Loud, unpleasant music greatly detracted from the experience. Great ale.
The food, beer and our service was perfect and the entertainment was one of the best.
I didn't end up needing reservations for Sunday brunch before noon. It was quiet and slow, and we were able to sit outside! The view of the mountains is unparalleled. The "beermosa" was great- a perfect pairing with the woodland setting. The food wasn't outstanding- coming from DC, I've had far superior brunch food- but the mountains and beer made up for it. We went back the next day for the complete beer flight and pretzel bites for "brunch" and it was spectacular. One of the best- if not the best- beer flights I've ever had. The pretzel bites with beer cheese were superb- the best appetizer I've ever paired with a beer flight. This place is not to be missed!
WE sat outside and enjoyed the view. Dog and kid-friendly. Waiter was very nice and personable. Food was good.
We went here for lunch and to listen to some live outdoor music on Labor Day. Our server was friendly, knowledgeable and prompt. The French bone-in pork chop with a mixed berry and wine reduction served with smashed potatoes and veggies was yummy! Hubby liked the crab cakes, smashed potatoes and jalapeno cornbread.. The beers were good, especially the howling pumpkin! Their growlers are cool with a metal handle and are cheap to refill. We will visit again.
I will definitely be returning to Wild Wolf with my family. Great atmosphere for kids (bouncy castle?!) and lots of outdoor seating. I will even bring the pooch next time--saw several people there with dogs. The beer is GREAT, good food and service was fantastic. Love that they have live music so often. We will be back and bring friends and family with us.
I haven't been to a restaurant in a long time where I felt ingored or like I was an annoyance to the waitress. Not only was she rude, but also charge my card on someone else's bill. There was no consideration for it being our first time there. The specials were not told to us and didn't even ask if we wanted to order dessert.
Great food, wonderful craft beers - loved the IPA's and Collaboration of multiple breweries to create one. Mushrooms and calamari fantastic.
I didn't get a chance to try the baby back ribs , because they were so popular. I will definitely have to ry them the next time we are back. Great food, aka, the crab cake, salmon, and the ruben. Very well done.
Great drive along 250 from Charlottesville. Made a reservation for lunch through Open Table the day before. The staff set us up with a great table, sampled 11 of the Wild Wolf beers and enjoyed a tasty lunch!!! Great job... We'll be back.
There aren't a lot of options in the Wintergreen area, so was happy to find this gem with good food, reasonably priced, and with great scenery. Just enough variety on the menu to suit.
Having dined here several times now I can say the food is consistently high quality. Excellent pulled pork sandwich! Very good beers also. The wait staff friendly, knowledgable and quick. So nice to have the pleasure of bringing one's dog (outside seating). Wish more places were this good.
barbecue is very good. Restaurant is fairly noisy and we did have a quiet table.
The food was very good and the atmosphere was very pleasant! I'd go back anytime for brunch, lunch, or dinner. Very enjoyable!
Okay folks, this is THE SPOT to stop for a delicious dining experience. The service is excellent and the menu has options for all palates. Beer varieties were plentiful and the flight option was a great way to sample some truly excellent brew. The only negative we found is the 1 hour trip from our home to WW Brewing Company. <deep sadness>
Tried brunch twice. Sufficient selection, some nice specialties like cheese grits. Food is good, no one raved. Service is friendly, but the staff is slow to start, and restaurant seems to be posturing for after brunch when the brewery crawling resumes. Like the place, will keep on the list of places to try.
Having moved into the area not far away, we really want this place to succeed. As far as beer goes, IMHO it is the best of the Brew Ridge brews, especially the Alpha Ale. The chef has recently been experimenting with sushi and that has been interesting with some really exceptional results. Each night is a different creation. Their flat bread pizza has been great. Entrees, however, have been hit or miss (really missing, when it is a miss). Last visit, the short ribs were burned beyond edible. They should not have been served in that condition. After being sat down, we had a long wait to be waited on. This was a first for them. So, they have lots more work to do, but we will continue to go for the beer and bar food.
We have great service, the ribs were decent, and the fish and chips were excellent. The best part was the service, our server was attentive, friendly, jovial, and made you feel welcome. I'd definitely visit again and try all of their beers on tap.
I was delighted to find gluten free items on your menu. It is really helpful to those who are gluten free!
We had a great lunch during a weekday and very much enjoyed the menu. If you can, go during the week as it gets crowded on the weekends. Great dessert, bread pudding in bourbon sauce.
Great (and very popular) spot for families on Sunday brunch, with just the right amount of adult beverages for Mom and Dad!
Our first time was amazing! Out waitress Jess went far and beyond to make our stay welcomed. They had excellent food I had the wild mushroom dish and my husband had the BBQ platter ( whith was to die for) very good. We also tryed the flat bread and that was amazing. We celebrates our 7 year annivsary with wild wolf and was so impressed we are coming back for my husband birthday in June. Thank you again for the free desert dor our annivsary. We live in kent county va
The band that was playing in Saturday night was just perfect, the design had it all.. They had soul, blues, jaz, an they where good. So good I left them a tip and got more info on how to purchase a cd from them.
Thank wild wolf for making our annavsary the best one yet
Awesome Food, Great Service and Superb Staff!
Cheerful service. Good turn around time on food order. Comfortable and non pretentious atmosphere. It's my favorite brewery among the 3 located on 151 in Nelson County. Honey Blonde Ale is my favorite.
Our dining experience was excellent . The wait staff was great , and the service and food was top notch . The beers were very good and exactly as described on the menu . Great menu , also . We definitely will return .
Seating at Wild Wolf is truly eclectic, as the rooms are small and plenty, or can be outdoors if you wish. The service was attentive without hovering.
Great selection of micro-brewed beer! We had a flight of everything and had a blast picking out our preferred choices. The fried oysters were tasty and the burgers were great! You have to try the fried Oreo cookies a la mode at least once.
We are from Lynchburg and this was our first time visiting Wild Wolf Brewry. It was a wonderful experience. The atompshere and the food were great. The service was good but on occasion, we would have to ask for refills, BUT I have to say, our server was definitely busy. She was working as fast as she could so this is definitely not a compliant. She was very friendly and helpful to us since it was our first time visiting. We will DEFINITELY be back to visit very soon and we will for sure recommend this "gem" find. Thanks to all for a wonderful experience.
Enjoyed our visit very much. do wish people would not smoke outside the entrance to the outdoor dining area.
Great atmosphere. Pulled pork pizza and Tuna appetizer were fantastic. I had the beef tenderloin and it was very tender and my wife’s horseradish encrusted salmon was awesome.
The 2 dinners we had were excellent and we'll be back soon
Unique place and very enjoyable.
To start our service was amazing!! Our waitress, Tracy, was so knowledgeable and friendly. She made us feel relaxed and the center of attention. I had a great time because she made our meal an experience. I also loved every beer we tried. I'm big on breweries and its unusual to like all beers a brewery makes. Try the Area 151. It was my fav.. We are also on a gluten free diet and they had a lot of options that I didn't need to give a laundry list of substitutions or exception to eat. The food was delicious. The night was made better by the blues band playing and us still being able to enjoy our table conversation without having to yell. Sitting on an outdoor patio in December that is heated made our night special.
good experience overall; will be back!
Beautiful location in the foothills of the Blue Ridge mountains, Wild Wolf has a ski lodge feel that was exactly what we were looking for on a cold Fall night. We had a group of 9 and thoroughly enjoyed the evening. Wide selection of food on the menu, there is something for everyone. 11 of their own beer on tap! Highly recommended.
My daughter really enjoyed the root-beer. I was hoping your cider would have been available. The food was very good, and our server very friendly and helpful! Definitely a place to go back to with friends!
We had a great time but I fear in the not to distant future it will be impossible to get a table at your establishment. It was a very enjoyable evening and I look forward to doing it again. I love the fact than we can still sit outside even in the winter and enjoy our meal. There were four of us for dinner and each one of us had a great meal, there were no complaints and many compliments. All the workers, from the welcome when we came in the door to our server were friendly and helpful as well as very knowledgeable about the restaurant and the menu. Keep up the great work.
Brews were pretty good, the 2 sampler options are great way to taste all. Nothing stuck out on menu with WOW factor. Ribs are their specialty I wish they marketed that better. Night time ambience was awesome and the live entertainer in outdoor covered area was trying to hard to be artistic with his voice and music and was wrong setting for R&B. need upbeat energetic entertainment, yes it was a wed night but he sung us out of a drinking mood and the bar.
Sandwich or burgers are a great choice...pulled pork, fried chicken and cheeseburgers were all good. Great kid's menu...the 8 mini corn dogs and home made chips was a big hit! Nice play area for the kids while waiting. The enclosed porch seating was nice, covered, but like being outside. Our waitress was great. On leaving I bought a Wild Wolf T shirt and am now a walking ad. Fun night!
BBQ sandwich great! Burger okay and Reuben sandwich was good. Boneless wings really good!
Beer good, especially the pumpkin ale. Our waitress was great but service out of kitchen extremely slow!!! Ordered dessert waited 20-25 minutes and finally told waitress to forget it and bring us our check. Manager on duty was stellar and wanted to know why our experience was bad. It's ashame he's leaving, cause he is awesome! Likely will not return.
My husband and I loved this place on our first visit, but I wasn't quite as impressed this second time. The first time we ate outside, which was lovely. We had the cheese-stuffed jalapenos, which were awesome. This time we went back with a bigger group of friends and ate inside. My beloved peppers were gone, but the bacon-jalapeno cheese fries were a decent substitute. It felt like our food took a really long time -- somewhat understandable since we were a party of nine, but no one ordered anything complicated. My burger was ok, kind of room temperature and the cheese wasn't melted. My husband said the same. Beers were as tasty as before, and our group had a good time. We'll go back, but in a smaller group and with a different order.
