Always my favourite go-to place for outings with friends. Great quality food with artful presentation, friendly and impeccable service and cosy ambiance. Love the kale chips, kale crackers and rainbow cake. And on top of all these, everything is gluten free and refined sugar free so I can enjoy eating out again.

Really nice ambience, good location and decor was very nice. Staff were friendly (who were attentive but not over bearing). Tables were quite close together but fortunately couple next to us weren’t too loud (and I hope we weren’t either) but that could be an issue for some people. However the Food was good - my main from the specials (buckwheat cake) was quite small and could have been a bit hotter but there was plenty of room for pudding (chocolate orange torte) which was yummy. Would go here again but personally slightly more pricey than I would normally pay (£30 without drinks) so good for an occasion.

Lovely venue to bring a friend who was visiting from France for her 40th birthday. The Set menu had only 1 starter available as the second option was off. No alternative was offered and I find that quite poor for a 12:30pm seating. Maybe reprinting the menu would have been better. The place was very quiet on a Tuesday lunch nonetheless we waited 40 minutes for our starters. Not a great start! The staff (waitress and manager) didn’t actually know what was on the plate or the name of the sauces. Our waitress had no idea how to poor wine but her charm and gentle approach covered it. They paid special attention to us after our long wait and the rest of the meal was ok. At £45 person for a set menu with wine and service it’s a little too expensive for what we got.

The pizza was okay but the cashew cheese sauce ruined it. Kimchi pancake was a good attempt. We waited about 5-7 minutes before we were even given a menu.

I always enjoy eating at Wildfood cafe. You can see & taste that the food is fresh and prepared with care.
It's a lovely place to go informally with friends or if you want something a little more date-like. It covers both easily.
I would like to see some rotating specials as after a couple visits we've eaten most of the menu (we tend to share dishes). But that's more so have excuses to go more regularly!

I am a NOT a vegetarian and didn’t enjoy my last vegetarian dinner but found the restaurant on Opentable when I was looking for a vegetarian restaurant to dine with a friend of mine visiting from Singapore.
The ambience is great, food is really really tasty with friendly staff. And I can’t believe I say this, ‘ I will find time to visit the place again’.

Food, service, ambiance - all outstanding. Absolutely wonderful experience. Food was healthy, nourishing and filling. Beautifully placed upon the plates as well! Service was the best I’ve had in London! The atmosphere was also absolutely delightful. Beautifully relaxing decor with subtle natural colours, surrounded by live plants and beautiful lighting. Overall I love the wildfood café! Just wish it was a little less expensive. Though maybe that’s just me!

Hi Andrew, Thank you for your glowing review!! To address the value aspect of your visit, as I'm sure you are already aware we use as much organic produce as we can get a hold of, in addition to foraged items in Wales. This is an expensive way of operating but it is part of what we believe leaves our guests leaving the most nourished. Again, thank you for your review and support - see you again soon! Food was ok but I felt a bit overpriced; when I booked I was asked if we were celebrating a special occasion and I indicated it was my daughter's birthday so I had an expectation this would have been acknowledged somehow - it wasn't so o wondered why they wanted to know?

Hi Marina, Thank you for your review and I do apologise that your daughter's birthday wasn't acknowledged, that is indeed why we ask if you are celebrating an occasion. I have mentioned to the team that we need to keep an extra special eye on these types of things as we want everyone to leave having had the best possible experience. Again, I am sorry that this one slipped through the net. Kind regards, Marcus

Today we’ve been disappointed...we arrived at 3:30 and we couldn’t have brunch menu and even if all day menu was just start they run out of polenta...how’s is possible? There are 10 things in the menu and already end after 30 min? We asked as regular customers to have something from the brunch menu and the waitress respond a bit rudely not!
I had than the sesame ice cream and was small and not so special...just overpriced!
Anyway we are going there almost twice a week since they open and it’s first time we’ve been disappointed

Wild Food Café, Islington
Responded on May 26, 2019

Hi Paolo, Thank you for your feedback. I'm sorry that your visit wasn't up to the usual 5* experience you have come to expect. I'll follow up with my team to ensure that we are responding appropriately - to give a little context as to the absence of the polenta dish, it's also on the brunch menu, as such, following a very busy afternoon we were not able to prep more, at the same time. We then transition to the dinner menu & stop brunch items to ensure we have a full menu. Kind regards, Marcus

Tasty food. I feel they forgot to put our order through for desert and we were waiting for 10min. We had to leave and at the end they removed service charge from our bill as well as take 20% off the total bill. So that was good!! They do value their costumers and want to keep they good reputation :-)
So I will definitely come backand will recommend to friends !!!

I excepted a bigger variety on options. Anyway I had the Italian pizza and I think flavors just wasn’t right! Too much tomato sauce, I couldn’t distinguish any other flavor on the dish.... I tried my friends classic pizza and it was a little better. At least it had a crunchy element on it and it wasn’t completely bald. Atmosphere and ambience is amazing. Stuff very kind, I will come back to try the desserts as well.

I'm afraid I have to say that the service was a bit disappointing. After our meal we asked to see the menu again for some pudding, and the waiter didn't bring us the menu. We had to ask a second person for the menus, from whom we ordered something to share. We had to wait nearly 20 minutes for a slice of cake.
The table near us received theirs (the same dish) after a few seconds of ordering.

They didn't have what we wanted from the menu. They forgot to put our order through so we had to wait for 1 hour and 20 minutes for 2 pizzas and 1 portion of kale chips. They didn't notice we were not served food even though there were only 2 other tables in the restaurant. We asked where our order was after waiting for 50 minutes. After 1 hour they told us it would be 6 minutes longer, it was 20. The gentleman serving our table blamed other staff for not putting through our order when he went on his break, even though it was him who took our order. He also said "sorry, you know how it is, lazy Sundays". We were offered a free drink for the wait however we declined as we weren't drinking. All they took off bill was the portion of kale chips. This was my second time at the wild food café in Islington and the first time was impeccable so I do think it is indicative of the staff on Sunday night and not the rest of the team.

The food was good but was not as good as it might be- new menu as the reason maybe?? The decor was a bit odd - patchy too-bright lighting and some weird spacing of tables in the room. I like it more for a solo quick meal than an evening out.

Perhaps I was expecting a bit too much from Wild Food Cafe, which I guess should explain this review. This was my first visit to this restaurant and what most appealed to me was the selection healthy food options without preservatives and pretty much in their pure form. What I actually experienced was a combination of good and bad things. Let's start with the good: The decoration, bright and open space, are definitely pluses. Also, as the menu states, all the food items on the menu are 'wild', gluten-free and and have zero preservatives. This is all great, but there could definitely be more options on the lunch menu. The not so great experience for me comes fro the lack of knowledge and the overall arrogance of the servers. With the exception of the friendly host who greeted me, it seems that asking to spend a few more minutes to review the (mind you, limited) menu and asking questions on some of the food items that are still foreign to those of us not too familiar with this type of cuisine, seemed like a bit too much to ask from the waitress. My decision to give Wild Food Cafe a bad review comes down to the bad attitude and eye-rolling attitude that I received from the waitress. Another big shock for me was the lack of knowledge or should I say indifferent attitude that the waitress had when I asked about the items on the menu. The waitress didn't seem to be knowledgeable or have a real opinion on what was good to try. If you asked me, she even seemed to not care if she'd even had the opportunity to try the menu herself in order to give genuine food recommendations to guests. In will end my review with this advice to the staff at Wild Food Cafe: If you don't like your job, don't care to be nice to guests, and you cant's give positive input on your restaurant's menu, perhaps you shouldn't be working at Wild Food Cafe.
