Wienstein & Gavino's
With three levels, it offers everything from a unique open kitchen with a large outdoor terrace to a fabulous bar.
Wienstein & Gavino's satisfies all tastes, serving pizza from a spectacular oven, homemade fresh pasta and other Italian favourites while maintaining a rustic Mediterranean atmosphere.
Our waitress (yes one waitress for 12 people) didn't skip a single beat. We were attended to very well and she was super personable and friendly... even remembering my somewhat odd drink (ginger ale and orange juice) to the point where I could ask for "another" and she knew without having to ask. Great location, we were seated right near one of the upstairs windows and had a fantastic time. The food was great and well priced. Overall a wonderful experience for our entire group.
Unfortunately the service was very poor. We waited for 15-20mins at our table to even get our drink orders in. The food was good and wine was good value. It was not terrible but I would not eat here again. There are better places in Montreal to enjoy a meal.
The food and service was really good but the downfall of this restaurant is the amount of people the cram into each space. Our table was next to a staff work station/ice station and there was constant food and glassware being picked up and dropped off which ruined our experience.
Service and food are excellent - the open style of the restaurant means it’s very loud. Probably not a venue for a romantic evening, but well worth the visit otherwise
Nice place to eat with friends or family. A bit disappointed by the service that was kind of slow.
Very good for group. Very friendly staff and great food choices.
We had lunch here on a Sunday afternoon. Our waiter was very pleasant but not attentive (took a very long time to get our bill). The warm bread to start was very nice! We had a pizza and a pasta, which were both fine but nothing to write home about. Given some of these reviews I expected the food to be Little Italy quality food. Overall it was a decent experience.
Good for a crowd and wide variety menu. Food only okay.
The food was great and our server Catherine was wonderful. She took the time to tell us all about Montreal and recommended places to go and other places for breakfast and lunch.
The food was good, but being unfamiliar with the spot, it felt like a “chain” restaurant.
Our server was lovely.
Delicious food, amazing atmosphere and the severs were fantastic 👌🏻
Service, prices and food was great. We had a group of 10 before a show at Bell Centre and they handled us just fine. Lots of groups in there. A big place central to the action.
The food was very good but the service was far too fast -- our appetizers weren't even finished when our main course arrived.
I went with six other people so there was a group of 7 of us. We all got a pizza to share and then got individual pasta dishes. I got the fungi bosco, and it was solid. The only I didn’t like was when the guy with the cheese went around and asked us. I told him no cheese and then proceeded to put a lot of cheese on my pasta. Some of us got dessert too. The apple cobbler and maple ice cream was alright, and the chocolate cake and cheesecake looked solid.
Waitress was very unprofessional yelling and screaming at a busser near our table. Dropped the wrong food down for dinner. In my appetizer, my shrimp was raw. Would not recommend
The food was excellent, the service attentive, including filling water glasses, the noise was excessive - would have appreciated quieter - hard to hear others across the table. I would return when in Montreal again.
Second time visiting, excellent experience overall.
Great place for big groups.food is really good ambience is nice
My filet mignon was burned on top and for this price it shouldn’t have been.
This was a great find, we will absolutely eat here again on our next trip to Montreal. We will recommend to any of our friends that plan on visiting. Food was excellent, as was the service and the ambience. Very pleased
Overall great value for a big group.
Pizzas, pastas and desserts were tasty. Took my college daughter and her friends there and we had a great time. Service was warm and efficient. Will go back!
By far the best meal I had in Montreal. We were sitting by the window and had a great view of the beautiful street it’s on. Inside is just as wonderful to look at. I had the tortellini and my husband had the seafood risotto. It was fantastic. I wish we had one of these restaurants out west. I would def recommend anyone go here.
A place for Tourists......
Excellent meal really enjoyed it, the bar service was a bit slow but the server had to go all the way downstairs to order from the bar
Really fantastic food, and really friendly servers I felt like a repeat customer although it was my first time there. Totally recommend
It was the perfect place to go for a fantastic and festive dinner with friends! Food was amazing and the price was right! Definitely sending friends there!
The food and drink were great as well as the atmosphere.
Food was awesome!! Our waiter was super nice and knew everything about the restaurant. There was a small mistake with the cheque but they fixed it. Will definitely be back soon 😊
From Toronto, came to Montreal from a mini vacay, W&G is always on my list of restaurants to visit in Montreal. One of my favourite places to go too and I also Recommend it to friends. The food is always amazing and the pesto with the bread is outstanding. The atmosphere is very lively Looking forward to my next visit , see you soon!!!
Portions were small. Service was lacking and ambiance extremely loud
i love this place. It is well located, food is good and the price is reasonable. It is the 5th time i spend my bday here and my friends like it as well.
The food was very good but the thing that won me over was the ambiance. One of the nicest I've been to.
Thanks for taking care of me and my friends for my birthday. Best place in Montreal!
Food and service were wonderful. I would definitely reccomend
In Montreal for the evening (from
Ottawa). Fabulous family fining.
Overall they took care of our large group, ages ranged from 14 to 54. The server was professional and knew his craft. The staff were attentive to our needs and the experience was great overall.
Whoever is choosing the music has no idea what he is doing. Playing the Hansen Brothers and backstreet boys in an italian restaurant with a wide choice of wines is a disgrace to the establishment. The food was very bland. The 'homemade' pasta was sad as it lacked taste and seasoning. Store bought pasta would have been better. Im a cook and ive had better pasta for almost hafl the price. The only good thing about WG is that the restaurant is nice estethics wise and the service was 5stars. The food and music ruined for us. Not coming back here.
As always, the food and service were excellent. We were a group of nine people and we all had a great time.
Great food. Oil-pesto dip for bread was great to start. Extensive wine list. Calamari is a must, mussels were also great. Would definitely return.
Excellent meal - pasta dishes were very tasty and good sized portions . Deserts also very good and service was good
