We loved the paella restaurant week special!!! Each of the three appetizers were wonderful. The paella was as delicious as we’ve had at any Spanish restaurant. And who can resist Sangria on a steamy August evening. Well done. And many thanks.
I went to Wildwood Kitchen with three other women to celebrate a 60th birthday. The restaurant is close to our office so is a popular destination for special occasions, and we all agreed that the food is reliably terrific. As expected, the food was great -- the birthday "girl" thought the special squid ink pasta was excellent; I had the salmon with lemon risotto, chard and basil, which also was excellent. Someone else couldn't help but completely finish the pappardelle pasta; I can't recall the fourth entree. Our server was appropriately attentive and did not rush us out the door. Because we were there for a birthday lunch we shared a dessert, and the chocolate mousse bombe was rich and fabulous too. Overall a great lunch and satisfying break from the work day.
Wildwood Kitchen's food is always top notch, but it's always noisy there because there isn't anything to absorb sound. On this visit we had the special paella dinner, which included generous, tasty appetizers and creative dessert--all nicely done and delicious.
The food was very good. The entree was on the table before the appetizers were eaten. The food was put on the heaters to let us finish what we were eating. The rush to get us out was obvious so the next people would be seated. We were there less than 1 1/2 hours. Too short for taking a new widow out for dinner and wanting to talk.
Aside from the noisiness, it was great! The maitre 'd was especially warm and attentive.
Our server was excellent. We ordered a bottle of Sancerre. When she presented it, it was not cold. She immediately said that she would get another bottle from the back of the refrigerator. The second bottle was perfect. My dinner companion and I were talking a lot and the server did not rush us. We spent about 2-1/2 hours. It was a great experience.
Excellent peach and halloumi salad and pasta entree. Scallops were plentiful but nothing special though the accompanying vegetables were delicious. Dessert yogurt was disappointing. Service excellent as always.
It was delicious!

summer strawberry gazpacho was an excellent start to the meal. Unfortunately our conversation was disturbed by a very noisy group next to us. Tahini ice cream is a nice finish. Something different and tasty.
Although we had reservations and arrived on time, we were rushed throughout our dinner which was mediocre, at best. The fish was dry ( overcooked) and we sent it back. The other main courses were expensive but equally tasteless. The main courses arrived before we finished our salads and the bill was presented right after the dinner plates were removed. The price for wine is ridiculously high - a NZ SB (Matua) which retails for less than $9 (Rodmans) is on the wine list for over $50.
I ordered the scallops. The dish was delicious. The plate itself was a beautiful combination of vegetables with a very tasty sauce which complimented the scallops
Outstanding food and service but very expensive. Prepare to pay $80/person for 2 drinks, 1 shared appetizer, 2 entrees and 2 scoops of ice cream for 2 people, with 20% tip.
Food was excellent, a beautiful and peaceful atmosphere that is both private and festive, attentive and knowledgeable service. Overall, a gem tucked into a busy strip shopping center. I highly recommend it.
The waitstaff are well trained and prepared to provide excellent service without being obtrusive (important when it's a business lunch). The food was great. Get the octopus!
Unique menu delicious! Ate lunch for friends bday. They made it very special
Great local restaurant...lots to offer on the changing menu
A cordial welcome, nice professional service, delicious burgers and crepes. Not too noisy. A little pricey.
I was stunned at how good it was
My husband and I frequented Wildwood over the past several years with pleasure. We enjoyed the welcoming staff, the pleasing menu and the easy accessibility. Certainly restaurants change staff, change menus, evolve. For us, we no longer find either the menu or the service exemplary.
Food was very tasty. We both had fish and it was cooked well. Desserts are elegant and very good. It is on the high end of the price scale so easy to run up a bill.
All that was expected and more ... brought friends who had never dined there and they all agreed it was a 5 Star experience
My friend and I ate lunch, and we enjoyed an overall pleasant experience. Our waiter was friendly and knowledgeable about the various dishes. The service was smooth, including a quick delivery of the appetizer and the following main courses. The bread was delicious- lightly toasted and drizzled with olive oil. Our crispy cauliflower appetizer was delicious, and I would order it again. My strawberry gazpacho, a daily special, could have used more chopped ingredients such as the corn and cucumber. The puréed strawberries needed a bit more substance. The chocolate mousse dessert was a highlight.
Great for meal and ambiance !! Food is fresh and delicious! Salmon was cooked perfectly!
All good, as usual!!
Food was expensive but outstanding, service was excellent.
We've eaten at Wildwood Kitchen many times and are very grateful to have this restaurant in our area which, with a couple of exceptions, is a fine dining wasteland.
We have dined at three of Robert Wiedmaier's excellent restaurants in DC and Bethesda, but this was our first visit to Wildwood Kitchen, in our own neighborhood, and it was really excellent. We now consider this to be a true neighbor gem to which we will return many times. The menu is limited but has excellent variety, and the preparations were all delicious and well presented by an attentive and helpful staff. Standouts included the Amish chicken and a superb rum cake for dessert. The location in the Wildwood Center mall may seem modest, but the food was outstanding. Having lived several years in Belgium, I would like to see them add just a few of RW's Belgian classics, such as the boudin blanc, to their menu, but part of the strength of the restaurant is that they don't try to do too much, so they can do very well with everything they serve.
The menu is well-balanced with fish, meat, and vegetarian dishes, and our dishes were all excellent. The halibut was perfectly cooked, as were the vegetables with it. So the main goal for our evening at Wildwood--eating really good food--was satisfied. But the noise level at Wildwood Kitchen is annoying. The establishment can't control the volume of customers' conversation, but they could instruct the servers to speak in modulated tones. I wish they would do that.
Pedestrian flavors. Too many dishes have the same ingredients. Menu limited. Disappointing.
We were celebrating Father’s Day. The staff made the ambience, food and experience memorable! Top notch!
I just thought the Restaurant was over priced. Their food was good and there was a good selection--if you could understand what the dishes were. But it wasn't worth it.
We are already looking forward to going back. Four of us and we all thought our meals were outstanding. Lovely atmosphere and service too.
This is an upscale and adult-oriented dining area with a nice bar. My thanks to Wildwood for accommodating a young infant in a stroller. The tables are very close together. My party of 2 plus baby went early for lunch at 11. I am glad we did. By noon the dining area was full. The soup special was an outstanding watermelon gazpacho, very flavorful and smooth. The spinach crepe was also very good although the asparagus tasted slightly over-roasted to me. The salads were very fresh and lightly dressed. We had a split decision on the cheesecake. It has a heavy floral taste so try something else if that's not your taste. One of use really liked it, the other not so much. The only glitch was a misunderstanding with our server about an order for a second appetizer. Not sure how that happened and it was corrected quickly. Check the prices before you go so you are not surprised. It is not an everyday lunch spot for most people. Take children only if they are very well-behaved. Seating is at booths and tables. Be sure to specify which you want if you care. I also strongly recommend reservations even for lunch on a weekday. I look forward to returning.
Amazing! Great service, great food, reasonable prices, romantic atmosphere. Couldn’t ask for a better experience.
Wildwood Kitchen is one of my favorite restaurants. The food is always interesting with seasonal choices that reflect the season. The Watermelon Gazpacho is an excellent summer treat. Our waiter was helpful in explaining the specials, and was attentive to all our needs. The Tahini Ice Cream was new to me and a nice finish to the meal.
Neighborhood gem. One of our favorite restaurants for lunch and dinner. Always good service, excellent food, beautiful presentation. Nice touch: when sharing a dish, the chef is willing to split the dish in the kitchen, thus not compromising the presentation.
We love the people that work there, like Nick. Everyone is friendly and the bread is fantastic. The food isn’t bad, especially the buratta and the steak....
Lovely evening all the way around!
It is my favorite neighborhood restaurant. The food is always good and the dishes are prepared in an interesting way.
