This is one of the best restaurants you will ever eat at in your life! Friendly atmosphere, owners, and wait staff. Food is amazing! I live in Florida but whenever I come up to Long Island to visit family and friends I make it a point to eat here!
First time at this place, but had known about it since it opened. Waited a really long time for our first round of drinks (and second). It was Friday, there was live music, and it seemed busy but not overcrowded. Appetizers actually came out before our ordered signature menu drinks. Appetizers were ok, we had cauliflower balls, Jays balls, basic salad. Two in our party ordered the gumbo and loved it. We also ordered two pizzas. They were equally delicious!! I will be going back for the pizza!
Excellent food and service. Each dish is prepared with care and innovation. A great place to try new tastes!
Overall this place is great! Went for the $33 bottomless brunch. Delicious bloody mary, and the brunch pizza is a must! And those short ribs and eggs I could eat every day! I found the gumbo lacking salt and the plating between 2 of our dishes was really inconsistent. Try the carrot cake dessert, I could have done without the mango rice dessert, just wasnt for me. There was a big party there so it seemed like we were there for a really long time, but the service is good and she kept the drinks coming so in the end I didnt really mind.
Live music was great! Food was absolutely amazing! Lots of vegan options! Such a nice atmosphere with genuine staff.
A great place with a different menu. If you enjoy spiced, flavor filled food, Chef Jay provides a treat. We ate vegan and a brick oven pizza and took food home.
On Saturday night there was an excellent band that managed to play a nice variety of styles, still allowed for diners to have conversation at the table.
Went for a special dinner with my wife. Wonderful atmosphere, great service and outstanding food.
The most disappointing thing about our meal was that the full menu was not available, and we had selected the restaurant based on the menu options. Instead, it was a very limited price-fixed menu which, while a good value, was not as appealing as the regular every day menu. We were totally unaware that the full menu was not offered the night we dined, and while my wife enjoyed the food she chose, I was not thrilled with the excessive spices on the options I selected (and I’m a fan of spicy food in general, I just thought it was overdone in this case). I would possibly try the restaurant again when the full menu was available, it I don’t think I’d go out of my way to do so.
Excellent food and service. Loved the healthy choices!
High quality organic and local ingredients combined in clever ways to form dishes that are familiar yet new again. Great music, not too loud, relaxed friendly atmosphere where patrons easily turn into friends. Highly recommended! The Sunday brunch is outstanding as well!
You have to really enjoy spicey/hot food to enjoy 95% of their food. I don't like that so there are few things that I can order. Wood fire pizza oven are great but you can't control how the pizza cooks so often it comes out burnt. Owners are extremely friendly as well as their staff. Lobster mac & cheese is fantastic!! Menu has different items then the norm.
We try to eat here a few tines a year. Recommend using Open table for reservations as there are only about 10 tsbles.
Excellent food, excellent service and outstanding live music!! Food is clean and fresh and prepared to order. The bar is lively and the service is excellent. Fun place to meet up with friends, have a drink, eat some good food and enjoy the entertainment. Look for the acoustic duo Mango/Basar. They're terrific!!
Love the Kale Pizza. I go to this resturant every time I am in the area. The pizza is always delicious!
Excellent service. Great vegetarian options. Food is always good but somewhat inconsistent.
Great mix of food for meat-eaters and vegan/vegetarians alike! Good spice on a lot of the food, and our server was incredibly friendly and fun to talk to!
Service was good. The choices were limited by either a pre fixe brunch or the regular menu. No breakfast/brunch items were available unless you ordered the brunch, which cost more since drinks were included and two of the three of us were not drinking alcohol. I ordered the breakfast pizza which was a special brunch item. The two other brunch entrees came out first, and they said my pizza would be out soon. Being gracious, my friends insisted on waiting and their food got cold. My Pizza came out and the crust was burnt. I was told it was normal for the pizza oven, but it was inedible. The toppings were bacon, which was not cooked through (almost raw) and the eggs were very runny. The crust in the middle was extremely soggy. They offered me the Margarita pie, which I then had to wait for, by then everyone had finished their meal. It was not a brunch item, so it probably was less than the value I paid for the “brunch”. The gumbo appetizer was just ok and the dessert (pannecatta) was the best part of the meal. It was also very cold inside the main part of the dining room. The other two appetizers and the entrees were really good according to my friends. Mine not so much.
We went here with friends for my birthday and had an excellent experience. We had the scallops, jays balls, various pizzas, the lobster mac and cheese and a couple of salads followed by the desserts. All were very tasty and well prepared. It was the owners birthday too so a double celebration. Live music was a nice touch. Only knock is the paper plates.
A little pricey - very small restaurant. The food was delicious but the service was a little slow.
3rd time there and loving it! Food is so tasty and amazing. Servers are so helpful and you never feel rushed. They allow you to enjoy your entire experience without pushing through the meal . Can't wait for the next visit. Definitely worth a visit!
always one of our favorite local restaurants. Food is consistently good and has a different twist to it. Very enjoyable
Waiter was unfriendly, disorganized and not accommodating for people with allergies or health issues. Menu is limited to people who can eat spicy food unless you want pizza but this certainly was not a pizza restaurant.
We were a party of 8 . Place was uncomfortable, poor service and limited food choices. All in all it’s less than a star for me
Nice servers but service was slow
Food was a bit dissapointing.
Asked for medium burger came well done.
Absolutely fabulous. The food couldn’t be better. I no longer want to eat anywhere else. And it’s organic. The owners really care and are hands on. This is a special place that’s priced right.
2nd time there and experienced the Fall menu this time which was wonderful food. Live music again, fun atmosphere. Anyone could go here and not be disappointed. Unless of course you are looking for a cheap meal and fast food type offerings.
Interesting variety of food. One of their pizza's was recently (10/2018) ranked #3 on all of Long Island. We had it and loved it.
This is our go-to place for a locally sourced, organic meal. Our usual order is a seasonal salad and a margarita pie. A glass or two of wine and maybe one of the delicious desserts make for a great night. We recently popped in on a Saturday night and a very cool jazz band was playing. Turned out to be a perfect night - 100%
It seemed that there were 4 different things we ordered only to be told they were out of it, here's a novel idea, how about telling someone as they look at the menu exactly what you don't have, instead of hoping they don't order it. I also felt they were trying to be too many things to too many peoples dietary restrictions. either be vegan or don't, either be gluten free or don't. pick one.
Went with a friend who has limitation to what she can eat and I'm plant based, the menu offers easy to identify options with some that can be made vegan. They had some GF, Paleo friendly options. There is something for everyone here. Food was very tasty and menu changes. There was music on Friday, not overpowering, you could still hold a conversation without talking or screaming. Local beer options, fun decor. Would go again!
I love Wild Side. I used to go to West East Bistro in Hicksville where I live. Then they moved to Oakdale and I don’t mind the drive at all if I want good, authentic food with lots of flavors. The pizzas are amazing! My husband and I went on a date and they had live acoustic guitar playing. I ordered the ramen off the special menu which was delicious! Can’t wait to go back!
Will definitely recommend to friends and will return.
Best food I’ve had in a long time! I will definitely be going back. Service was great. Staff was great.
Had a reservation for 4 people. Got there and there was one table left with 3 chairs at it. Waitress went somewhere else and brought back some mismatched chair but no big deal, right? Sat down and I swear I thought the table had only one leg! The top was ready to fall off. It was so dangerous you couldn’t even put a drink in it. This obviously didn’t just happen and There was only one waitress for the whole place too. We wound up leaving after 2-3 minutes disgusted. Someone over there obviously doesn’t give a crap about their establishment. I mean come on, not enough chairs for your tables? Tables falling apart? Why pay 4 waiters/waitresses when one can kill her self? Told my friend the next day about it and he confirmed that he waited “forever” for his meal too. It’s a shame because they seemed to have an interesting menu, I hope they get their act together someday.
I went because I heard that they offered gluten free entrees, and they sure did!
They have AMAZING GF options and the restaurant is strong enough that non-GF people would love it as well.
I will definitely be back and I would recommend to everyone.
Found this place because my husband and I were looking for something close to a regional theatre that we were seeing a show at. This place has food from vegan to meat. I would say that a person would have to be a bit adventurous, as the combinations are quite creative. The restaurant is small, the tables are well spaced and the noise level was low. We met one half of the couple that owns the restaurant...she was very friendly and helpful as was our waitress.
The rice pudding that we shared for dessert was wonderful as were all the dishes that we sampled, including roasted cauliflower balls, a "porridge" featuring brown rice and Indian spices, ravioli stuffed with a mixture that featured peas. You see what I mean.
I would go back!
Good music, interesting menu...Service was not up to par...waitress was abrupt and
not inviting...was running around like a chicken without a head, was moving
chairs around and I was hit by one she was carrying as I was getting up to go
to bathroom...Look for another waitress!!!
It’s not cheap but the food is well worth it’s cost in flavor & taste.
Yes, they serve on paper plates. However, the quality of the food more than makes up for it. We ate al fresco because the weather was beautiful. Unfortunately, there's a lot of truck traffic on the street, so it was a bit noisy. As for the food...my friends and I shared some appetizers; cauliflower balls and beet salad. As I'm a vegan, they were very accommodating and put cheese on the side. Both dishes were tasty and fresh. We each ordered a personal, oven fire-roasted pizza. The crust was thin and crispy. Two friends had eggplant and one had Bianca. I ordered the vegan kale. We were all pleased and each took home half a pizza. We immediately decided that we would return for a future luncheon.
The staff was very helpful. Service was excellent. Great food, great organic menu. Amazing drinks .
One of our favorite restaurants. Consistently delicious, clean, healthy food! Attentive service, warm and friendly atmosphere.
