The staff was very helpful. Service was excellent. Great food, great organic menu. Amazing drinks .
One of our favorite restaurants. Consistently delicious, clean, healthy food! Attentive service, warm and friendly atmosphere.
Spectacular! Amazing service and fresh outstanding food!
All these great reviews prompted my friends into trying this place. The place is dark and dingy. An outdated website left us disappointed immediately as we had already selected our meals. The majority of their menu is spicy which not everyone can do. Our orders were all mixed up and it took us forever, or never, to get things were asked for. We just gave up. There aren't that many tables there yet the staff seemed overwhelmed and unable to keep to the needs of their assigned tables. And, the food is way over priced. If you decide to try it, I hope you have a better experience.
I really love this place but it is very pricey. The food is excellent and the drinks wonderful. It is just over priced for me to continue to dine here.
Way too loud. Food (salmon) was not enjoyable, but other food was tasty. Pizza is excellent - the best thin crust I've ever had.
Dessert was not impressive, served in plastic cups. Coffee was served in paper cups. They need to get a dishwasher. Too expensive for anything but a special occasion, but not romantic enough for a special occasion.
We have been here several times before and loved the food and service. Unfortunately, although our server was nice, she got one order completely wrong (no we didn’t send it back-not our way). My salad wasn’t good. They took the best kale salad off the menu, and the cous cous salad was small and bland. We will not be heading back any time soon.
Great food Friendly comfortable environment upbeat 😁
The food and the craft beers are great. Loved the shrimp tempura. Great service, lively atmosphere.
Waited 35 minutes for a 3:00 reservation on Mother's Day. Then the food took a hour and now I'm still here waiting for dessert and it's 5:30 ! Menu is very expensive and portions were very small! This was not worth it!! I'm very disappointed!!!
Been here many times and always had a great meal ok service but this time was a deal maker the service was terrible waited almost two hours for two pizzas my friends meal came 45 min before ours and we had three waitresses tell us three different stories.
Bottom line they care more about their take out orders then their reg customers . Not sure I’ll be seeing them for a long while.
Delicious vegan and vegetarian options but the band was annoyingly loud. The owner kindly asked the band to lower the volume. Acoustic musicians would be more appropriate to the setting.
Great restaurant and a lovely place to dine. Nice views of the bay and the Shinnecock inlet. The staff was very friendly and attentive. The food was well prepared and tasty. Plenty of parking.
WOW! WOW! WOW! Had dinner at Wild Side Bistro in Oakdale tonight. What a find!!! The food was so delicious, creative and flavorful! Everything is organic. Lots of vegetarian and vegan choices, but many fish and meat options too. We had these lamb balls that were so OUTSTANDING! They were a little spicy, cumin, turmeric, chili paste... beautifully presented too. Then we shared the chicken tikka masala pizza. You heard me right. Fantastic! Then we shared the mahi mahi in a coconut curry sauce. My only complaint is that you eat off of paper plates. Weird. But I’m definitely going back!
Cute little casual place in Oakdale. Food and drinks are so good with some nice healthier menu items. A lot of the food has an Indian feel with the spices that they use. I had a great mango tequila drink called the kissy yo mama. Superb. Kaitlin our waitress was great as well. Very knowledgeable about the menu and made some great recommendations. Can’t wait to be back
Went for dinner. Started out promising but two pizzas took more than 40 minutes to delivery, despite multiple assurances that they would "be out in a minute". That would be tolerable but we weren't offered a comp on drinks or an appetizer while sitting there waiting...and waiting... Pizzas were good once we got them.
Food and service was great
i was not told when I made the reservation for 10 -4weeks ago-that it would be a special menu and not the menu on line-the portions were small -the menu very limited-no vegetarian options for "easter menu" -our reservation was 2pm After we finished our meal we saw people ordering off on line menu which apperared to be many more options-the waitress Marissa was very helpful-will try once more for on line menu-
Started with great drinks...artisanal cocktails...really good. Apps were next, really different flavors, very fresh...delicious.
Main courses were incredible as well...great service, nice pace...loved it!
Another great experience. Exciting menu with lots of fresh different choices. Great place for vegans and those that like a gluten free meal
Excellent food and service!
Enjoyed the many organic and gluten free options.
Very good. The brick oven thin pizza was amazing. Salads delicious!
Our waitress and everyone there were so friendly ....excellent!!
I took two friends there separate in one week. My first week there. Love it.
Dining for 2 adults, 2 kids age 5 and 3. Order: kids burger with fries, cheese pizza, chicken tikka masala pizza, roasted baby eggplant with potatoes and Indian spices. Waitress forgot to “fire” the chicken tikka pizza and lied about it stating some nonsense about only having one pizza oven. There were 4 tables, two of which had their food and one who just placed their order. The manager apologized and told truth as to why food took FOREVER To come out. 2 of the 4 baby eggplant were undercooked: served in a small, deep bowl made in nearly impossible to cut the eggplant. Pizzas $15, $20 for entree. Chicken tikka was beautifully seasoned, delicious. Restaurant is a bit confusing as burger was served on a silver cafeteria type tray. Little things bothered me : server station was not stocked so waitress had to go into kitchen for silverware (reservation was 5:30 pm) and the artwork is leaning against the wall like someone just moved in and weren’t done decorating. Color scheme is cool. Bathrooms clean. Due to poor service with only 4 working tables, undercooked high priced dish, weird ambiance , and confusing concept will not go back. Too expensive. Too bad because the food is good. If you aren’t picky about service and properly cooked food, give it a go.
Brick oven Pizza is worth the wait, order an appetizer and drinks and be patient
This place was overpriced and the portions small. They were out of a few items on the menu. Food was average. Will NOT be back. Rip off!
Interesting flavor combinations. Something different. Loved all of the gluten free options on the menu. Highly recommend the cauliflower balls, chicken sandwich and rice pudding. Quiet live music.
Great!!! Not my first visit and will definitely go back.
Excellent service. Wonderful atmosphere and great food
Very nice dining experience. Interesting menu. Everything we had was really tasty and creative. Live music was a nice touch. Our servers were friendly and engaging. The owners stopped by the table to say “hello” and to make sure everyone was satisfied. That’s always appreciated.
The food was OK; my salmon was overcooked. In fact I ordered a different type of fish (red snapper?) and the waitress did not tell me that they were out of it, and brought me salmon, which I was quite unhappy about-- it is not what I would have ordered. To their credit, the second waitress who dealt with us was very apologetic and gave me a free cappuccino. For some reason all of the utensils were plastic-- even the coffee was served in a paper cup and the dessert was served in disposable plates-- which really cheapened the experience. Perhaps they had a good reason for this, but they did not make that known to us, and for a place that tries to give an environmentally-conscious feel, it was quite surprising to see so much disposable stuff. The fish and appetizer were even served on paper on a metal tray-- not wax paper, actual colored paper-- which I hope was food-safe, but in any case soaked up some of the sauce that I would have preferred to enjoy. It was a good value for restaurant week (they offered their full menu) but I would have been quite disappointed if I had to pay full prices and got what I did. This was our second time at this restaurant-- we tried it when it was still in Hicksivlle-- and both times we were excited about their "organic" menu and left underwhelmed. No plans to go back.
I found Wild Side on TripAdvisor. I was so excited because the menu looked awesome. There weren't too many photos of the restaurant itself online so I wasn't sure what to expect. We arrived around 12:45. The decor was...meh. Bright orange and dark redish-orange. There were maybe 15 tables of which 3 were occupied, and a bar. We decided to sit at the bar because there was a brick oven located there that seemed kinda cool. We were greeted by one of the owners who was rolling balls of dough for brick oven pizza and an awkward bartender who painted herself to look like a drag queen. The second owner was on the other side of the bar with a child, laptop and messy stack of books/papers. I hate to sound mean but both were very off-putting. The ambiance was definitely lacking but I was still very excited for the food, especially after reading on the menu that the owners are "foodies". We decided to split the potato sliders as an appetizer, and ordered the butternut squash ravioli and snapper as our entrees. It was also pretty chilly out so I ordered a specialty toddy off of the cocktail menu. YUCK. The bartender then came over and placed PAPER PLATES and DISPOSABLE UTENCILS in front of us. The appetizers came out pretty quickly. There were 2 sizable patato balls smushed between slider buns, sitting in some sort of red condiment which made them impossible to pick up and weird to eat with the plastic fork and knife. It was basically a spicy Indian samosa on a bun. It wasn't bad, it wasn't great. We then waited about 45 minutes for our entrees only to be told they were out of snapper. It was replaced by a piece of salmon that had definitely been frozen because it came out smelling quite 'fishy' and had a strange texture. My raviolis came out in a bowl of tomato sauce, all stuck together. The owner WAS quite attentive throughout and did remove the salmon from the bill. I'd still not return here or recommend it to a friend. VERY DISAPPOINTING.
One of our favorite places. It's great that they have so many gluten-free options and will happily accommodate other dietary needs as well. Jay's (lamb) Balls and Bombay Gumbo are to die for! Brought a friend there for lunch last week. She loved the Scallops appetizer and the Persian Fried Chicken Sandwich, of course had a taste of everything we ordered, and plans to return. My daughter adores the Shrimp Tempura. The Autumn and Winter salads can't be missed, so refreshing with a combination of wonderful flavors. Save room for dessert. We shared the Buttermilk Panna Cotta, which is so light and delicious, you can enjoy it even if you are stuffed. Great service, funny waiter, we all had a good time. We live in Long Beach, so don't get there as often as we'd like, but any time we are in the area or can figure out a reason to go east, Wild Side is our first choice for lunch or dinner!
Food was delicious! My family will definitely return. Very nice people and family owned business.
Love the place
Excellent food, friendly staff. Enjoyed a lovely birthday dinner.
Great concept but did not deliver on taste. The food was blah at best, they were out of many items on the menu, and everything was overpriced. The service was good though, and the place was decent.
Excellent and flavorful food!
Had brunch here and we were the only people in the restaurant for at least one hour. It was off the beaten path, drinks were good, service was good but for the amount we paid, I would expect a lot more in comparison to other brunches I’ve had for the same price being that this was very pricey for brunch ($32). I didn’t think it lived up to the hype and certainly not to my expectations.
Great food, great service. Creative menu. Be prepared to eat on a paper plates and use plastic cutlery- but detracted not at all from the experience.
We came here at the recommendation of a customer that had a good favorable impression from your Hicksville location. They and we were disappointed. The paper plates and plastic forks need to GO! The Beef Burger was good. But, the over all experience lacked. The menu was very limited, especially if you are not Vegan and maybe that is the issue, in that this should be solely marketed for Vegetarian dinning.
