At lunch time on Saturday, Wild Ginger was relatively empty. So you'd think the food would be better prepared and the service attentive.

Unfortunately, the duck felt like microwaved left overs from last night. It was even inconsistently heated, part of it warm and part cold. The other entrees were half heartedly prepared.

The Bellevue location is poorly managed, and seems like there is no quality control or supervision.

Wild Ginger is a great restaurant and a Seattle Institution. Go to the Third Avenue venue and skip Bellevue. Acoustics are horrible.

I’ve loved Wild Ginger for years, and I hope this was an anomaly vs the new normal. First, it was super loud, so my friend and I had to yell to hear each other. The Coconut martini seemed smaller/weaker than in the past. My friend ordered a fizzy wine drink that came flat. And it seems like prices have gone way up ($4 PER chicken satay skewer? They’re good but not THAT good!). All in all, not a great experience or value, and certainly not what I’m accustomed to there.

Try not to write negative reviews. Will probably give this restaurant another chance. This, however, was a disappointing visit to Wild Ginger. Initially, hostess wanted to seat us directly adjacent to wait station/kitchen entrance, even though we had a long standing reservation and had made a request for a table that would afford a “hearing disabled “ guest a chance to hear conversation. Hostess did seat us at a booth after a 15 minute wait. Once our party had reviewed the menu, two of us decided on the “princess prawn” entree. Unfortunately, during the ordering process, we were told that they were out of the princess prawn dish. You would have thought that our waiter would inform us of menu changes or shortages when we were given the menu. My colleague was bold enough to ask why would you run-out of a popular dish at 7:40pm on a Saturday night??? We really didn’t get a complete answer. Just a shrug and “I don’t know.” The rest of the evening (food, service) was average/slightly above. The noise level at the Bellevue WG restaurant is loud. Not sure energetic really informs potential guests. It’s much louder than the Bravern location.

Wonderful food but service was a little slow. The server may have thought we just wanted extra time at the table since there were several of us but overall the food was fantastic! Highly recommend!

All was good but young male bartender just was not friendly and I had to ask him for everything. He was very friendly to beautiful young women though. We had happy hour before dinner. Table of 7

I've been to the downtown location and this was my first time in the Bellevue restaurant. The asparagus was extremely tough (couldn't bite into the stem) and the chicken dish was mediocre. Won't be back.

Wine selection was great, plenty of choices. Loved the 50% off bottles on Mondays. Potstickers were so good. Salmon was great, butter chicken was great. Thank you for serving S.Pellegrino and Acqua Panna. We enjoyed sitting by the open windows in the bar area. Nice to see the place with so many guests on a Monday evening.

The food was amazing, we all ordered different entrees and all were great. They were not full, but had us go to the bar to order a round THEN our table opened up. Sneaky way to spread out revenue in the restaurant....not cool and we saw right through their scheme.

Food is very good, although rather expensive! The service was great, as well as the drinks.
The salt and pepper prawns are really good.
The one problem I have with this place is that they have no public wireless, which is pretty strange for a restaurant in Bellevue. They tell you to use the Bellevue Collection wireless, which never works. They do have a wireless network there but they will not give you the password. I know in general you shouldn't be working at dinner, but sometimes you just need to for whatever reason, and there are a lot of tech workers in this area.
It's because of this I wouldn't recommend this as a good place to come to for now if you need to eat and also get some work done.

The noise was so load we could not hear one another.
The music was very load so every one had to shout in order to converse with the other one. Thus the noise level was horrible.

We are long-time Wild Ginger diners. Been eating at the Seattle location for more than 15 years. Were thrilled when they opened up in Bellevue as we live on the Eastside. Love the cocktails, the food, the service and the ambience. We go back at least four or five times a year and take friends as well.

The service was spot on, food was delicious and the restaurant is nicely decorated and comfortable (the large booths are great).

It was a little noisy, but that was because the table behind us was loud.

Service from the host desk and wait staff was good on this visit to the new location, particularly recognition of a special occasion. However, there were a few issues that will probably keep us from coming back for awhile as we watch for menu changes and to see how things settle in for the new location.
First issue was with food delivery. Dishes were ordered for individuals and not family share due to dietary and allergy restrictions.
Unfortunately entree course dishes were delivered over time instead of all at once like they were at the old Bellevue location. This presented a few problems:
- one diner still had no food 25 minutes after our first dish (a curry) was delivered for other diners. This created an awkward situation and really was too long a gap where we had to eat in front of that person who had no food at all.
- we had to request rice twice. By the time we got rice though, the curry (first dish delivered) was rather cold. At first we got a tiny bowl of undercooked rice. Perhaps that's why it had been delayed. Later we received a large bowl of properly cooked rice.

Other issue was the dishes just were okay in terms of flavor. Nothing exciting and not as good as previous highlight dishes like the monk's stew, tomato tofu, eggplant tofu, pad thai. The pad thai this time had different very thin noodles and just not much flavor.

In terms of the new space ambience, we were surprised by how many loud very young children were present even after 9pm on a Saturday evening.

At the previous location at the Bravern, Wild Ginger felt like fine dining. At the new location on Bellevue Way, it feels just a step above fast food. It may have been that is was a busy Saturday night so we were wedged in at a table for 2 in the 'corridor". The Green Curry Chicken has taken a hit as well, on this evening 3/24/18 it was mostly sauce with about 6-7 small cubes of chicken.

On a positive note, I have been there for lunch during the week and seated at a booth, the service and the food were much better.

Food was good, but I've had better. Beef dish at $21 was pricey. I've been to several other Excellent asian restaurants in Seattle/Bellevue where the dishes were better and $5-$7 cheaper. Happy Hour menu was not bad.. but could have had a better selection & not the best value.

Food in general was salty overall. Besides the saltiness, food was pretty bland. It felt like spices were missing from the selection of food we ordered. This wasn’t the Wild Ginger that we remembered from last year.

As a loyal Wild Ginger diner I was super unimpressed with the new Bellevue location. The food was not as good as my local Thai restaurant, the entrees arrived over 25 minutes apart for 4 people. The manager in the suit coat looked like he was completely miserable!
What was intended to be a birthday celebration for both my daughter and Mom was just a mediocre dinner with a $250 (pre tip) price tag for 4 people.
I’ve been a Wild Ginger patron from its inception and original location below/behind Pike Place Market. If only they’d stick with the flavors and dishes that work.
The Siam Lettuce Cups tasted watery and fishy. Spring rolls were just basic egg rolls. Kung Pow chicken was flavorless. Prawns were so full of peppers 🌶 you couldn’t taste the prawns.
The only dishes that were good were the seven flavor beef and the coconut ice cream.
Definitely not worth the trip to Bellevue...and certainly not worth the $.
I truly would not recommend at all. Utter disappointment.

The food was basically average. I expected better. The "7 Flavor Beef" left my dinner partner and I with a "WOW", but nothing else did. The ambience of the restaurant was also quite lacking. There is NO view of anything. It's not what I would have expected and certainly not equivalent to the Wild Ginger in downtown Seattle. Also one disturbing incident, an appetizer was delivered to my table. After a number of minutes a waiter came and asked if it was mine, I replied I didn't know (it didn't look like what I ordered) and he took it and gave it to the table behind me. I had actually touched some of the food on the dish that was going to fall off and I was a bit bothered by the fact that he didn't take it back to the kitchen for disposal. Overall, the dinner came to $100 for two and was ok but I don't think we'll be returning to that location again.
