The Wild Oak Restaurant and Wine Bar is situated in picturesque Olinda, on top of Mt Dandenong in the heart of the Dandenong Ranges, a 50 min scenic drive from Melbourne. Ben is passionate about the quality of fresh local produce. At Wild Oak he believes that these high quality ingredients enable Wild Oak to create a unique and exquisite culinary experience. Specialising in modern Australian cuisine with strong classical French accents, Wild Oak strives to use localized seasonal produce and sustainable food primarily from the rich soils of the neighbouring Yarra Valley and the Ranges.     Overall the meal was good. Very disappointed with the Angus Beef, very chewy and not good value.

    One of our favourite restaurants. Amazing to have such a gourmet option so close to us, and not have to go inner city.

    Staffs were very attentive to details and friendly. Very professional and good knowledge on their food.Food were great from start till the end. Definitely recommended. And we will visit again in the near future.

    The food is always good. The service is friendly without being in your face or gushing. The waiter explained how everything was prepared. The coffee and dessert was to die for.

    The food here is to die for and , to get 3 courses for $35 makes it outstanding for a lunch time Get together

    Did book online, only to be met with 'we only check the bookings in the morning'. Didn't really mind waiting for a table but I had specified it was a special occasion could we have a nice table, didn't happen. The food was overpriced for the offerings and quality in my mind, my portion size was minuscule with half the duck leg missing, the whole meal was smothered in fake sauce that really detracted from the duck. Bread on the pate was stale, and my partners jus was very watery.

    The chicken with the wild mushroom was incredibly yum, as was the Bomb Alaska, the kangaroo wasn't that great, the scallops a little too overpowered with ginger. Still loved it, has a great menu, a nice cosy space. Is also in the entertainment book, so was a great way to try it and see how you like it!

    We were pretty disappointed when we saw our plates coming out, as paying high 30ies for a main you expect something real good and it wasn't. The salmon (only fish on the menu!) was served on a lick of mashed potato puree with a few dots of something else. Although the salmon was cooked well, the rest of the plate did not add any value to a piece of fish I could have cooked myself easily and presented better.This restaurant is far off where it used to be 10 to 12 years ago!
