   Travelled an hour to meet friends for Sunday lunch, very much worth the drive. Excellent food and very friendly and helpful staff.

   Terrible experience. We have visited the White Lion on numerous occasions & always enjoyed it. However this visit was VERY different. We ordered & received our food. After finishing, our plates were promptly cleared away & from this point onwards we were completely ignored, despite various members of staff going backward & forwards serving other customers and we were actually sitting straight opposite the bar!!!! We were not asked if we wished to see a dessert menu. We would have ordered desserts/coffees had we been offered but not one person glanced in our direction. We decided to sit it out for a while, certain that SOMEONE would come to our table, but no. We did observe that the staff seemed mainly to consist of teenagers & it very much felt that none of them appeared to have received any training in customer service. Such a shame …VERY disappointing to receive such an appalling lack of service & needless to say won’t be rushing back any time soon.

   A wonderful meal, served by lovely, friendly staff in a quintessential English pub with great views and great beer.

   Table for 4 booked for Sunday lunch on 4th May. 2 of us went for the pork and 2 went for the roast chicken all of which was very well cooked and served with ample roast potatoes, veg and plenty of thick, rich gravy. There was a private wedding party of 150 on the same day so the pub was closing to the general public at 3:00pm but this didn't detract from the quality of the food or the service.

   Nice table in window. Much of the menu not available which was disappointing. Food average. Told at 21.50pm that it was last orders. Nil ambience as empty…on a Saturday evening. Such a shame as great to have a pub in our village.

   Excellent food great service. Love the roast sharing platter. Only slight niggle is the price of dessert think it’s a bit expensive. Odd because I think the price of the roast is good value

   Booked in for Sunday lunch on Easter Sunday. On arrival we were greeted and seated very efficiently in one of the ground floor snugs with menu`s duly brought to our table.

    Excellent service & superb food. 4* for food as the mushy peas were too peppery. As mother always said you can always add more condiments but you can’t take it out. Overall great place to dine & socialise.
