Wild Blue is a distinguished Whistler fine-dining establishment that is devoted to Pacific Northwest cuisine, sustainable seafood, and locally-sourced ingredients. It is led by an exceptional team of partners: Neil Henderson, an award-winning Restaurant Director; Chef Alex Chen, 'Iron Chef' and recipient of Chef of the Year accolades by Vancouver Magazine; and Jack Evrensel, a distinguished member of the Restaurant Hall of Fame, who also founded and previously operated Toptable Group. Our Executive Chef, Derek Bendig, adds extensive experience and a classic French and European culinary touch to the culinary artistry of Wild Blue.

    The food was okay-ish. The cauliflower appetizer wasn’t particularly great, the agnolotti was a laughable portion but probably the best thing we had. The two mains, halibut and sablefish were just okay. We had moved our reservation up and were still seated at the bar which was okay, but even as our order took longer than everyone around us, there were still tons of unused tables. This is more a place to be seen than for the food.

    This place definitely did not live up to the hype. While the food was good overall, the steaks were small, with the only size tenderloin available being only 6 oz. Most restaurants seem to offer at least 8 or 10 oz tenderloins or filets. Two of the four steaks we ordered were also cooked at the wrong temperature and had to be sent back, which took quite a while. I was surprised that a manager never came by to apologize for the error. Finally, it took over 10 minutes to get a refill on a Coke, which should be a simple request. By the time I got my refill, I was done with my meal. While our server was friendly, I felt the service was subpar compared to other similar places we have dined. Wild Blue is a beautiful restaurant inside, but if they want to keep a good reputation, they should focus on the accuracy of their orders and being more attentive to their customers.

    Excellent food and such a stunning restaurant. We enjoyed our dinner very much. The pistachio cocktail was a true standout and the next sticky toffee pudding I’ve ever had.

    This was our first visit to Wild Blue and had high expectations based on reviews. Unfortunately, those expectations were not met. The food was fine, but none of the dishes really stood out. The main issue was the service. Not that it was slow, but rather, the opposite. My wife and I had wanted to enjoy a nice leisurely meal, but it felt like the server kept rushing us through. We were out of there in about 60 minutes. And it's not like the restaurant was packed; there were many open tables while we dined. Given our experience, we did not feel we got the value we should have for such an expensive restaurant, so we will not be going back.

    This was our first time trying this restaurant. We were seated outdoors on the patio and the tables were well spaced apart. Our server was very competent and knowledgeable, providing suggestions and recommendations on popular menu items and made us feel very relaxed and did not rush the experience at all. We enjoyed some cocktails before our meal and they were excellent and very tasty. The food was well presented, full of flavor and was fresh which is important if you order seafood! We recommend the octopus, tuna and lobster! Definitely will come back and sample other menu options.

    Great overall experience! Highly recommend the octopus. Great service with a very detail oriented and knowledgeable server. The cocktail menu was unique and delicious. Would definitely go here again next time we are in Whistler. Had a fantastic time!
