Not what it use to be. Both Dinner and Wine Menu's were wrong. Also server did not know the menu and when asked for a missing item said it didn't come with that dish. She was wrong.
Great find. 4 of our 5 meals were outstanding and the fifth very good.
Very nice building and ambience. A little pricey but worth it for a special occasion.
Went early evening, so it wasn't quite as noisy. Good service, very tasty food.
This is an excellent establishment set in a renovated mill building. The decor, lighting, material choices, fresh fragrant flowers were all most pleasing to the eye. While it's a big open room there were clearly defined lounge, bar, bistro seating and general seating of various sizes. It was one of the few restaurants where we could easily converse. The service was impeccable. My steak came out rare but was corrected quick enough. Wine choices were guided knowledgeably by our server. And the home made ice cream, sorbet and shortbread were to die for. The dessert portions were appropriately small. A top tier meal experience.
The Pork Tenderloin wasn't available and many at the table had to change their selection but with good results. Wine selection was undertaken with the help of the waiter. Food was good.
Sit at the chef's Cole counter and ask for the chef's wine-paired tasting menu! Excellent food and fun to watch!
Fine restaurant. Great service and interesting menu. Definitely worth a return trip.
Excellent food and service that made our Anniversary celebration special
2nd time at this restaurant. Waitress Meg was awesome. Food was good. We seem to always get stuck by front window. This is a nice place with good wine list and food.
Celebrated my birthday at this restaurant housed in an historic building. Love, love, love the crispy fried sweet onions as a starter. Our entree selections (beef tenderloin and the copper river salmon) were cooked to perfection. We enjoyed a dining experience and look forward to returning again.
Very nice looking restaurant. Unfortunately we left after being asked if we would like drinks 3 times but didn't get anything to drink but water after 20 minutes. 😩
We have dined many time over the past 10 years. They go out of there way to source in season vegs to highlight the protein very well. Amazing wines and deserts. Try the chefs table for a great experience while you get to know the chefs.
Food was delicious EXCEPT for $24.00 worth of a pathetic salad. It was wilty, not much in it and EXTREMELY small. I would never order another one.
Very disappointing! We had it recommended by a very good friend...and TripAdvisor rated it excellent...but service sucked...we were left waiting for initial contact, contact after being served, inquiring about if we wanted dessert, then asked about bringing the check! We left discussing our disappointment...not a good experience!!
This was our 3rd visit to Whitehouse-Crawford and will definitely not be our last. WHC is a go-to place whenever we're in Walla Walla. The food is always creative and full of flavor. Interesting cocktails. Great wine list or reasonable corkage fee if you'd like to bring your own bottle from your wine-tasting adventures. Service always excellent.
We went here for a special occasion date at the recommendation of friends. We booked an early reservation, and were disappointed to be seated at a table just inside the door beside this a/c vent and with no tablecloth. Other tables in the main part of the restaurant had table cloths. We felt second rate, froze and got tiny portions of expensive but tasty food and left hungry after a very expensive meal. Never again.
The meal was excellent. Our server was not our best experience there. He was not very attentive. He opened a bottle of special wine we brought for the occasion and never poured any of the wine for us. We did that ourselves.
Service was okay at first - when the server was made aware of a problem with one of our entrees, he became disinterested in us. We asked to speak with the manager on the way out - he basically said there was nothing he could do because we were already on our way out. He then said to come back again and that he would be sure to remember us and make sure we had a good experience (never asked for our names...not sure how he would remember us). We truly felt pressured to move along. Great location - great atmosphere (physically). Disappointing overall.
Walla Walla has been one of our destinations for the last six years as we drive from Spokane to Seattle visiting relatives. Wine tasting and food are always at the top of our list. We discovered this restaurant last year on our visit and came back again enjoying the same excellent results. I recommend to any foodies and wine connoisseurs as well. Happy travels!
Fillets wonderful, chicken very fair to poor. The waiter needs a lot more training,
Bar service very slow.
Our service was top notch! On May 5th, my husband ordered the halibut, which I'm always afraid to order at a restaurant. He said it was the best halibut he'd ever eaten. It was moist and flavorful. We went back June 5th and took five other people with us. All but one of us ordered the halibut, and we were all disappointed, because the fish was dry and tasteless. My only complaint about Whitehouse Crawford is that they're not consistent. We're lucky one time and unlucky the next. The price was pretty high for a bad meal.
My only criticism. They served challah as the bread course. This challah was well made so it had an eggy taste which conflicted terribly with our wine and cocktails. We asked for a different bread and the waiter kindly obliged.
Lovely setting and very good food. The burger is outstanding. Pasta, too.
We arrived with high hopes for a great dining experience. The asparagus soup was mediocre at best, but the Hayshaker salad was excellent according to my dining companion. He had the Duck Pot Pie, and I had the Shakahouka, which was very good, but not spectacular. Service was OK and the ambience was very relaxing and interesting, having been a planing mill in its previous life.
All in all a disappointment for the price.
The food was great and the wine selection was also very good. However, the service was extremely slow, we waited half an hour at least before someone came to the table and we could ask for menus. The wait between courses was also very long compared to our experiences at other similar restaurants of the caliber of food and drink.
We traveled to Walla Walla with a group of friends (6 of us total) and hands down, we all agreed our evening at White House Crawford was one of the highlights of our long weekend! We would definitely go back and also recommend the restaurant to others!!
Walla Walla wine trip with amazing food, delicious drinks, and terrific service by Devin that steered us in the right direction at every question we had. So great!
We loved the environment at Whitehouse-Crawford. We could carry on conversation comfortably, which is a real treat in restaurants these days. There was great effort on the wait staff to provide quality fine dining service. We wanted to take our time enjoying our experience, and we did, never feeling rushed in any way. The food was very good, but not exceptional. It was presented well, and cooked properly. We just felt that there wasn't great complexity or distinction in the flavors of the dishes.
We ate foie gras, asparagus, duck pie, halibut, calimari, lamb tagliatelle, crene brulee, ice cream. Everything was excellent except for the lab Talia tele which my friend could not eat it was so salty and bad. We should have complained to the kitchen and sent it back it was inedible.
Had great food & wine list. The service was top notch.
Loved this restaraunt from start to finish. It's been salvaged from an old wood planing plant. While keeping many of the artifacts and historical items they also managed to make it bright and beautiful. We got there about a half hour before our reservation and so we went to the bar and met some great local people and the bartender had some mad cocktail skills. I had two Moscow Mules that were delicious. When we were seated we were greeted by our server who was totally on top of things. We had him pair our food with wine and he did such a great job l, we had him pick our dessert too! Best ice cream ever! We both had halibut prepared differently and we both loved it. Can't wait to go back!
Whitehouse - Crawford is one of my favorite dinner spots in Walla Walla because of the great, fresh food and it's beautiful building!
Celebrated our son's graduation from Whitman College here. I had asked him where he hadn't been in his 4 years there--a place that he'd heard about and would regret not experiencing. This was his choice. The menu choices and comfortable upscale atmosphere were perfect and I'm glad we didn't miss this Walla Walla treasure.
Our service was excellent. The building was a restored warehouse which I really liked, however because of the high ceilings it was somewhat loud and hard to have a quiet conversation. Our meal was presented well. However the halibut was a bit dry and for the price not much else was offered such as soup, salad, or bread. Had a great local wine list.
Always great service, nice atmosphere, the best filet mingnon you'll ever taste! Grass fed and accommodating to food allergies, although you may have to work around the menu for that. Highly recommended!
They may have a "team" concept. We only saw our server twice. A different person brought our drinks and then another person brought our meals. Felt rather cold and fast foodish. We did not have a salad with our meals as they only offered two rather large options, no side salads with meal. Food well presented and good but just didn't feel like a special restaurant due to the impersonal service. Wine selection was over priced but we were able to get good wine by the glass. It's Walla Walla -- we expected a large offering of local wines. We've been there twice before and this was our first just okay time so we may still try again when in Walla Walla.
We had a good experience at Whitehouse Crawford. On par with the other Walla Walla restaurants. Menu is limited. Food was delivered quickly.
always a pleasure to dine here.... great staff, food and atmosphere.... can't say enough about it... the steaks are always perfect and the drinks... well good and strong.... love it..
Cuisine creative aux saveurs originales utilisant des produits frais. La cuisson des aliments était parfaite (viandes et poisons) et la carte des vins contient plusieurs vins locaux. Le service était professionnel et discret.
The menu was limited, the food very small portions and expensive. If you are 6 or more 18% gratuity is automatically added and they won't do individual bills. Very disappointed in the evening.
