Wild Garlic Grill
Wed- Sun 12:00PM-9:00PM
At the heart of the vibrant Tucson gastronomic scene is a quaint, family owned restaurant that has made a name for itself by combining the classical French education of Executive Chef Steven Schultz with the flavors of traditional southwest cuisine. Driven by the vision of casual fine dining that he shares with wife and owner Maudi Gourdin, the pair have managed to make The Wild Garlic Grill one of Tucson’s premiere destinations for food lovers from all walks of life. That all too familiar aroma of garlic will titillate your senses from the moment you step through the front door, followed instantly by the pageantry of Chef and his crew hard at work in the open kitchen where you can watch your meal as it is prepared. One can sense the warmth that emanates from their comradery and dedication and it doesn’t take long to notice that the front of house staff shares the same passion. It’s almost as if they are one big happy family…

New to town and came here to have a nice evening. Totally worth it, had a great time.
This family owned business is very warm and the staff, food and service was excellent. If you get a chance, meet there waitress Kelly, she made us feel so welcome and special it was off the charts.
This is our new favorite restaurant!!!
Cheers!

Excellent restaurant. Fantastic menu options- wanted to try them all. Accommodating for a large party on the patio. Amazing spot!
Our waitress, Emily was wonderful, the food was delicious, and so abundant that we had it for dinner the next night too. All in all a delightful evening - we were celebrating our 44th wedding anniversary, and even got a complimentary cheese cake! We'll be back for sure!
Our first experience at The Garlic Grill and it was well received. Our waitress was wonderful, knew the menu inside out, recommended a great wine to go with the entree we chose. The Rack of Lamb was amazing and I’m not a wild game lover. The veal was great as well. The ambiance was quaint, I took pics of some of the artwork. We will be bringing our friends from Illinois to The Garlic Grill, they love great wines and dishes that aren’t what you get at chain restaurants. Very very good experience. Compliments to the Chef.
The portions are much too large and the prices are too high and not available until you get the bill; the food itself was excellent.
Despite having multiple people recommend this restaurant to us, initially we didnt go because we feared 'garlic' would be prominent in all the dishes, due to the name. Fortunately on our second to last night in town, a knowledgeable local advised the name was because a founder was from Gilroy CA, the garlic capital of the world, not everything was 'garlicy' and told us we had to go. the service was great and the food terrific. the portions are huge, so if you have appetizers or salads, a couple could easily split an entree and still be stuffed. we really liked how each dinner had a taste of a number of the sides on the menu even if not featured in the description, because it allowed us to try a little of each. the staff was also very accomodating on substitution of sauces, sides etc. next time we're in Tucson this place is at the top of our list.
Nice to eat outside when the weather is good. Heaters avail when cold
Our party ate lunch on the outside patio. We asked for and were given a table for six even though we were a party of four people. This allowed us to safely distance during our visit. Service was excellent. No pressure to order our food.
The weather was perfect for an outside table and, as usual, the food was excellent. Our party of 4 ordered Sea Bass (x2), Bison and Duck, but the menu and specials have something for everyone. Caleb was very attentive. We were all very happy with our meals and the abundant veggies and sides were excellent the next day at home. We very much enjoyed the cheesecake dessert and the foie gras appetizer as well. Definitely a favorite place to dine in Tucson! Consistently yummy!
The food was very good. The odd thing was the number of specials: literally there were 12 (!). Too many to remember when ordering and the poor server! Otherwise all was good. The plates were as busy as the specials.
Used to LOVE WG when it was on 1st Ave. Once they moved to their new location the menu items we ordered were just not as good. Also the service that first couple weeks was among the worst I had ever experienced. BUT I convinced my husband & friends to give it one more try for my Birthday b/c I had LOVED it so in the past. IT IS BACK!! Wonderful food, great/friendly service. Only complaint is the prices are a bit high on some items like the garlic shrimp appetizer and the Specials which, to me, are a bit too many. But happy to recommend WG again!!
Food & service, as always excellent!!
Great place to eat outdoors during pandemic. Outdoor heaters keep you comfortable if it’s chilly.
Server Caleb was HORRIBLE & rude never was at our table (said he was too busy with other tables) took our order and dropped the check that’s it! We’ve had great service before and the food is great! But when you’re spending that amount of money you’d expect to get attentive service not having to flag people down. He ruined our evening because that’s all I could think about.
This is the third time in about a 6 months I've ventured in for dinner. Lots of great tasting opportunities, beautifully plated, more than adequate wine list, nice ambiance, good service.
It was my wife's 70th birthday. We chose to dine outside because it was a beautiful day. The patio was not full. The other diners were not noisy. We chose not to have an appetizer. The entrées were fabulous; full of flavor, hot, and huge portions. The wait staff was attentive, but not too close. My wife and I shared a complimentary cheesecake for dessert. This was a a wonderful afternoon lunch.
Waitress was awesome and great service and flavorful food as always‼️
Great food, great service, sort of pricy but well worth it
how second time eating well garlic atmosphere very nice food excellent or beyond me and the wife enjoys our visits there for the last twice two times I'd recommend it to anybody as good as food as you're going to get in Arizona or elsewhere my favorite is a buffalo steak on the wife lights in her flight shrimp there was an excellent
Great food, great staff, and overall great experience! Went there for an anniversary and I plan on bringing the rest of the family for a dinner now. Highly recommend!
Food was amazing but our waitress was pretty bad and it was very loud but we did go on new years Eve.
The appetizers and our meals were delicious; we shared a soft-shell crab and the cheese fondue. We ended up taking 'doggy' bags home. My friend had the crab-stuffed shrimp, I had the rack of lamb. Everything was prepared with care, and the baby squash and yellow tomatoes were perfect. The lamb was a perfect medium-rare, and the garlic reduction was complex and flavorful. Our food came to us hot from the kitchen, which for some reason seems to be difficult for so many restaurants.
Our only complaint was our service. It may have been that there weren't enough employees, I'd like to give the benefit of the doubt, however we did feel ignored most of the time. Our water glasses were not refilled, our server did not ask us if we needed more drinks, bread or butter. Toward the end of our meal, we noticed our server handing out dessert menus to a table across the patio from us. We joked that not only didn't we get our water glasses refilled, we weren't even offered dessert.
I don't want to presume our server was being ageist, but we were two older women who were taking our time to peruse the menu, taste a few wines, and generally having a wonderful New Year's Eve out. Our server spent more time with the other folks in general, from what we observed. Oh, I didn't get an offer for a second cup of coffee, either.
I absolutely will recommend Wild Garlic to my friends. Although we ate on the front patio, we ventured in and found the ambience to be lovely, the bar well-stocked, and the staff helpful and friendly.
Excellent food, lots of specials, and generous portions. One of our favorite places to dine for a special meal.
The bison was absolutely incredible and the scallops were out if this world. Mussels as always were perfect. And Amber has been providing excellent service to us for many years and hope that she continues to do so for many many more.
Entered the restaurant and was promptly seated outside even though we had chosen standard seating NOT outdoor seating on our reservation. The hostess which I later learned was the owner replied with a condescending attitude about it being only outdoor seating. Service started out fine but our server was waiting on six tables at once. My wife ordered wine and the other three of us ordered soda. At 6:00 we had run through our drinks I was also going to order a glass of wine with dinner. At 6:20 our dinner was served I asked for refills from the person that served our dinner. Was told they would let our server know. At 6:35 our server made an appearance after not seeing her for 45 minutes and took our glasses to get refills. At 6:55 we finally asked for the check once we saw our server again also with no refills. Service was terrible but reading other reviews this should not have been a surprise. The front of the house in this establishment is a MESS.
The food was very good but with an owner that was rude and horrible service at a "high end" restaurant there is really no reason to go back. There are to many high quality restaurants in Tucson with very good food, incredible wait staff and better owners especially in a COVID environment.
Wild Garlic is one of our "Go to's" for special occasions & other. It's reliably awesome food. Many wonderful choices that make you want to come back to sample all their offerings.
An excellent restaurant .And entree choices are many and appetizers .All delicious ,it is our favorite restaurant in Tucson.
Everything we ordered was good and portions were huge! Love the risotto they include as a side on most entrees. Our server was excellent.
I expected the Restaurant to be very good......and indeed it did not dissapoint!
This was lunch and they must have had 15 different specials and the very attentive server rolled each one of them off her tongue to the point where they all sounded mouth watering!! Never really studied the menu because I didn't have to .
Sat outside on lovely patio facing a beautiful courtyard. The service was outstanding, the food delightful and beautifully presented!
I would recommend to anyone and it was a great dining experience. Will return!!
Dinner and Service was very very good. Great variety in the menu plus our server Andrea did a great job, Thank you very much
Celebrated a Christmas dinner. Amazing food as always
The food was delicious, as usual. The service was pretty bad. Unattentive wait staff; we had to ask them to clear the appetizers (after a half hour, we finally moved them to the edge of the table,, hoping they would see them and take them,, they didn't), THE MENUS! before our entrees arrived,, white wine glasses for the table setting (after we already were poured our red wine), plus, it was a birthday dinner, that were put in the notes when making the reservation on OpenTable, and also discussed with the restaurant hostess a week before when I called to confirm outside seating. We told the hostess in secret when we arrived that we were celebrating, but then the waiter never said or did anything, so we went to the host station again to ask them to bring the birthday desert, they just brought the check, no birthday anything. At that point we had already been abandoned by the wait staff. So we stopped at the host station again before leaving the table to really complain about how we were trying to make it special and they completely ignored out requests for their help in that.
Also! When a rack of lamb dishware out, they didn't offer a steak knife and when I asked, they said there is a butter knife with the table setting that should work. ???
This was my third time eating here, 2nd time at this new location. Not sure I will return.
Fantastic experience. Shrimp appetizer was delicious. Warning big enough for two. I had the Cioppino? seafood stew over linguine. Delicious. Topped with a lobster tail. Enough for two.
the food has been excellent every time we have been there. We enjoyed it very much and will continue to frequent
Food was absolutely delicious. No matter what you order the food is perfect. Service is great as well.
Eclectic French cuisine by the chef. Lot's of fresh specials to choose from. Menu is always changing. Had the escargot appetizer and it was spectacular as was my wife's fish and my rack of lamb with home made mint sauce. Lamb was crusted with a pistachio crust. Excellent choices of wines and moderately expensive. $149 for two. Included $43 in drinks. Friendly service and choice of either inside or outside dining. One of our favorites.
Amazing menu choices, great food and wine, professional and friendly server!
The lunch entrees were Huge, we ate our fill and had 3 meals on the leftovers. The cheesecake for desert was surprisingly tiny. As for taste, excellent!
Great food, super specials, diverse menu. Very good wine list. And they handle Covid precautions well. Thanks to a really nice night out with my honey.
We always enjoy our time at Wild Garlic. The food and the service never disappoint. Our waiter was very knowledgeable and attentive. Food and wine selections were excellent. We felt very COVID-safe sitting on the patio. We love this place!
