We are a small, independent family run restaurant since 2002 specialising in grass fed Aberdeen Angus beef from Scottish small highland farms, cooked simply but with flair and attention to detail. We also serve fresh fish from local fish mongers west coast mussels, salmon, shrimps & Prawns.
Our emphasis is on high quality local ingredients and fresh produce from the best of local suppliers. Beef is selected, prepared and hung for us by Award wining "John Gilmour" of Macmerry master butchers since 1946. Fresh fish are delivered daily by Calum Sinclair and J.K Thompsons. West coast Mussels are delivered freshly daily by "Sea Mcgee". Artisan and farmhouse British cheeses are supplied by renowned Edinburgh cheesemonger, Iain Mellis and dairy produce from Fife Creamery. We take pride to cook everything fresh in our own kitchen daily.
We have outside seating arrangements for walk-Ins only.

The seafood and steaks were very tasty. The small intimate dining area is comfortable. Weather permitting there is also outside dining. Don't know if they were short of or new staff but that is what let it down a little on this occasion. Our table was not ready on arrival, we were shown to an outside table which are used for walk-ins to view the menu while waiting on our actual table. We eventually got seated approx. 20 minutes later. The table had been cleaned but was not set. Just over an hour after our booking we were asked for our order, nobody explained the specials. Cutlery was only laid a few minutes before our food arrived which at this point was 90 minutes after arriving. There was no explanation or apology for the delays. We then had to ask for the correct cutlery and utensils to enable our dishes to be enjoyed. Care wasn't taken when clearing the plates which we had to point out, a glass was soiled and cutlery that was for the next course was removed. We felt they were accepting too many walk-ins for the staff to cope along with booked tables which included a large party. We hadn't been for while just because of trying other restaurants but although our food was really good we won't be in a hurry to visit again.

Dinner was amazing! They source a lot of local products and you can tell. Super fresh! Service was amazing too. Very prompt and friendly!

Wildfire was exactly what we had hoped for, excellent Scottish food. I had a filet steak and husband had seafood. There was no children’s menu but 2 sides (onion rings and garlic butter green beans) satisfied our 8-year old without any fussing. The dessert - a special of the day, cheesecake with compote, was delightful. The atmosphere was comfortable - all substance and not pretentious. We would happily eat here again. Book reservations in advance to avoid disappointment.

Our order was taken very late. I ordered an appetizer and a main course and they were brought at the same time, which is not ok. The food was very tasty.

Un buen bar-restaurante con comida típica escocesa. Bueníssimo. Volvería a repetir. Muy buena cocina y una camarera muy amable y atenta.

When in town I always make sure I eat at Wildfire. The food is excellent. The service is warm and friendly. & the coziness of the restaurant is so inviting. I highly recommend making a reservation.

We are at Wildfire on Rose Street in Edinburgh, mussels (starter) were beautiful as were the king prawns (starter). Mains were both fillet (one upgraded to surf and turf), beautifully cooked. Service was prompt and efficient, would highly recommend.
