White Pillars has been voted #1 in several categories in the Sun Herald People's Choice Awards for 2018 including Best Chef, Best New Restaurant, Best Happy Hour, and Best Wedding Venue. We have also been recognized as one of the Best New Restaurants in the State by Mississippi Magazine.
Delicious one of a kind food. Very fresh and well presented. Had a comfortable atmosphere. Attentive staff. Worth the visit.
We have never had a bad experience at White Pillars and our Mother’s Day brunch was no exception! The food was amazing and the staff all went above and beyond to make sure we had a great experience!
Excellent as usual.
Honestly, our favorite restaurant on the Coast. The food is incredible. The restaurant is beautiful. Madison is always great. I can't enough good about White Pillars.
Austin and his staff make for a wonderful dining experience. It is so much fun to go see what’s new and there is always something new because Austin is always scouting out fresh seasonal ingredients.
Waitress was professional and great. The steaks brought to the table were cooked incorrectly and the hostess, yes the hostess, stormed into the room, turned the lights up and shamed the person for sending it back saying “it IS cooked medium rare, you just couldn’t see it.” In fact, the steak was actually medium, if not medium well. The way it was handled colored the rest of the meal. I’ve been many times and enjoyed the small plates, but I won’t be back because of the way the staff handled everything so very rudely.
Very lovely restaurant and the food was okay. More about presentation and less about the taste.
Wonderful food, service, and ambiance! I would definitely recommend! Truly fresh farm to table delicious food!
Beautiful restaurant with amazing food and service.
Excellent food and cocktails. Nice high-end restaurant.
Wonderful! Easily best restaurant on the coast!
Outstanding service and everything we ate was delicious. Don’t miss this jewel!!
We arrived earlier than our reservation time, but they were able to seat us. We had a lovely table overlooking the water. Our server, Madison, was terrific! There was a large table behind us that began to get a bit loud, so we were offered to move outside. What a wonderful experience! The breeze was nice and allowed a more intimate dining experience. We were celebrating a birthday and they did not disappoint! The strawberry rhubarb pie in a black skillet............it hurts just thinking about how good it was. We will definitely return.
Meal was excellent ! The service was very slow. It was Easter Sunday so we expected some wait but it took almost 2 hours to receive our entree. The restaurant is beautiful and overall it was a very nice experience
Our experience at White Pillars has always been excellent. We have been eating here on a nearly weekly basis for over a year. The menu is a always different and seasonal, it makes it easy to find something yummy and new with each visit. This is a chef owned restaurant and you can tell. The staff is well trained and professional, the food is well conceived and tasty and the building is beautiful. Try it, you won't be disappointed.
We had Easter brunch at White Pillars. It was amazing. The food was delicious and service was outstanding. We will definitely go again.
We loved our Easter brunch at White Pillars with friends! You can always count on great service, unique dishes, and outstanding flavor.
The White Pillars is a fabulous addition to the MS gulf coast! The food is absolutely delicious and creative in a way that will appeal to both adventurous and non-adventurous eaters. The restaurant is elegantly comfortable and the spaces have been brilliantly thought out. The service was also superb. We really enjoyed ourselves!
Great food and service in a lovely atmosphere. The added value was in their use of local products, from food to dinnerware to soaps in the restroom. Quality throughout.
Excellent meal with great service!
everything was delicious! had the eggplant off the vintage menu and it was outstanding. can't wait to return for another meal!
Excellent food. Service was outstanding. Ambiance is classy without being stuffy. They are successfully managing the noise level we had noticed on our previous visit.
Great dining experience with friends. Kat was a server like one should be - hard to find these days. Food was very good, reasonably priced and the drinks and dessert were delicious. Building is very nice and interesting.
3 way oysters are a must to have, probably best oysters I've ever had, duck confit was delicious, noodle was made with sweet potato flour which tasted great but has a strange consistency which was a put off for my friend, husband had the pork chop which was very good but a little dry but he ordered it medium. Brother said his snapper was great. Derby pie was good but crust a little hard to cut. Server was top notch. We had drinks prior to dinner, bartender was super friendly, i asked for a martini with olives stuffed with jalapeno.. he said they didn't have them which most bars don't BUT he made them for me, brother said it was the best Manhattan he'd ever had. Go back? You bet!
Though I am only empresses w one of Brunch items. Need to offer a few more basics for both Brunch and dinner.
Food and service were excellent. We were seated in the main dining room which has a high ceiling, and hard surfaces. After a boisterous party of 12 was seated in the same room, the acoustics made it impossible for our table of three to hear one another.
The high noise level continued throughout our meal. The evening was only salvaged when management moved us to a smaller, quieter room for dessert.
Unless you prefer a high noise level, I’d suggest requesting a table in the quieter, smaller front room.
Great food. Eclectic farm to table menu. Very enjoyable experience. Madison was attentive to our needs and very helpful with suggestions. Will go there again next time we’re in town.
After having a wonderful dinner experience on Friday night with friends we really looked forward to Sunday Brunch at White Pillars. We were no disappointed. The WP Lounge had a nice crowd and everyone seemed to be enjoying a more quite St. Patrick's Day. Our meal was again amazingly fresh, creative and delicious. Our service was prompt but friendly and attentive. We both started our meals with the Lenten special Herbed Green Gumbo which was perfect. The fresh seafood sausage was amazing. Likewise we both selected the freshly baked ciabatta bread, Pain Perdu accented fresh pan seared locally sourced ham and crayfish. This is a not to be missed interpretation of the New Orleans French Quarter brunch classic. Delightful historic atmosphere and a do not miss if your travels bring you the the Mississippi Gulf Coast.
I really enjoyed having brunch with my family at the White Pillars last Sunday. It was delicious, plentiful, and efficient. It was a beautiful morning in a beautiful setting.
It was our second time here. The food is great, staff is attentive and understands the menu. What a great meal.
I went to White Pillars with my 9yo daughter and my boyfriend to celebrate my 30th birthday. While my daughter adjusted to the "fancy" restaurant and no kids menu for the first 20 minutes, I was happy to let my boyfriend calm her down while drinking a wonderful glass of A to Z pinot noir. Our waitress, Cassie (?), was very understanding and gracious. I ordered the Covey Rise Farms Kale Salad and my boyfriend ordered the season flatbread for our starters. My daughter ordered the Mac & Cheese with the fried chicken skin. The turnips and radishes in the kale salad were amazing and so fresh. The flatbread was more traditional, but still very good. I enjoyed the blue cheese topping. For entrees, I ordered the pan seared duck breast and confit and my boyfriend ordered the wood grilled amberjack. I could not get enough of the seared duck breast. So delicious! Plus, I even tricked my daughter into trying it, and she loved it too! The hoe cake was perfect and homey. Plus, the sweet potato noodles were amazing!!! My boyfriend also loved the noodles. I tried his fish, but wasn't as impressed with it as my duck breast and confit. The confit, which I had never tried before, was so delicious and perfectly Southern on top of the hoe cake. For dessert, I ordered the heirloom carrot cake with bourbon ice cream, my boyfriend ordered the Louisiana Strawberries, and my daughter stuck to simplicity with vanilla ice cream despite Cassie's best attempt at getting her to branch out. The cake was perfectly moist and the ice cream was delicious, but my bf's dessert was obviously the star of the show. The strawberry sorbet was a hit with everyone. Plus, the cream cheese ice cream and the chocolate cookie were amazing too. We will definitely be back! Thank you for an amazing dining experience in my hometown! I'm so excited that y'all are here and using local ingredients too! Yum! :)
Delightful evening which we started in the bar so our UK friends could enjoy most of the SEC Tournament game. Finished our evening in the Terrace Room which is undoubtedly the most comfortable and memorable dining rooms we have ever experienced, very sophisticated yet it had two antiqued framed view windows to the kitchen where Culinary Institute of America graduated Chef Austin Sumrall creates his culinary magic. Our guest had the wood oven grilled fresh red snapper, my wife had the red wine braised rabbit and I the pan seared duck breast which was truly exceptional. The property is on the National Register of Historic Places which is a must see.
We enjoyed Sunday Brunch. We had the charcuterie--UNBELIEVABLY AMAZING!!
Cat was our server and perfectly attentive.
Wonderful as always. Great food, drinks and service. Best dining experience on the coast period. Austin is a thoughtful and inventive chef who makes the best of his well selected ingredients. I can’t say enough. I’m a snobby New Orleans native and I love this place.
This a great restaurant in a historic building. The menu changes daily as it is a farm to table restaurant
Outstanding Sunday brunch. This is my second visit and matched the first.
We had a great experience at White Pillars! The culture is "slow down and relax". They want you to enjoy the dining experience so it's best to not come in with a fast food mentality. We loved the chef's creativity!
First time and the experience was wonderful. Not very crowded the night we went which made the service even more attentive. Will be back
Such a lovely ambience and even though it is very elegant, you are fine in casual attire. Chef Austin’s food is always fresh, innovative, and delicious!
Amazing food, great service, and a wonderful experience for our anniversary!
