldn't help but completely finish the pappardelle pasta; I can't recall the fourth entree. Our server was appropriately attentive and did not rush us out the door. Because we were there for a birthday lunch we shared a dessert, and the chocolate mousse bombe was rich and fabulous too. Overall a great lunch and satisfying break from the work day.

Wildwood Kitchen's food is always top notch, but it's always noisy there because there isn't anything to absorb sound. On this visit we had the special paella dinner, which included generous, tasty appetizers and creative dessert--all nicely done and delicious.

The food was very good. The entree was on the table before the appetizers were eaten. The food was put on the heaters to let us finish what we were eating. The rush to get us out was obvious so the next people would be seated. We were there less than 1 1/2 hours. Too short for taking a new widow out for dinner and wanting to talk.

Our server was excellent. We ordered a bottle of Sancerre. When she presented it, it was not cold. She immediately said that she would get another bottle from the back of the refrigerator. The second bottle was perfect. My dinner companion and I were talking a lot and the server did not rush us. We spent about 2-1/2 hours. It was a great experience.
