Or server Liz, was outstanding. Really knew the food, made some great recommendations, and was very thorough. Will come back on account of a lot of the things that she suggested that we were not able to partake in on this visit. It was an awesome experience.
2 people in our party of 5 couldn’t get what they wanted and we were seated at 5 pm for dinner. We were told they sold out. Not cool!
My fish had no temperature and was very boney. It had little or no taste and the potatoes were not even warm.
Great outside seating on beautiful night.
Fantastic waiter. Very attentive.
Zoltan and Josh were great along with all of the service and food!
Very disappointing for the second time. All of my four quests fish entrees were tasteless and bland. The servers were inattentive and clueless about the dishes they were putting in the table. Appetizers were served without plates or utensils
Bla gg great
We reserved a table for 8 and they set for 6. Put us ins corner next to 2 women who looked like we were imposing. Other than that all was fine.
Lovely restaurant. Had lunch there during a visit to the area. Was pleased to see the Main Line is still full of ladies who lunch. Decor was innovative (very dog themed - though that is not a surprise) and pleasant.
Food was quite good. Service was lovely.
One criticism is that the coconut cream pie was more whipped topping than pie which made the pie secondary to the topping.
The cost for three did not equate to the value. It should not have cost as much as it did.
My fiancé and I have been here a handful of times, the last two were the most special as we got engaged there last year on this day - and went back today. The food, the service, everything was so fantastic. The spicy lamb bolognese is always a favorite - the lamb shank, scallops, pork loin are also fantastic. If you haven’t been, and you’re a lover of flavorful, farm to table food with fantastic decor - you’ll love it!
Local, fresh, delicious food. Names of dishes are fun if you like wordplay.
We had a great time celebrating our twins 21st birthday at a Sunday brunch there. Even though we were too full for dessert, the staff surprised us by creating a beautiful light birthday treat for each of the Birthday girls❣️
The cheese plate was $18 and leaves a lot to be desired. The food was good but nothing spectacular. Our waitress acted as if we were an annoyance to her. I wouldn't return.
Made a reservation for 8:30 and arrived a few minutes early, was not seated until 9:00. There were several frustrated groups in the same scenario. As a consolation, we were given a hummus plate appetizer with no charge once seated, but I would much rather have had the value of that dish credited towards my bill. To me, giving out what is likely the cheapest to produce item is a feeble attempt at reconciliation. It became apparent once seated that the wait was likely due to the ineptitude of the serving staff as they were slow in delivering and picking up the bill. We ate quickly, didn’t order drinks, and paid promptly but still spent about 1.25 hours there. Quality food, but if you want to give this restaurant a try I’d recommend the Haverford location. More varied menu options and far better ambiance.
Great food, drinks, and atmosphere!!!
Usually love this place but maybe they were just too busy when we were there for brunch ... took us an hour to get our food. Waiter was great in some aspects and actually semi rude in others.
We love White Dog! The food is delicious, the choices are always interesting, the servers are friendly, and the decor is adorable!
Favorite place for the occasional special night out. As usual, did not disappoint. If conversation is the goal, go late!
Always a good meal and great service. This location is quite a bit less noisy than the Ardmore location and if you are indifferent to driving; choose here every time.
Was 4th or 5th time there. Food was good but not exceptional. Was WAY too loud. My date and I found ourselves cupping our ears the entire meal to hear each other. Waiter was just ok. Completely forgot to get us a few things that we requested (like sweetener) - my date had to get up and get it himself. Probably won't be visiting again anytime soon.
My first time dining at White Dog Cafe. The place is charming, with great canine decor. The food was absolutely delicious. I had the omelette with avocado, pico de gallo, mushrooms and cheddar. The home fries were amazing. The butter served with the bread was delicious: a whipped butter with honey and sea salt. My friend had a pork Cuban sandwich was he said was outstanding. We split a butterscotch creme brulee which was sinfully delicious. I look forward to my next meal there!
I had dinner with some old friends and my daughter at the White Dog. There were good options for the two of us vegans in our group, including an excellent pasta primavera and some good salads, as well as options for the meat eaters. The waitress and chef were careful to get the vegan preferences right and the chef even stopped by the table to check. It's a casual, friendly atmosphere but nice enough for a special dinner. There was an animated bar scene, as well as many diners. We would definitely go back.
Wonderful birthday dinner. Efficient, yet amazing food.
Wonderful dinner! Our meals were delicious, the service exceptional and the ambiance charming. Thanks for lovely Easter dinner!!
Everything was great but we did sit down 40 minutes after our reservation. I guess that can happen for Easter Brunch.
Delicious food. Lovely room. Pleasant, friendly employees. Wasn't rushed. Always enjoy coming here!!!
Food was delicious! Lots of interesting choices that tasted amazing. Our waitress was very attentive and where we were seated allows us to have quiet conversation.
Easter brunch was fantastic!
We had lunch here and we both ended up getting the turkey club, which was outstanding. The service was great. They were training someone new who was very attentive and sweet, although a little nervous, but she did just fine.
We love The White Dog and are returning in a few weeks to celebrate a birthday!
It was my special/big birthday. My husband told them. I didn’t get a candle. I was disappointed.
One of our “go to” places for excellent food, good wines, good service. The Wayne White Dog has such energy and atmosphere of fun & people that dining is much more than a good meal.
Relaxed but not lazy; excellent but not precious & pretentious. Wonderful oysters, salads, Brie & garlic, desserts etc.... really good manhattans ..... good portions...variety without overcrowding the menu....
Service is very good- personal, timely, not overdone.
Families, singles, couples, seniors - there is a seat and very fine meal for everyone here.
Excellent food & service.
I really wanted to like this visit to the White Dog. Used to love the place in the early 2000s when Zach Grainda (sp?) was executive chef. During that era, management seemed to be more tight leashed with the staff and more selective in their hiring as well. Our server was disinterested, evinced by his failure to follow basic steps of service. Our two-top was piled with empty dishes as our server. As for the food, the tuna tartare was the worst I’ve had. The original sesame soy emulsion recipe was changed and this time had more of a spicy and bitter taste, the dish lacking balance and subtle of sweetness that once made it so craveable. The other food was forgettable. The wine was good! However, servers should know the differences among the three chardonnays on the glass list. Wouldn’t hurt to bring back COO Tamas for some staff training.
We arrived for an early dinner ( late lunch, really), 4 pm. The only room that we could sit in was the bar area. This was disappointing, but we made the most of it. We ordered several small plates and shared. All were delicious. I will definitely return and hopefully get to enjoy some of the other rooms.
As always, great food, drinks and great service
This is a “must try” restaurant!! The ambience is wonderful, well appointed and charming. Very relaxing. Very clean.
The food was delicious and satisfying. Try the mushroom soup, absolutely delicious and fresh.
The Trout almandine was delectable. The service was informative, impeccable and friendly .
Prices may seem higher, but its worth the quality.
We will be back!’ Wonderful evening. Thank you!!
I've been to White Dog Cafe several times and was very disappointed with my latest experience. I went for a late lunch. The food was cold and the staff all seemed like they were on break post the lunch break. I sent back one item to be re-cooked and had to eat part of the meal while I waited for the other. Overall, very disappointing. I was also told if I sat in the bar area (in a very uncomfortable table) that they would discount the food by 10%. When I received the bill, it was full price and I had to remind them of the 10% discount which I didn't appreciate having to do.
Brunch date with my wife
