Great food, service and atmosphere!
Only complaint was that the pretzel in the Pretzel & Crab Dip was a little dry/stale. The ribeye steak was delicious and a big enough portion to share after having the appetizer. For dessert, the chocolate chip cookie with ice cream made in an iron skillet was out of this world! Be sure to save room for that!
This is one of my FAVORITE places in town. I have held several events here over the years as well. Yesterday was my first trip in since COVID. It was fairly empty. We had a reservation for 1:00pm and were seated on the patio along Beaver St. Right away we were annoyed at a table of younger people who were very loud. Loud enough the hostess offered to move us. The bartender waited on us and took a very long time to come back with drinks. While we waited, looking at the menu we were extremely disappointed in how limited it was. As a hospitality manager, I know things are tough right now, but we pretty much had a choice of eggs, pancakes or a sandwich. I finally just walked up to the bar where the bartender was socializing with another employee and told her we were leaving. I was very sad.
We eased into our Saturday morning at White Rose. It was our first visit and our server, Lana, was great. There were some hiccups with our drink orders and a delay on our ordering, but nothing fatal. It was a minor inconvenience. The food was wonderful (had the eastern shore burger and Smith Island cake) we enjoyed our drinks and Lana gave us great suggestions. The staff was all friendly and we left fully satisfied. Will definitely return to try some other menu items we were eyeing up!
Our first visit will absolutely be back! Food was great, staff was friendly and the service was awesome!
Service was excellent, food was good.
The service was very good, but the menu selection has been reduced and prices are higher.
My daughters steak was supposed to had been well done, but it came out burnt on 1/3 of the steak.
I remember when White Rose was the place to go but I am not so sure anymore. I may try again but not with at large group.
Great job by wait staff with a big party
Let down, it was very loud. Not many entrees to choose from. No cocktail/tarter sauce for seafood. Rice was not seasoned at all and the brocolli was tough. French fries were over cooked, almost to the point of being burnt. As with all restaurants these days, just going down hill. Hopefully things will improve, there food used to be delicious .
Food is okay. Everything I like seems to be gone from the menu and they only offer one seltzer option, a Lime Cherry flavor from Liquid Hero, which is by far the worst-tasting seltzer I've ever come across. Not rushing to go back.
We enjoyed our time there and had the most pleasant and professional waiter, Chris sawed to it that we were satisfied and comfortable we will definitely go back.
Celebration of a birthday! It was a great experience due to our service! Nate was an excellent server and granted all of our requests.
The girl that dropped off our food and dessert was also quite pleasant. The hostess even stopped by to help keep our table debris free and was very sweet.
Thank you for a wonderful evening!!
Great food and service. Will definitely return. Plenty of parking available
I miss the old White Rose Menu. This one seems generic and cold. Out waiter and seating was the usual- GREAT!
It was really good food & drinks. I had a mailbooty fishbowl. Was so good!
Entree was served a few minutes after the appetizers which made us rush into eating out dinner and not enjoy the meal.
We had a great time. Our waitress was awesome. Crab cakes seemed smaller and tasted a little different. My coworker said her grilled chicken Caesar salad was very garlicy. Overall we enjoyed our dinner very much.
Good experience but a very limited menu.
First time at this restaurant and it will not be our last. The food was excellent and the server, Chris, was outstanding.
White Rose is really nice restaurant. The staff were great and the food was just as great
Since my last visit the quality of service and food has declined.
Good food, nice outside seating, friendly service
Limited menu. Food not as good as in the past. The cup of Maryland crab soup was like eating stew not having a cup of soup. way to thick. In the past the food was Super delicious.
Great meal a little pricey but under
Stand due to meat prices
Excellent drinks. Server was attentive. My Eggs Benedict was delicious. Lovely atmosphere eating outside for brunch on a Sunday morning!
The staff was so accommodating with us having such a large party(11). Our waiter was fantastic and very attentive!!
Great wait staff.
We had a great time.
The menu has gotten smaller, prices a little high for the food.
A memorable evening - exceeded our expectations!
If you find yourself in York, PA or close you must go the White Rose!
We had a private room in the back of the restaurant for 24 people. Brittany, Naomi, Kelsey and Chef Sean were outstanding to work with.
We ordered appetizers, don't miss the calamari, to be on the tables when our guests arrived at 6 pm. Perfectly executed for our traveling guests.
The entrees and the cocktails were all amazing. We loved everything, start to finish!
Thank you Team White Rose! If we are anywhere in Pennsylvania we are coming to see you again! They even played our favorite music. They did not miss a thing. Everyone in the party raved - even the kids got their hamburgers and chicken fingers. Thank you Sean!
Menu is limited and quite pricey. Fries weren’t cooked.
Sat in the dining room for the first time as opposed to the outside or bar seating area.. plenty of room, not cramped but it was very loud and cold. Still enjoyed my time, might just prefer the outside or high top seating next time.
Great food and great service
The food was delicious and our server, Kate, was wonderful. We will definitely be back!
TL,DR: Great value and good seats. Fishbowls are good, food is very filling, excellently prepared, and keeps well for leftovers. High regards to our server.
My boyfriend and I love crab on everything, so the menu hit our sweet spot. We were sat in the sunroom (??? idk what to call it), which provides great lighting and a good view of the street outside. It was also pleasantly quiet for a Friday evening, but we did go at 5:45pm and did not visit the bar. To drink, my boyfriend and I each had a fishbowl: he ordered the strawberry creamsicle, which was very good. I ordered the Bahama Mama, which my boyfriend complained should have had less pineapple, and we both agreed that it should have been stirred a bit. Nevertheless, I thoroughly enjoyed my drink... and I was pretty tipsy upon arrival at home. We split a crab pretzel, which was seasoned just right, but might have been a little much for an appetizer for two. My boyfriend ordered the crab mac n cheese (which I’m eager to share with him later today — yes, we had LOTS of leftovers), and I got the Eastern Shore Smashburger. I could only manage half the burger and I left my chips for later. We were both absolutely stuffed after our meals, to offer a glimpse of the portion size and great value of the food. Our server was attentive and friendly. She unfortunately agreed — with my boyfriend — that he resembled the guy from Home Improvement, so he left her a heavy tip. As I’m typing this, I just finished enjoying my leftovers, which had kept EXTREMELY well in the fridge — even the chips, which i put in there accidentally. Overall, we had a great experience here, and I’ll definitely be back to sample ALL of the fishbowls. ;)
Service was attentive, nice table with view of the O's game. Appetizers were good - Maryland Crab Vegetable Soup, side salad & a plain pretzel. My husband and I both ordered the Black & Bleu Ribeye. His was riddled with fat and pretty much inedible. Mine was raw so I sent it back. 2nd try was much better - cooked to medium rare and a better cut. Could do without the blackened spices though. Our son enjoyed his All American Smashburger but fries were too seasoned for his taste. Nice selection of wines - including a great Malbec that made up for the issues with the steaks. Waitress was very accommodating and pleasant.
Wait staff was excellent - extremely helpful, cordial, & responsive.
Outstanding service. Friendly staff and the food was perfect in every way.
