Wild Onion Tied House
We chose the name Wild Onion in honor of the origins of Chicago’s name. “Che-cau-gua” was the phrase the original inhabitants of the region, the Potawatomi, used to describe the wild onions that grew throughout the area’s wetlands near the shores of Lake Michigan. We loved the imagery of the early French Canadian fur traders paddling their canoes down the Chicago River, surrounded by the distinctly aromatic wild onions as they approached the “big lake”. We believed it was the perfect name for a new brewery with old ties to the city.
Our server was fantastic - friendly and helpful and able to make good recommendations. The food was yummy and the beer delicious! Social distance guidelines were followed, masks were required and sanitizing was frequent. Overall a super night out
Service was excellent and the food was delicious!
Absolutely delicious! Great food, great beer, and doing a great job with distancing during COVID.
Thoroughly enjoyed the food and the beer, I will definitely be back!
Always love going here. We decided to eat outside because if Covid and felt very comfortable.
Very good. Our waiter was very cool and knowledgeable
Always a great experience, definitely one of our favorite places.
Nice place to grab a weeknight dinner. Great servers!
Enjoyed the food and the beer flights.
We sat outside and it started raining but we still had a great time.
Food was OK, beer was good. We sat outside so it was a little loud next to the trains and busses, but we expected that. I usually prefer to sit and eat at the bar, but you know, Covid.
Reso and outdoor table was ready when we arrived. Great social distancing in place. Large portioms. Great value. Our server Chris was fabulous. Overall, I loved this experience!
Service and food were excellent!
Great place. The buffalo cauliflower "wings" were superb.
Wild Onion is my favorite place to go! My friends and I are regulars because of how great the food, service, and drinks are.
We’re regulars. Good food, beer, service. Nice to be back.
Nice outdoor area. The food was good, I enjoyed the loaded Mac & cheese. They also have a good variety of drinks. Would go there again.
Buffalo cauliflower was a little bland and a little colder than expected. However, the Reuben and the beer were fantastic as usual. Our waitress was also very professional and did a wonderful job.
Great place and I highly recommend fish and chips.
Great place and super accommodating!
The chef is amazing! He has vegan options that are really good.
Went here since they had an open patio. Food was really good. Beer was better. Next to the train station though so you have to pause your conversation occasionally but still a good time. I’d go here again.
Enjoyed dining al fresco after the pandemic.
Loved their beer and the food was fantastic. I highly recommend
Always enjoy food, service and Music. Lindee Cavalier were great!
Casual restaurant/brewery. Good staples and great beer selection as well as interesting cocktails. Very friendly, competent, and attentive service. Prices abut high
We went on Valentine's Day so the atmosphere was energetic. We really liked the special menu that night, as it made the choice simple. Service was really good and we enjoyed the live singer that night. We will return another time for sure.
Everything were very good food, music, service
My partner and I had a terrific Valentines Day dinner at Wild Onion. We both loved the fried pickles, Reuben paninis, and the sides of mac and cheese. The Wild Onion Weltschmerz was a perfect beer accompaniment. Tim, our server, was friendly and attentive. It was our first visit, and it won't be the last. Highly recommended.
Buffalo cauliflower was the best!! Drink selection is minimal and their website is outdated so they didn't have items I had my heart set on. Overall B-
Such a great experience at Wild Onion. We had a large group and put waitress was great, dry attentive but not overbearing, knowlegable on the menu and very friendly and efficient. Everything we ordered off the menu was delish and food came out quickly and together. I would highly recommend and we will definitely be returning!
Always great!for family and live music on weekends
Great casual “public house” style brewpub. Buffalo cauliflower was great and pastrami Reuben was outstanding — house smoked pastrami was a standout
Great food. Friendly staff. Love the candied bacon
This was my first visit to Wild Onion Tied House. I went to see a very talented musician perform and quite enjoyed the restaurant. It's very welcoming and intimate, but not too small. The staff is extremely friendly and very attentive. The food and drinks were delicious and I had a very enjoyable night. I would definitely recommend this place and I know I'll be heading back there again soon.
Very slow service
Food was great! From fried pickles to the sandwich. Service was fast and accurate. Great place to dine in and relax.
Wife and I love this place. Good food, great beer selection
Great craft beer selection and awesome menu. Wife and I love this place
Our server, Miranda, was awesome. Explained the beers, bar bites and menu perfectly.
