This small spot tucked in Salt Lake City's avenues has great ambiance and delicious food.
Excellent food, quality service. The only negative is the temperature inside-no AC
We had a wonderful experience this time. I was not going to come because we had a bad experience with a waiter but I have loved this place for so long we wanted to give it another chance and our two favorite servers were there and we were served by Eliza who is wonderful and we had a very pleasant evening. We brought someone with us who had never been and she absolutely loved it. We always like to bring someone new and introduce them to this wonderful avenues restaurant. So all went well and I will be back again and again. I’m hoping for maybe brunch in the future.
Another wonderful meal!
Very good food but they don't seem to understand how to properly book reservations. I requested a table inside, given the heat, and arrived only to be told the only option was outside. I don't know why the reservation was denied, and the staff offered no explanation or help. Yet moments later, a couple walked in and was seated indoors. For me, it was simply sit outside or go home. It was 93 degrees at 6:15 p.m., and although it was shaded, it was a very warm evening to dine al fresco. I tried dining here once before was told I sit in the basement while tables were available upstairs, including tables for parties of two. They clearly discriminate against parties of one. I won't go back.
Really slow service for a Thursday, was waiting for 20 minutes for my check after I had finished eating. Waiter checked in on me a total of 2 times, will not be coming back.
Can't say enough good things about this amazing place. We are telling everyone. BOTH times we've gone we were so impressed with every single thing about this place. Great service, cute atmosphere, awesome drinks, and I can't say enough how amazing every single thing we've tried was. Every single thing. On our second trip we brought two foodie friends and all of us ordered more than half the menu and shared everything. And loved every single thing. Our waitress remembered us. Service is fast and good. The prices are really great for the size and amazing dishes offered. For an American modern menu it's so unique and delicious flavors. Some staples like Wings and ribs are the best I've ever had and then new concoctions like bok chit and chicken hash were s unique and bursting with flavor. This place is hidden gem in the avenues. I'm recommending everyone to go. Even when I posted video of the food on Instagram I got a million comments. Make reservation because it's small and the wait can be long but well worth every second. New favorite place in SLC and I've been everywhere!! Only open for dinner currently and can't wait til they bring brunch back!
We had three main dishes, Buratta Salad 5 star, Chicken Hash 5 stars, Fish and Chips 3 stars. The reason for the 3 stars were the chips were not crispy and limpy and the fish batter as a little oily. Not sure if it was a oil temp or what but not the best F & C for the price. That said the other two dishes were spot on and the service attentive.
Their food is amazing!!!!! We have been there many times and it has always been excellent! Their Fried chicken is the best… burata salad, burger… Just excellent food and super cute atmosphere.
Love Wild Wood and the food. Waitress was great.
The burger and the chicken hash were excellent, if a bit salty (and I already eat my food on the salty side). The soundtrack was also great.
I found them after looking at 15-20 places to go for my birthday. The food was perfect but, the service was even better. My daughter gave it a 10 out of 10 and I can't wait to go back
Everything is delicious. The Gem Salad is excellent!
Great Neighboor find. Has a nice atmosphere and cute little patio too. Great owner and staff
Amazing everything! Outstanding service & accommodation!!
The only real complaint I might have was that their AC seemed to be broken and it was HOT (85 F).
Otherwise the food was amazing and the service was great.
Nice, interesting menu. Ambiance is casual and comfortable. Our first time there since the new owners took over and it was quite enjoyable. Kind of place you would enjoy a long, leisurely meal with friends.
Great new restaurant in a great old space. Delicious entrees at a decent price. Perfect patio dining with my daughter, in a relaxing quiet atmosphere.
Interesting menu with nice sized portions and beautiful presentation. We will definitely be back.
This place has some of the best food in Utah. Seating outside was a bit too close to other tables. Overall, a must try!
First time at Wild Wood and will be back. Excellent food and service. Very pretty patio. The waitress knew that we were celebrating my birthday and the only thing that would have made it truly special is if she had acknowledged it with a little beignet at the end of the meal. Regardless, it was a wonderful meal and we had a great time.
Service was really great. Friendly staff, knowledgeable and helpful. Food was great!
Love this place! The diverse menu is great and they change it slightly every week or two. Fun place tucked away in the avenues. It has become our favorite go-to.
Once again, wonderful food - love the changing menu
Nice Avenue’s eatery. Good food good service nice outdoor seating
We were seated downstairs which they called the Speakeasy. It was wonderful, much more quite than upstairs. We we out celebrating my Daughter's birthday and we had a fabulous time. Martini's and Marguarita's were perfect. I forgot our servers name, but she was the best.
Food and service was incredible
The food was delicious and the service was great!!
They need to hire more waiters and waitresses. Great place though.
So much is wonderful but the scallops were dry and overcooked. Everything else was excellent.
Great food! Everything we had was delicious! Friendly staff. Restaurant is understaffed which creates late seating.
The food was excellent, although they were out of the ribs which I had hoped to try. The brussel sprout appetizer was to die for, and easily shareable! My hubby and I both had the fried chicken entree and took home enough for a lunch the next day. Very unique and excellent. The drinks were also good, but be aware the bar is not fully stocked so they can only make certain drinks. I had the cucumber drink and it was very refreshing. We ate inside but they also had outdoor dining, which they said was dog friendly.
Delicious, Delicious, Delicious and Good Service!!
I have been going to avenues bistro and now wildwood for many years and have always liked their food.....they did not disappoint. But i had a reserved table and they put us on The patio which was great. As soon as we paid our bill, he came and asked if we could leave because they’re busy. REALLY? We ordered appetizers, main course and dessert. Our reservations were for 5:15 and we finished eating at 6:20, got our Bill and paid and at 6:25 we were asked to leave. We were out of there at 6:33. I am never going back no matter how good the food. I have other restaurants with much better social graces.
The food here is amazing! Fried Chicken is so yummy and the Beignets are better than New Orleans by far!!! Service can be a little slow so don’t be in a rush but they are nice just short staffed!
The good was good but the attention to detail was pretty weak. We went for a casual anniversary dinner. First, I wanted vegetables instead of potatoes but was told that I'd have to either pick fingerlings or french fries... so, I asked for french fries and when the steak came to the table, "oops" it came with fingerlings and no offer to fix that. Next, second, I wanted a cup of coffee after dinner but "oops" no coffee (??!!)... there is a Smiths a few blocks away and I think there is a coffee shop a block a way so couldn't someone go buy a pound of coffee to brew before opening? Finally, third, asked for the peanut butter cheese cake for dessert but it was not available; again, did anyone know that prior to opening? So, all in all good food but poor dining experience and no effort to do any type of service recovery at all... not even a offer to figure out how to make it better when all of these service shortfalls occurred.
I went to Wild Wood with my son for Mother's Day. What a wonderful restaurant! The ambiance is casual and easy; the food and the service, exceptional. Each dish we tried was layered with flavors, so good.
Our waiter was great: attentive and easy to chat with but mindful of leaving space for us to enjoy each other's company and the food.
Fantastic staff!! My meal was delicious and the service was great.
The food was excellent. The waiter i feel tried his best but the service was sub par. We got stuck in this hole downstairs which i understand utilizing all the space but the chairs were very uncomfortable for how long of a dining experience it was. We were sat and it took quite a while before we ever saw our waiter and there was a lot of loud crashing and banging going on which you could hear very easily from the basement seating area and it made the experience rather offputting. The food was unbelievable though and I feel that there is a lot of potential with this restaurant but please get rid of the downstairs seating unless you have a designated server to handle that area so people can get through a meal quicker when they are forced to sit in an uncomfortable environment.
They called us to let us know they were running late with seating, super appreciated it! But the Owner/chef was a little rude to some of the servers, tried giving him a nice compliment, but was very grumpy to us. The rest of the wait staff was great. Maybe he should be nice to his customers, it would be appreciated. After having a great meal, we left disappointed because of his attitude.
