what a great find! On the way to the movies at Montgomery Mall, we decided to try out this gem hidden away in a strip mall off Old Georgetown Rd. Service was warm and welcoming, noise level was low to easily accommodate conversation without yelling (a rarity these day). And the food! I'm a big fan of Mediterranean cuisine, and three delightful fish entrees made for a wonderful dilemma. I also try to avoid dairy, a real challenge at most restaurants, and here it was easy (with the sole exception of the desserts). Our appetizers and main courses were both delicious. Only critique is that it is a bit pricey. And the wine list is somewhat limited (but our selections were top notch). Definitely a place worth returning.
This has been one of my favorite places. And the food has been consistently excellent. This time the food was off. I had a salad with salmon. I asked for medium with it cooked through but not overly done. It arrived very much over done. The romaine was less than at its peak. One of the other gusts had a great soup but a salad that was like mine not with greens not as fresh as they should have been. Service was up to usual standards.
Always great service and consistent in both foid and drinks! We met Demitra our server a year ago on her first day ar Wildwood and boy we were happy to see her! Best cosmopolitan in town! Thanks WWK! See you soon again!
Very good and nicely presented food. We had dinners at the WK a few years ago and found it much improved.
This is a cozy, stylish restaurant with delicious food. We tried the beet salad with chicken, the lamb meatballs and the roasted cauliflower. They were exceptional with interesting combinations of ingredients and spices. The bread was unusual and tasty.
Can't wait to go back for dinner .
Still my favorite restaurant. Excellent food, service and atmosphere. A true neighborhood gem.
I like the blend of modern American with a touch of Middle Eastern. The dishes we ordered were excellent, especially the sea bass. The skin was perfectly crispy, the flesh was thick and moist, and the bed of sweet potatoes/swiss chard/pomegranate supporting the bass was delicious. One of our party enjoyed the pumpkin ravioli, and the duck was very good. Our server very kindly split a beet salad among three of us on three separate small plates. Really an excellent meal -- though not cheap. Total tab was about $60 per head, including 2 glasses of wine and an IPA, along with two scoops of ice cream and 2 decafs.
My entree was the special... rare tuna with a dash of hummus and some exotic flavored oil over black quinoa. Beautiful presentation and delicious. A wee bit pricey but worth it. I ordered Sancerre. What came tasted an awful lot like a NZ or maybe CA Sauvignon Blanc. It went well with the tuna dish, and they were busy, so I didn’t say anything. Wife enjoyed her meal also. We’ll be back. One of our favorites.
My Caesar salad was tasteless and the salmon burger had an unpleasant flavor. My husband’s roasted cauliflower was excellent as was the seafood stew special. The service was overly attentive. Staff stopped by too many times inquiring if everything was ok, interrupting conversation. May not return.
We went for New Year's Eve. The menu was fixed price, but the selections were good and the preparations very innovative. Outstanding food. The service was poor - We did the wine pairing a(wines were all excellent) - waited 32 minutes for the pre-first course. By the time it came we were about out of champagne. The main course came almost immediately following the first course so that we were unable to finish our wine with the first course, and had to send the main course back because it was cold. The wine for the third course came out as we were finishing that course. Just bad timing. The place was not full, so there was really no excuse.
Great lunch service with excellent food and attentive wait staff and manager. Will definitely visit again.
I had not prepared for the culinary ecstasy that I would experience at this restaurant. From the perfectly calibrated service to the perfection of each and every dish, my dinner companion and I, both of whom are rather unfortunately picky when it comes to food and restaurants, were wowed. I had the steak, cauliflower, hummus, and bread. My companion had the chicken and immediately thought about how to recreate it at home. I am without the superlatives necessary to get at the joy that my experience here brought.
What happened to your delicious bread. It looks the same but not nearly as scrumptious.
Great restaurant. Always a fantastic meal. Bar seating is nice especially for Friday night drinks. Would be great if they could stay open later.
We came in for dinner on Christmas Eve and it was great. We split the pate. My wife had the fish special and I had the Sea Bass. Both were excellent. The service was prompt but not pushy or rushed.
Wonderful service on a very busy night. Food was good, especially the hummus platter and the duck liver pate. Our entrees were good too but not spectacular. Drinks were not as good as I had remembered. But it is close by, easy parking and great service. Thanks!
Always delicious meal! I tend to arrive on the early side for lunch to ensure that it is not too noisy. The service is always excellent and attentive to our needs.
We've been to this restaurant many times and have enjoyed very good dinners here. We must have hit a really bad Saturday evening yesterday. The wine list was entirely vacant (i.e., we requested 5 different bottles of red, all of which they were out of, before finding one that we settled for). We were told about specials that were no longer available by the time we ordered (this was a 7 pm reservation, so not late at all). Sea bass was overcooked - a piece of leather. Sea scallops ordered by one of our guests was delicious. Given the prices this restaurant should not be "hit" or "miss". Very disappointed as we brought some very dear friends with us who had never been to Wildwood before. I suspect they will never go back. BTW, server "D" was lovely!
Very tasty. Highly recommend the Octopus appetizer... so tender! A bit pricey but a fine place to have a date.
Best chicken around but at $30 a pop, we only visit on occasion. Tables for two are tiny, guy need to reserve a booth. Cocktails are good
Loved our meal, our server and the whole evening. Highly recommend!
Cocktail was good and food well prepared and presented, but prices are high. Understandable as in high end strip center.
Anniversary- good was the best we’ve had at Wildwood Kitchen so far. Great dining experience.
Since your restaurants didn't have candles to put on the dessert, the waitress went beyond what anyone would expect, ran over to CVS and bought some. The cake was the VERY best.
Food and service outstanding! Duck confit was moist and tasty.
Overall great experience. Food was really good. Service was a bit off...not bad, but she was a bit odd. E.G. a signature drink came in a separate vial for pouring into glass over large ice ball at the table, when she poured one a significant amount of it splashed out of the glass because she poured too fast. She didn't apologize or offer to bring another...it was an expensive drink, and the person's who was spilled had significantly less than another person at the table.
Would go back for the food, drinks and ambiance, but hope for a little better and more consistent service.
Spinach crepes had too many onions. Otherwise, very good
Excellent food and service. A bit pricey, but overall a great experience.
Food & service very good-menu creative but limited-outside construction hampered access
Very limited menu and spotty service
I had the spiced duck confit. The duck was extremely tender and the presentation was excellent. This was the best duck I have ever had in any restaurant. Absolute perfection. The meal, the service and atmosphere makes this restaurant a must see for foodies.
Wonderful options in new fall menu. Pumpkin soup and pumpkin ravioli were both excellent- full of flavor. The seafood pasta was full of seafood and this sauce was delicious. Nice wine list of reasonably priced selections - both by the glass and bottles.
Tasty and original combinations of ingredients and flavors, helpful but not overbearing service. Prices a bit high for the 'burbs but worth the money. And, an added bonus, convenient parking--especially welcome on a rainy night. Will definitely go back and recommend it to friends.
I want to like Wildwood Kitchen more than I do. It has a nice upscale atmosphere, with a good cocktail program. And of course a well known chef/owner generally overseeing the kitchen (presumably). But the food is just good, not great, and for the prices charged for that food, the food should be great. The tuna entree, for example, was unremarkable; the scallops were overcooked. The octopus appetizer was very good, but at $17 and a relatively small portion, not a very good value. I would be more forgiving if the prices were a tad lower, but with so many wonderful restaurant options in DC, I would travel downtown for these prices and get a better meal. If, on the other hand, you are limited to the Rockville/Bethesda area and want an upscale restaurant, and don't mind paying more than you probably should, Wildwood Kitchen will be fine.
Live this restaurant! Delicious food and great service.
Varied menu. Not crazy about the featured entree (ravioli in a pumpkin sauce), but that’s more my taste. Desserts nothing special. Service a little inexperienced. I like the ambience though and would be willing to return. Lots of entree salads that sounded good.
Nice wine list with good options. Always some interesting specials, but we always go for the scallops, which are terrific!
Waited a long time for waitress to take our order. She waited on someone else that came in after us. We asked for more bread and never got it or were offered more.
We did a last minute birthday dinner here for 12. They were very accommodating! Every single person loved their dinner, and I felt everything was paced well so that we could all enjoy each other’s time. Thank you!
