   A good atmosphere and friendly staff but a slightly pretentious menu. Food flavours were good but portions were small for the price charged. Adding 10% on the bill for gratuity without mentioning it was not good enough. Overall pleasant but not exceptional.

   Had a lovely evening meal with family. Food was delicious. Felt the restaurant could do with some low level music as it was quiet. Will definitely visit again to sit in the garden longer.

   Excellent food and service in very pleasant surroundings. We particularly appreciated the fact that there was no music.

   Thank you so much for a lovely evening & remembering my husband’s birthday. The service by the young man ( sorry didn’t get his name) was briliant. He was attentive without being too much & the food was absolutely delicious. What a gorgeous pub. Thank you.

   A great venue, with a really interesting menu. I had the crayfish cocktail very good, my wife had foccacia and humus both very good. I had the lamb and salad and my wife had the Sole and salad, again exactly what we wanted, washed down with some excellent Barsham Topper

    Great venue and location, service was very good. It was disappointing that one of main items on menu (chicken and leek pie) was still being made and wasn’t available for lunch service. Good that it is a homemade pie though! Without this item rest of menu was limited even with two fish specials. Please be aware that main items, eg whole plaice £24 comes without accompaniments so you need to add potatoes and veg for the dish although it gives you more choice it adds significantly to the cost of the meal Overall a lovely venue with good service and menu is good perhaps not great and seems expensive when everything is taken into account
