Windy Hill Farm has received a range of reviews online, both positive and negative. It is important to recognize that each review reflects individual expectations and experiences. Our visit required a two-hour drive, and we arrived at the property, which is set on over 600 acres of scenic landscape. Parking was somewhat limited; although there is a designated blacktop area for restaurant guests, we needed to park on the grass despite our reservation being made two weeks in advance. Upon arrival, we requested outdoor seating to enjoy the pleasant Tennessee evening, and the views from our table were impressive. We were promptly offered water and told a server would attend to us shortly. However, several servers passed by without acknowledgment, and it was approximately fifteen minutes before a staff member approached to take drink orders and inform us that all courses should be ordered together for timing purposes. This approach suggested a lack of service experience. We requested drinks and ordered the Tomato Bread and Charred Pork Belly appetizers to share but needed more time to consider our main selections. After another ten to fifteen minutes, drinks arrived via a different server who, unaware of our previous appetizer order, politely offered assistance and demonstrated familiarity with the menu. Appetizers were served about fifteen minutes later. The tomato bread lacked an adequate ratio of tomato confit relative to the bread size, and while the pork belly had good flavor, the plate’s appearance was diminished by dried garnish. At this stage, nearly an hour had elapsed since our arrival. For the main course, we ordered steak (requested rare to medium-rare) and chicken thigh, accompanied by a glass of Pinot Noir. The steak was delivered charred and cooked beyond the requested temperature, and the chicken thigh was notably dry. Both dishes appeared to have been held at the pass for some time prior to service. While the manager delivered the wine,

Chose to go to Wilders for my birthday. Food was outstanding, our server, DJ was fantastic and many of the wait staff stopped by to wish me happy birthday. I recommend going to Wilders for a superb experience. Our thanks to our server and the kitchen staff for a memorable night. We are looking forward to coming back.

We had A fabulous evening. Delicious oysters and mussels to start( next time I might just double up on those , have a salad and make that my meal!). We had 3 different entrees between the 4 of us , and all were delicious, especially the strip steak. We sat outside and enjoyed the evening breeze , bird songs and golden light. Staff was delightful, well informed, and made good recommendations. The entire experience exceeded our expectations.

We had a wonderful dinner. Not sure what made this “farm to table.” We had 2 starters: quail and buttermilk battered fried oysters. Entrees were flounder and elk chop. Carrot cake for desert. Not much green. And half of the food was clearly not local. That being said, everything was great - service, food, atmosphere… If they changed their menu more often — every month or two, we’d probably go back each time. I liked that my cocktail featured local honey and thyme! I think there is a Tellico Village market for this type of restaurant but it is surprisingly unknown locally. I’m following them on instagram now - where they post a lot - but I’d really like is just a notification when the menu changes so I can book again…

Thank you for dining with us and for taking the time to leave such detailed feedback—we really appreciate it! We understand your thoughts on the “farm to table” concept. While we always strive to showcase as much locally sourced and seasonal fare as possible, we also aim to provide a diverse and interesting menu—which sometimes means incorporating exceptional ingredients from beyond our region. That balance is something we’re continuously refining. Additionally, if every you are interested in taking a tour of our garden, please come by so you can view first-hand where those delicious ingredients are grown. And thank you for following us on Instagram! We’ll look into the best way to notify our community when the menu changes—so you never miss the chance to try something new.
