Who Song & Larry's - Vancouver
It’s laid back, friendly, casual and always tons of fun. It is a little bit rowdy, but in a comfortable, easy-going way that doesn’t take itself too seriously. The locals are always happy to share their tables with the out-of-towners.
It’s an adventure full of discoveries, a not-to-be-missed experience. It has this certain mystique, it’s unexpected, it’s for those seeking out the unusual.
We had a lovely visit with some out of town guests. it was a nice days and had lovely view of the river with the comfort of air conditioning in side. lovely deck seating area out side as well.
It was my birthday treat to go to Who Song & Larry’s for dinner. I was not disappointed. There is nothing but good things to say about our experience. The food was delicious, the service was wonderful, the decor wonderful and I’m going back soon to try their weekday lunch buffet. Their guacamole is beyond delicious. Oh, and I have already recommended two others that they should visit. Best birthday dinner ever!!
What a pleasant evening dining on the deck with great friends, good food and memories of my last visit 30+ years ago. It's good to come home.
We ordered drinks, snacked on chips, and watched the river. Very pleasant. Service was slow as the restaurant was understaffed. When I finally got my food it looked fine. Presentation was what you would expect. About a quarter of
the way in to my entree I found a long white hair. Gross.
My drink was filled with mint leaves which were so old they were brown around the edges. I left both the drink and food.
Never to return.
Very good Mexican food with a view of the Columbia River. The chips were freshly made and a second basket was brought when we finished the first, along with a cilantro-forward salsa. The margarita was a bit watery, but the homemade sangria was excellent (made with fruit juice, but no pieces of fruit). The steak fajitas were tasty, but the steak was a little tough. The chicken enchiladas were excellent. The beans were not refried; instead, they were pintos in a sauce (almost a bean soup)—very tasty. The tortillas tasted fresh and the guacamole was chunky and delicious. It was good that we booked reservations through Open Table, otherwise the wait would have been over 30 minutes. Be aware that parking is at a premium and is shared by Joe’s Crab Shack; so be prepared to park a bit away from the restaurant.
We always have a great time. It was too cold to sit outside but we thoroughly enjoyed the food, service and great time .
It would be best to continue bar tab in restaurant. My husband got ice tea in bar ( more ice then tea!) and had to order a new one in restaurant??!! Didn’t get a refill !
Good service, good food. It was moderately busy on a Sunday afternoon. Good experience.
Loved the outdoor seating right on the Columbia! Perfect place to enjoy some happy hour margaritas and delicious food with friends.
My husband loved the salmon Vera Cruz...such a nice healthy meal. I got the chicken burrito. Not much flavor...and the sauce was so thin it really made the burrito soggy. Not much flavor to the rice either. But I did really love the chips and salsa.
We sat out on the patio for Mother's Day. It was beautiful. The food was pretty good and there was a variety for the Mother's Day Brunch. It was kind of crammed into a small space so it made it a bit uncomfortable. But overall, very nice.
The view from our seating on the deck was the best part of the dinner! The margaritas were good, but definitely not strong. The shrimp appetizer we had was excellent, but the mahi mahi with our seafood fajitas was overcooked...dry and hard. Looking around you will notice the building in quite rundown, but it sounds like they it's going to be torn down and rebuilt in the future so understandable why they aren't keeping it up at this time. I'd go for the view though on a sunny day!
My husband and I went for a date night. I requested a window seat and was accommodated . It was Cinco de Mayo so we expected busy and they were. Our food has always been exemplary in quality, presentation and flavor. What can I say it's our go to place for great Mexican food . My husband says it reminds him of home. Best compliment ever!
They had our reservation ready and got to us right away. Food was amazing as always. Can't wait to go again.
The noise level was at out table with eight grandchildren
Ive been at Who Song's before, but never has the salsa been so hot. It hit the back of the throat and made me cough and cough. My server had and run to get me water. You may want to have two types. One mild and hot. My son's plate was good, my taco salad not so good. Our service was very nice. No I will not be back.
We brought a group of 18 and our server was able to handle everyone’s order correctly and efficiently. Everything arrived promptly, and correctly.
Excellent location that goes along with great food makes for a special outting with family or friends.
We had a wonderful time!! The food was good and came out very very fast. The waiter was pretty good however there were a few times we needed to ask for more water and then it took what seemed like 10min to get it.
Overall we had a great time and we definitely will be back.
Food was terrible. I ordered street tacos and took a bite and there was something hard in my mouth spit it out and I looked like some ones fake acrylic nail with sparkly gold fingernail polish had broken off and was in my food. Told the waiter and they remade my meal and comped it but I will never go back again. So disgusting.
Good as usual. The at table Guacamole was excellent.
Great lunch buffet! everyone could find something they liked to eat. Not good for plant based diet, but we weren't expecting a great vegan selection.
There was ant in the chips. Our food took 38 minutes to arrive, although the taste was outstanding
Reservation at 5, was seated by 5:20. Very understaffed. Had to track staff down for refills, food, utensils, napkins.
For the price you pay, the food wasn’t that great and the overall experience of the restaurant was just okay.
Went for my wife’s birthday. We live in Oregon and travel to Vancouver when we want a great Mexican meal. The ambiance is very nice right there along the Columbia River, especially in the summer. The service has always been top notch and the restaurant is very clean. I recommend it to everyone who doesn’t know of it.
Great food, OUTSTANDING fresh guacamole with nice tasting crispy chips. Very good guitar player with staff and eventually the entire resturant singing along for birthday wishing customers. Not the atmosphere for a quiet evening out, or those hard of hearing with background noise. Fun night!!
Drinks cost just as much as the food, not really worth the price
Chips and salsa were great! Service was good. Food was good, but not great. Enchilada sauce was thin and kind of bland. Rice was not all that flavorful. They seemed to be skimpy with the Tequila, I could not taste it at all in the Margerita. Makes me wish I had a beer instead.
I had three guests and we all elected to have the lunch buffet. It was all very good. I’ll return.
Had the best service and so much fun!
Very dissatisfied with the food. It lacked its normal appeal. 2 waiters could not bring us napkins, silverware, additional chips and salsa, after being asked 3 times. It wasnt until after the meals were served that we finally got these items. No one asked if anyone in our party wished for another cocktail.
It was not busy at all. We will not be returning to this place anytime soon.
Not the fun, happening place i remember. Took my 21 yr old there for his birthday and it was a bust ☹️
Food was nothing special
Jorge was incredible. We had 30 people, and he was the main server, with some side help. I heard zero complaints, mostly compliments toward him. No mistakes and very efficient. I didn't know they had the room upstairs available for groups, especially with the short notice that we requested. Many thanks for Jorge and the entire staff.
The food was good. As always the cocktails were tasty.
The servers were great with the kids
I took my daughter Angelena there for her 18th birthday 🎊 she had the best time ever 😍 the manager Noah came and personally talked to us... And introduced himself and said happy Birthday ....everyone was so nice ☺ smiling and happy making sure we were comfortable at all times our server Jorge was nice and funny too ...ive been going there since 99 and love that they come and chat with us as if we were best friends if they weren't so busy they brought the whole band out to sing happy Birthday to my Lena it was soo cute i will definitely be back soon Alejandra was very nice too she made sure we had enough to eat in the Buffet kelly made sure to let us know she had to switch to another area and made us feel welcome I was hoping to see carlos the best cook ever but he was taking a well needed break if you're ever in town make sure to stop by and say hello to him he will be sure to come and say hola with a shy ☺ they are all so kind and caring about making sure your visit is fun happy enjoyable and if you ever want to relax on the patio or have a romantic date or a fun celebration this is definitely the place to be
We went to the lunch buffet and came early. That allowed us to get good parking and immediate seating. The buffet was awesome! So much good food and all for $12.99. Their flan is the best I have ever had. Our server, Alexandra, was terrific. Going back for seconds of flan found an empty tray and Noah, the manager, saw this and jumped in to remedy the situation. He then brought the flan directly to the table. We enjoyed some of the insights he had on the history and future of Who Song & Larry's and look forward to many more visits. I highly recommend them to all for a relaxed business lunch to a birthday dinner to an evening with a loved one.....it works for it all.
We enjoyed our birthday celebration. The food was okay. We ordered enchiladas and taco combination. The taco was pretty good - not much in it, however. The enchiladas were covered in what tasted like the canned enchilada sauce found in markets and not much cheese. The rice was very good. The beans were bland. The tiny scoop of corn "bread" was great. The Coca Cola had the right amount of carbonation.
Our birthday celebration was missed by the hostess and not until I made a note on the check did the staff do their thing - it was rushed and obvious - but it's nice they do it and we enjoyed everyone else who had a celebration.
It was a great place to take a toddler. Lots of activity and things to watch - and didn't have to worry about offending anyone. He's well behaved but you never know.
Overall - I wouldn't rush back but I wouldn't stay away either. It's a drive for us so perhaps if we were regulars and saw more of a variety of the food and such we'd give a much higher rating.
Don't stay away - give it a try!
