Wild Ginger McKenzie- South Lake Union
Super attentive server, amazing cocktails (I’m picky), and great food!
Quintessential Seattle dining experience! The 7 flavor beef and sea bass are a MUST.
The Ahi Tuna dish was very bland. The portions are small for the price. Probably will not return on a regular basis
I love this place! Wild Ginger always meets the same standard of excellence in food and service
Our first visit to a restaurant since COVID. We felt very safe and also as "normal" as you could expect. Food was outstanding. The specialty cocktails were truly unique and helped make the outing special. Service hit the sweet spot - very attentive without hovering.
so delicious! wonderful service! recommend the duck.
We had a great dinner at Wild Ginger. In the post/mid-covid world,
The staff was extremely friendly. The food and cocktails were delicious and thoughtfully prepared and presented. My friend and I had such a great time chatting and reconnecting post-shutdown that we lost track of time and stayed past intended closing (so sorry), but the staff was super kind and didn’t make us feel unwelcome as so many restaurants do.
Our server Chris(I think that was his name) was wonderful. Attentive but not overbearing and very personable! The food is fresh and extremely flavorful! We will continue to return to dine at Wild Ginger!
Food amazing as always, but felt really safe eating there given the precautions they’d put in place and the rearranged seating. Very well done
Wild Ginger is one of our favorites however this time the duck wasn't as good as it has been in the past. The skin was soggy when it should be crispy. The sauce on the tuna dish wasn't very good either (seems like they changed the recipe maybe) . The service was great though. The kids really enjoyed their fried rice and egg noodle dishes.
The food was good. I don't envy any restauranteur opening a restaurant using the state guidelines right now. Service was adequate but not anticipatory; slow but probably due to the challenge of reopening. I called earlier and spoke with the GM to get recommendations on ways we could make the evening special as I was proposing marriage. He wasn't very helpful, the staff seemed unaware, and he made no attempt to touch the table even though I cued the host. I understand that it was probably a logistically difficult evening. There was a well-dressed BLM person throwing marquis promotional restaurant signs and parking signs in the direction of patrons on the patio in a "black privileged" feigned outrage. Patrons put it back together once the unruly person departed. Of course, no police or management presence...so give thought to your safety in this area while dining, especially on the patio. Seattle is the "woke" wild wild west.
Oscar was a wonderful server. Your food is amazing and we were happy to be there on the first day of in person dining after COVID-19.
Excellent service. Delicious food and thoughtfully curated cocktails.
We appreciate being able to go back to one of our favorite restaurants although we had new been to this location.
Really great tastes and innovative
As always, the food was impeccable – inventive and delicious, and the service was exceptional. I love this place!
Food and service were excellent. Great environment for a business lunch
The food was good. Our favorite were the duck rolls with plum sauce. I would go back again.
Kitchen seemed off and slow – we ordered 8 or more dishes and they arrived two at a time making for a long dinner. Half the dishes was nicely seasoned, the other half much too salty. Service was also off which could be due to the large party/table of 10-12 next to us – but the restaurant was rather empty... a somewhat disappointing experience.
As always, a perfect meal. Great wine, service, and food. Happy to have Wild Ginger in the neighborhood.
We took our 10-year-old daughter there. We loved the kids menu. The food was completely delicious and the staff was attentive and helpful. We always order the duck, but I also had the skewers the potstickers and a delicious lettuce cup entrée with black cod.
Food and staff were excellent! Love that parking is free in Amazon building after 4pm.
Wonderful food servic and atmosphere. Will be back soon!
Always amazing. Get the green beans.
Terrible customer service. Never again.
Perfect Valentine’s Day dinner!❤️
A female colleague and I, also a female, dropped in on February 14th, for lunch. The hostess assumed we were a couple (perhaps because it was Valentine's Day). It was awkward. I ordered an appetizer and we planned to share it. The hostess and a server were busy chatting and even though I tried to get their attention, I finally got up and got two plates so we could eat the appetizer.
My meal was flavorless and I did not eat it and my bill was adjusted. My colleagues meal, according to her, was great. Overall, nothing special and not worth the cost.
The reservation was offered with a Happy Hour special despite the reservation being at the end of the Happy Hour and having to have that made everyone excited even more. Sadly, it was not even mentioned by the receptionist nor the server and when asked just responded bluntly that it is over Happy Hour. Ended the topic there from that response. Also, asked for something that could represent sort of a cake or something of similar fashion as the get together was to send off a long time colleague. It was in the reservation notes and it was not even mentioned by the server.
Excellent service and food. Only complain is that the interior (concrete, glass etc.) does not absorb sounds so loud larger groups can really be hard to hear over.
Living up to Wild Gingers reputation for quality and service. The 45 minute express menu perfect for a business lunch.
Delicious food! We had potstickers, the 7 flavor beef, pineapple prawn curry, and Mongolian noodles. All delicious! Service was great and ambiance was lovely. Bottles of wine were all half off so enjoyed a nice french sauv blanc. Overall nice spot for a causal date night before a concert!
Such a great place for great food & great conversation.
The food was good, as usual. The restaurant was pretty busy the night we ate there, so service was friendly but slow. Each of our dishes came out separately and it would have been nice if they had come to our table closer together so we weren't eating only one thing at a time. But over all, it's a really nice place to dine and the fact that parking is free after 4:00 pm in the Amazon garage kitty-corner to the restaurant is a real plus.
I wish I could give much better review. Waited 15 mins to check in, hostess decided to set up waiting area table for dinner in plain view of 10+ guests waiting to check in, had to request different table (plenty available) then had to wait another 15 mins, got seated at table by the bathroom/service access (was told other table were reserved but no one showed), food was mediocre, some dishes were served at room temperature (chicken 65 & fried rice). The only highlight was friendly service staff.
Great waiter, great service. Food was yummy. Surprised that whole block isn’t hopping with young people dining out. Seems generational and a big bummer to the ethos of seattle if this town becomes a big Uber eats, Netflix at home culture.
Didn’t meet their SLA for the power lunch. Had to get the food to go. They comp’ed the lunch though.
Maybe it was an "off night"? I've been here many times and last night, it was just disappointing - except for the food, which was excellent as usual (and expected). It took over 10 minutes to get our drinks and then one (of three) entrees was delivered and another 10 minutes before the others turned up. If you ask if we want the courses together, then serve them together.
Great happy hour with a lovely server! My husband and I shared chicken satay, pot stickers, spicy chicken wings and a fantastic cabbage and chicken salad from the main menu. All delicious and filling. Drinks were affordable (I had the house Chardonnay—excellent, and my husband had the Tamarind Whiskey Sour, which he enjoyed—off the happy hour menu). Highly recommend for happy hour and you can’t beat the free parking at The Reinvent Garage on weekends from Amazon.
Preferred the other locations, food was different at this location. It was still good, but different than what we were used to at Wild Ginger.
