Wild Garlic Grill
Wed- Sun 12:00PM-9:00PM
At the heart of the vibrant Tucson gastronomic scene is a quaint, family owned restaurant that has made a name for itself by combining the classical French education of Executive Chef Steven Schultz with the flavors of traditional southwest cuisine. Driven by the vision of casual fine dining that he shares with wife and owner Maudi Gourdin, the pair have managed to make The Wild Garlic Grill one of Tucson’s premiere destinations for food lovers from all walks of life. That all too familiar aroma of garlic will titillate your senses from the moment you step through the front door, followed instantly by the pageantry of Chef and his crew hard at work in the open kitchen where you can watch your meal as it is prepared. One can sense the warmth that emanates from their comradery and dedication and it doesn’t take long to notice that the front of house staff shares the same passion. It’s almost as if they are one big happy family…

Anniversary, I think this one of the best restaurants in Tucson
Food and Service was great as always. We had a real nice table outdoors with one exception. Our neighboring table was a group of about 6 or 7. One of their children was let loose and running all over the place, yelling, upstairs, downstairs (no mask) - basically under no parent supervision. The parents basically did nothing and let her run wild. A couple of times the father would speak to her and she would stamp her feet and shreek. I know this is a difficult situation for the restaurant staff, but it is the restaurant's obligation to make a wonderful setting for all their customers. Maybe they loose one customer (the shreeking girl's family) or do they want to loose several customers at surrounding tables
The overall experience was good. It was a Sunday night service so it was not as busy. However, during the service, there were a couple of mistakes done by our server. This was surprising because there are only a couple of tables occupied. First, they served wrong appetizer which was fortunately taken out anyway. Second, mistakenly giving the table drink which was not ordered. Third, the ice cream in the dessert was not swapped after she acknowledged the change. Nonetheless, the food was good serving size. Somehow this dinner experience was totally different versus all the other dinner experiences I had in this restaurant.
We have been here before , as always great service and fantastic food.
Wonderful experience. Great that they have been able to utilize the open courtyard area for socially distance dining during the Convid crisis. Tucson weather and the open sky view made this a delightful evening with absolutely delicious food and drinks.
Michele was most impressive. Her menu description was through and her recommendations above excellent.
Kudos to the kitchen... out of the park / over the top.
We were seated far from any others customers out in the plaza in center of all the buildings. It was a lovely temperature, but they did have heaters that could be requested. The service was very good, the menu had a wide selection, and our orders, osco bucco and sea bass, were delicious but too abundant so we both took food home for another dinner. Lots of wonderful vegetables included.
Wild Garlic is our go to place for special occasions. This time around we celebrated my husband's 88th birthday. We reserved a table outdoors and it was a very pleasant experience. Had no idea how lovely the patio is. Our server could not have been nicer, kinder and attentive, in spite of the fact that she was wearing a boot as a result of an injury. It is difficult for customers who are hard of hearing to understand people who have to wear masks because of the pandemic. Many people who wear hearing aids rely on lip reading as well. Our server went above and beyond in her efforts to communicate with us and we appreciate that.
Keep up the good work. I have a birthday coming up in February and look forward to another fabulous lunch at the Wild Garlic
We had an absolutely wonderful time on their outdoor patio. Our server was awesome, as was the rest of the staff we encountered. If anyone is concerned about eating out in these Covid times, no worries here. They followed all the guidelines and then some, but not to the point where we felt uncomfortable. The food couldn’t have been more delicious, kudos to the chef. I had the Sea of Cortez stuffed shrimp and fell in love with this dish. It’s one that I will definitely order again. It was so filling, I took more than half home and enjoyed it the next day. We all enjoyed our food, and desserts? Absolutely delicious! Visit this restaurant, you won’t be disappointed!
As always, Wild Garlic Grill delivered some delicious meals. Hearty, rich, with depth of flavors that didn't disappoint.
Beautiful evening to be outside. Our server was excellent.
Wild Garlic Grill’s menu can’t be beat! The variety is outstanding and we love all the veggies served with the entree. The foie gras is amazing and we also indulged in some fresh bread and the fondue appetizer. The guys had scallops and pasta bolognese and were very happy with their choices. The girls, however raved about our choices. The duck was the best ever and the medium rare bison tenderloin was just that, tender! We sat outside under the stars and it was rather magical. A great way to spend the evening.
Excellent food. Just a bit disappointed that waiter did not offer or surprise a gratis small dessert for husband’s birthday
Michele was our waitress and was phenomenal, She recited and extraordinarily long specials list and then really knew her wines! Great recommendations both for a white and red. And the food was just outstanding-we both had fish specials that were superb. And the main chef Steve came by later in the evening for greetings and chat about the food.
This was the second time I came here, the first time overall I wasn't impressed but my son encouraged me to try it a second time.
This time they hit the ball out of the park. He ordered three apps with the third as his main. Wanting to try as many things his jaded palate would appreciate, he started with seared fois gras, then Oysters Rockefeller style & a cut of bison that was either broiled or sautéed but delicious. I ordered mussels, thoroughly cleaned in a delicious tomato based broth worthy of dipping bread into the savory mixture. I saw that one of the specials was a grilled veal chop accompanied
with polenta. The vegetables, perfectly cooked, were strategically placed with a fresh flower, nicely plated. Suffice to say my meal really was superb and I look forward to returning to see what other culinary surprises are lurking in that kitchen. You won't be disappointed and with social distancing being practiced its a comfortable atmosphere to spend some time.
All food and service were terrific as usual!
Our first experience; we'll be back! Our first experience; we'll be back!
Loved it, as usual.
Great menu and food. The service was well done and the server very knowledgeable. Knew the multiple specials by heart and very helpful with the wine. Outdoor on the patio is great, inside noisy. Portion are large and I had the foie gras and duck for entrée. Should have had only one. Duck was really good. Ann had the scallop special which she enjoyed. A lot on the menu to try so we'll be back!!
Lovely patio, excellent service, delicious food. Couldn't ask for a better dining experience in these covid times!
Everything was perfect.. my wife and i had a great time and the food was delicious... we are definitely going back!!
This has to be one of the best restaurants in Tucson. The food is just excellent. It is presented so beautifully and the taste is just out of this world! It’s wonderful for a date or special occasion and the patio was just right!
Mazing service and fantastic food; definitely a must if you are in Tucson
Wonderful restaurant. Such a variety of dishes. Went for my Birthday and it was a fantastic experience. Thanks
It was okay but a little pricey
It was wonderful.
Everything perfect. Presentation is outstanding, food is delicious.
Enjoyed sitting outside in the courtyard. Good food + service. We will return:)
Way, way too expensive for lunch. The food was mediocre at best. Serving ketchup packets was an insult.
Quality and taste of all (3)'meals was way off, compared to our last meal here, which was excellent.
All three diners were celebrating birthdays.
Wedge salad had almost NO dressing on it, the beet salad was mediocre at best, with very little flavor, and the Oyster Rockefeller was unlike any I have ever had before and no where near a traditional Oyster Rockefeller. Did not care for it at all.
Entrees were also hit and miss. Duck entree was good, filet and lobster entree was marginal, with filet being excellent, but lobster was rubbery and tasteless, and the lobster thermidor was just weird and not even close to what you would expect a traditional lobster thermidor should be.
Two of our entrees came wth Risotto, which was mushy. The additional vegetables on all three entrees, were mostly tasteless.
Even though the three of us were celebrating birthdays, the restaurant only delivered (2) pieces of dessert, on the same plate, for the three of us to share. In this time of Covid 19, and social distancing, this was not a smart move.
In addition, both the mens and ladies restrooms could have been better maintained.
I don't see any of us dining again, at what used to be one of our favorite Tucson restaurants.
Social distancing was maintained so the noise level was ok. Our meal was fabulous, lobster Thermidor was excellent, the best I have ever had. Our server was personable and knowledgeable. The calamari was not that great. But We’ll be back soon.
Food was excellent. The menu is fabulous.
Waitress was not attentive. Had to ask about specials. Refills were slow to come
THIS WAS A VERY GOOD DINNER. THE BISON FILET WAS EXCELLENT AS WAS THE WAGYU STRIP. SERVICE WAS ALSO VERY GOOD.
Date night- Food was phenomenal. Loved the fresh, seasonal veggies cooked to perfection. Large portion sizes. Ambiance was peaceful, quiet and lovely. We sat outside by the water feature as it was just starting to get dark. Worth the price and experience. If we are in town again we will definitely come again. Nothing to complain about-everything was as expected or better.
It shouldn’t take two hours to eat lunch. Service was very slow. The garlic fries which are generally delicious or so overly garlic that they were almost inedible. Can’t say I will be back.
Wild Garlic Grill always great for lunch or dinner. Everything from the Crispy Crab appetizer to the stuffed salmon was delicious. Took 4 of our office staff members for lunch. Each member ordered a different dish and everyone commented their dish was superb.
Service excellent, food superb, specials - abundant.
The waitress could have been a bit more attentive as there were very few diners in the restaurant. My iced tea glass had a very clear lipstick imprint on the glass. You would think someone would have caught this before serving the glass. Unfortunately I drank half my iced tea before noticing it.
Excellent food, Including the linguini bolognese, and the service on the patio was stellar.
Wonderful food, great service, reasonable prices, plenty of parking, lovely ambiance....you can’t ask for much more in a Tucson restaurant. Oh, the portions are very large. Everything I had was delicious. Great place to go for a relaxed evening of dining.
