We had a beautiful dinner overlooking the grounds and River. The menu is outstanding. My husband had a bison entree (locally sourced). I had a Chilean sea bass with crabmeat. The chopped salad was excellent and enough to share. Nice wine list. Our server was very friendly and attentive. I will absolutely recommend Wild Caddis.
The best octopus I have ever had. The specialty drinks are great also. Sitting on the deck, looking at the river and mountains was very romantic.
The food was very good but was pricey. The bison filet was cooked well but the sauce was too salty and the accompanying veggies were drowned in the salty sauce. The service was very good even though they seemed to be short staffed (as is the case for many restaurants. They also have a nice wine offering.
Good food and lovely outdoor dining on the deck by the river. Our waiter was so bad. He was rude, brought out wrong items, forgot items, charged for items we didn’t order, and complained about having to repeat menu specials to us.
Everything was perfect, but the timing was off. All courses took way too long and hot beverages with dessert came out late and not warm. If the timing would have been right, this would be an easy 5 stars all around.
Ordered the wagyu medium rare, it came out raw, sent it back to be cooked more still came out raw. Took 20 minutes to be seated, and another 15 to get our drink order taken
Restaurant didn’t acknowledge our 21st anniversary at all.
Unfortunately we were very disappointed in our experience. Service was very slow. We sent 3 out of 4 meals back due to being cold, which left my mom eating dinner by herself. No personal response from the chef or management. The appetizers were comp’d. The grounds and ambience are beautiful. But the service recovery and overall food experience was very poor.
Amazing restaurant. The view, the cocktails and the food is fabulous. What a treat!
Amazing food, beautiful view, great service, and great attention to detail with food allergies. Highly recommend!
FOOD WAS AMAZING! Unfortunately, the service was not the best… for the price, the service was slow and the courses weren’t timed well. I give the restaurant grace given worker shortages right now, and I would definitely go back.
Excellent. Great place to relax and enjoy
This was the second visit for the week. Our first visit was exceptional on a Monday night. There was a wedding during our second visit, a Saturday, and I really think that the combination of staffing challenges and the wedding resulted in a mediocre meal. It’s really worth the visit when they get back to full operations.
The food was exquisite! From appetizer of sweet corn panna cotta to curried squash soup and heirloom tomato salad on to marinated bison tenderloin and burrata-stuffed ravioli and dessert, each dish was a treat both visually and for the palate. House cocktails are also exceptional. Although pricey, the quality throughout lived up to the bill. We will definitely return.
Outstanding in every respect!
Jackie was outstanding!
Excellent food, beautiful view, great service.
The drinks, dinner, service and view were all top notch. Our server, John, was knowledgeable and had great recommendations. My martini was probably one of the best I've had. Our appetizer was the whipped burrata. I had the bison and my husband had the Halibut. All perfectly cooked. We shared the cheesecake and it was also fantastic. We stayed at the lodge and loved it. We will definitely be back.
Excellent all the way around. We are thinking next trip to MT, we will just stay on property!
First - Hostess was very nice and she seated us right away
Second - Service, rate as a 2 out of 5. Server reached in front of my spouse to remove items off the table in front of our adult son. Server was not educated on the menu selection. I would not necessarily state the server was completely incompetent but rather management should have trained staff better. I believe the waiter would be suited for a cafe or fast food role.
Third - Food was not up to the caliber with the cost of the meal. Trout was over cooked and dry. Halibut was not seared as presented on the menu and was mostly in a sauce that felt like it was submerged in soup. When asked about alternatives to the menu the waiter replied he would not ask the chef because of his anger issues.
Final - would not recommend this place in the future. I would rate this experience as pure disappointment. It was a Mother’s Day meal that I had hoped would be a good experience for my wife and mother. I love to support local businesses and this was a costly meal and not worth the drive to Big Sky. Go to Bozeman and have a better meal at Open Range or South 9th street bistro. Value, quality and atmosphere is worth the meal and service.
The service was amazing. Very attentive and excellent with communication. The food was outstanding and beautifully plated. The restaurant is gorgeous and the view is to die for. Great music softly played in the background. All over amazing experience and perfect birthday dinner. Will be coming back without a doubt.
This was one of the most expensive meals I have eaten out. But we did split an appetizer, each have a glass of alcohol, one entree and dessert each for two people. All that was around 200 dollars with tip. However the food was amazing. My husband had the elk short rib special and I had the burratta ravioli and both were mouth watering. The service was phenomenal and the atmosphere was beautiful.
We had an amazing experience. The setting was lovely, the service was excellent and the food was some of the best ever! An evening to remember!
My husband and I came here for our anniversary and we were blown out of the water. The food was beautifully plated and so flavorful! The views were amazing and it was very quiet. Would absolutely go back!
Such a wonderful restaurant in a beautiful location. As a Montanan, we have a lot of meat, so having a variety of options was wonderful. I thoroughly enjoyed the Chilean Sea Bass and the side with the Halibut was wonderful. The staff was very attentive. The food came out WAY too fast at first, hadn't even got our drinks yet, but after being alerted the kitchen slowed down our pace and we had an enjoyable rest of the evening. no rush :)
Best Lamb I ever had! What a wonderful dinner experience at Rainbow Ranch! Great service and absolutely wonderful food! Was on the pricy side but well worth it! Beautiful scenery and we actually watched an eagle pull some sort of animal skeleton out of the river when we walked down to it after our meal. The Rainbow Ranch helped to create a wonderful memory of our most recent trip to Montana!
The food was excellent along with the service.....
Great food, lots of choices, would love to go back on our next trip!
My husband and I were looking for a special night out when we made our reservation for dinner at the Rainbow Ranch Lodge. The night began with a martini by the fireplace in the bar. It's always a cozy place to begin the evening. Later we were seated at a table with a view of the Gallatin River. The Lodge is right on the river so many tables offer this view. The dinner and service were perfect. From appetizers to dessert everything was exceptional!! We will definitely return for an encore soon.
The food was a bit fru fru. The French onion soup was the best thing we had. The steaks our kids had were good, and the fish we had was pretty good, but the accompaniment was not. Unfortunately not worth the expensive price.
Food was spectacular! Wonderful service! Will definitely come back!
Such an amazing place! The food was exceptional! Definitely a place for photos too!
The food was outstanding. Service was great. Not at all busy. Nice experience! We will return.
We absolutely loved having dinner there. The people working there were so wonderful and we had a lot of fun with them. The food was delicious. They have a great wine list and had a Lebanon wine that was out of this world. We sat by the large fireplace and had before dinner drinks. The view of the river and mountains out the window just topped it all off and it seems all tables have that view. Although we couldn't eat outside they do have outside dining in the warmer weather. Definitely a restaurant not to be missed if in Big Sky.
Great experience. BC was tending bar and mixed up some great one off cocktails. Kaylan was our server, table of nine, and delivered a great service. Scott is the manager and ensured everyone had a memorable evening. Will definitely be back.
Wonderful good, very professional staff and bfeautiful location.
Great food! Ate there twice. Elk ragout was good. Loved the lamb. But my favorite was the grilled veggies with the lamb.
The entire team is amazing. Heidi, Scott, and Brian have it perfect.
We have been coming to Big Sky Montan for the past five years. Rainbow ranch lodge dining always exceeds our expectations. All of the dishes were amazing and the iberico pork special was
Our waitress went above and beyond to share details about each dish, create a huckleberry drink for our kids, and recommend delicious wine.
Outstanding service, amazing food and beautiful atmosphere!
