White Lab gets pizza right. Excellent char on tasty crust, fresh toppings—it was so good. Interesting (daily special) butter bean, roasted broccoli salad. We are going back. It is noisy, lots of hard surfaces. Service is a tad slow, not terrible but noticeable.

Great little spot off the main area. Food was very good. The wood fired pizza was flavorful and the chicken sandwich was good, a little salty but still unique. The beer flight options were nice as well.

I would return but probably not until they open the outdoor seating. GO LOCAL card not accepted. Very noisy. Food was very good. Their website suggests that you must make reservations - you do not. In fact, it appeared that most diners were drop-ins.

We haven't given up on this local bar and restaurant, but our first experience was not great. Getting a table was disorganized despite there were quite a few empty tables. Once we sat we waited well over 15 minutes before anyone came to give us water or discuss the menu, and that was only after we flagged a waiter and asked(which he did not provide but said someone else would be with us). Five minutes later a server came to the table. Once they engaged, service was great, but if we had not been there with my older mom, we definitely would have left and found somewhere else to go at that point. The food came out quickly once ordered, except one of the main courses was forgotten by the kitchen and our food sat on the counter for ten minutes (while they sorted out the error) before they brought it to table and apologized that one entree would be delayed. Everyone enjoyed the food overall. The Poutine was tasty and the serving was massive. The teen boys enjoyed the burger and chicken sandwich and my mom enjoyed the appetizer (Pizza Fritte) so much she ordered that for her entree. The exception to the food quality was the late entree (gnochi) which was very bland and uninteresting---like in the rush they forgot seasoning or other key ingredients. The beer was great and they were generous with tastings, though the cocktail a too-sweet Old Fashioned, was mediocre. We will probably give them another try, but not for a family birthday dinner after a long day of work.

Enjoyed our White Labs Kitchen dinning experience. We went for lunch and were very pleased with the food, service and beer. Not a big venue or menu but what they offered was well prepared and presented at a very good price. We will definitely go back.

Great casual food, tasty pizzas with awesome sourdough crust. Amazing bread! Unique and
interesting, beer selection, but ordering drinks was a slow slog. Waitress brought samples then did not return for long time to take drink orders. Very attractive space. Contemporary, and spare decor. We were there for late day sun, and that was uncomfortable. It was hot and the sun's glare painful. You really need some window shades!

I really enjoy the creative menu, tasty beers, and cool atmosphere. The pizza is outstanding! Maybe it's the house made yeast that does the trick. Salads are also very, very good. I've returned twice and have another visit on the calendar.

Enjoyed sampling a flight of four beers with different strains of yeast. Ordered one of their pizzas and it was burnt on the bottom and soggy dough. Not at all a good pizza.

We went for Asheville Restaurant Week, and while the food was absolutely delicious, it didn’t seem to be very representative of their regular menu, which was mostly pizzas and and sandwiches. I would love to come back again though!

We visited here during Asheville Restauraunt week. It had the best priced meal with the most creative menu! We could not believe the entrees and appetizers and how unique and delicious each one was. The service was great as well as the beer. Love the concentration on yeast in the offerings and saw some crazy giant chicken sandwich that we will be back to try very soon! Would recommend this place for any occasion. Nice seating offerings and kid friendly too. Try this gem!

Totally 5-stars without a doubt. I've been beering in AVL since Highland opened in Barley's basement in 1994 - and I can tell you easily that not every brewery is excellent around here...but White Labs not only nailed it, but did so w/ flying colors off the bat.

Its one thing to produce the yeast we use in homebrewers and for regional brewery beers - but its another altogether to offer 2 beers of multiple styles made with different yeasts for you to compare - and the emphasis on English yeast (our goto) was awesome. The food is totally excellent to boot.

Service - which has really tanked hard in AVL in the last few years - was top notch and we were stoked to be served by a local AVL server we knew from another venue (vs. the typical entitled, outta-towner, hipper-than-you waitstaff that is ruining AVL food & beer culture these days).

So far I've only seen Wedge have barleywines, so for W-Labs to have one each with US and English yeasts to compare blew me away, and their double-beer system is unique. Their Belgian and French saisons were totally on - and in fact, premier for their styles (reminding me of when saisons were skunkier a few years back before they got cleaned up too much and lost their funk). And who's got 2 types of Alt-bier on at once?

Not even sure what to say about the Cascadian Dark - never had a beer like it before...much less with two diff't types of yeast. White Labs totally nailed it.

I'm thrilled to see White Labs here, even if it was just yeast - so to have another brewery and top notch food added to the beer scene here is king. I just hope they don't forget the locals...

Beautiful venue but the food was extremely mediocre - we got three different pizzas to split between 4 of us and they all basically tasted the same. It is SO loud in there that my ears - which have never given me a problem before - were crackling so bad I couldn’t hear anything. Very expensive for what you get. Waitress was scarce and once we paid our bill never stopped by again (it was the middle of the week so there wasn’t a rush for tables). Sorry! The beer was good though.

Amazing selection of beers and pizzas. Really lively and a very fun vibe all around. The creations they cook up with the specialty yeasts were superb the whole way through.

This was our third visit to the restaurant and we keep coming back be a use the food is tasty and the menu is a bit "eclectic". As much as we like this place, it definitely has some challenges. First, it can be a bit challenging to find something to eat if you're carb conscious. Not exactly a "diet friendly menu". Although this time I ordered the salad with grilled chicken which was very good and very healthy. However the last time I got this same salad (without the chicken) it had yummy sausage bits with the greens. I was looking forward to those again but this time they were missing from be the salad, perhaps because I added chicken this time? There were six of us and either our waitress or the kitchen completely overlooked one of our orders (a burger). They didn't fess up to what was going on until after everyone else had gotten their food. At first we were told he order was "coming up shortly" but then when the order still didn't come, they finally told us the order was overlooked. The burger came shortly after that but everyone else was about done with their meal by that time. Also the restaurant is very "industrial" in design and furnishings so there's nothing to absorb the noise. With it also being the holiday season and crowded, the noise level was such that our group of six had a hard time hearing each other. In summary, we will come back because we've really enjoyed all of the different dishes we've had here. However don't come for an intimate dining experience and probably not well suited to a group larger than four.

Really cool yeast flight showcases the variety of flavors in the same beer style pitches with different yeasts. Food was comparable to a nice bistro not a brewpub! 5 Stars

Really nice atmosphere. All of the beers were delicious and the food was exceptional. We had a large group and we're able to sample much of the menu. Pizzas are stellar and the poutine fries the best. Give it a try, it won't disappoint.

Nothing super special about this place. West coast restaurant comes to the easy coast to make some coin. Service was decent, seated at a high top between the tables and the bar. Waitress was somewhat attentive but did forget to put in a major part of the order, the meal. We had a couple of drinks each, some poutine (their version is fries, gravy, egg, and melted cheese instead of cheese curds) sorry not a good substitute for the real thing. Then after a few minutes the waitress asked if we’d like to order anything to which we replied we had already ordered a pizza. She had forgotten and ordered it right away. Once the pizza arrived, prosciutto and ricotta cheese, it fell flat in terms of taste and texture. It was thin, too crisp and their specialty dough did not taste too special.

White Labs is a great place to sample a variety of beers — the same brew with different yeasts, in particular. Asheville science … The food (pizzas and other things) is excellent and interesting (far from just wings and burgers). My only complaint is that it’s incredibly loud. Which some of the younger customers may see as a plus.

Food was original, interesting, and delicious - every component of each dish was very tasty and came together wonderfully! Our server was attentive without being overbearing and was super friendly (in a way that felt genuine). A little off the beaten path, but worth the trip.
