White Dog Cafe - Wayne Ratings and Reviews
The hostess poured us water then we didn't see anyone for over 5 minutes. We sat by the bay window and the room was drafty. Drinks took a long time. Food is of nice quality but the sliders were disappointing. Besides the buns being considerably larger than the beef inside, there were only two on the plate. Should have gotten the full size burger.for $5more and yalem half of it.home.
Despite being ten (10) minutes early for our 7:30 reservation, we still had to wait nearly twenty minutes to be seated. Once seated, service all around was poor: from taking our drink orders to getting bread on the table, apps and entrees - everything was painfully slow. If the meal had not been as good as it was, the evening out would have been a bust.
The food at White Dog Café is second to none, and the atmosphere is always energetic. While this is a "special occasion" type of restaurant, the price is honestly not bad for the quality food you experience. The wait staff is very well learned on the menu options, and will always give a great recommendation.
Overall a great meal. We had to wait about 15 minutes past our reservation time, and just a bit of an annoyance that the drinks we had while waiting at the bar couldn't be carried over to our dinner bill. Tables were pretty close together! Great tasting food was the big plus, and the Pawmagromit house cocktail.
I have been going to White Dog in Wayne for as long as it has been open. I am a local resident and WD is one of my favorites. I must say though how very disappointed I was on Valentine's Day dinner. I made my reservations a month in advance- and when I arrived- you would not know it was not any other day. No flowers on tables, no valentines, no special menu, no chocolates for the table, no champagne with arrival- actually my point is anything would have been nice! No effort was made by the restaurant to make it a special occasion. Seriously! I arrived that morning on a flight from American Airlines with champagne and chocolates and hearts everywhere. why would I in the future think to go there as it was any other night? Why did you advertise so much for Valentines and make zero efforts- I was truly disappointed. you really fell behind other restaurants, and I wish I had made another choice.
As always the White Dog did not disappoint us. I chose the White Dog for our Valentines ❤️Dinner as it my Wife’s favorite. We started at the White Dog in Philadelphia on Samson St., and when they opened out here in Wayne, we were delighted 😄.
From the service to the food, and all in between you will not find a better meal, libations or friendly (knowledgeable) service anywhere.
I was in the area for a last-minute trip with a friend. I had been to the location near Penn many years ago, and thought I'd try this one in Wayne. Even though we made our reservation last minute, we had a wonderful experience. Special thanks to our server, Kristen - her recommendations were all excellent! My friend is a notorious "wine snob" who cringed at the thought of an "American" wine. Kristen was able to point us to a wonderful organic wine on the menu, which my friend loved! Many restaurants serve good food, but this level of service is what put White Dog over the top. Can't wait until I'm in the area again so I can go back for more.
You had me at bottomless mimosas! I have been to White Dog Café many times and it never disappoints. The service is always above and beyond, the menu is well thought out and fresh and seasonal. But for some reason I had never tried the brunch. What a lovely one I had last weekend with my dear friend. I am so pleased to state that this is my new brunch goto! And the icing on the cake--bottomless brunch cocktails...does it get any better than that?
Food was excellent but cheese plate was really small - about four crackers and we had four people and the portions were super small for the price. Service was great. Room was way too warm for comfort. Would recommend to others, but they would do well to fix the cheese plate and the temperature.
One of the best evenings we have had in years. It was my wife’s birthday and a personal greeting card was waiting at the table. Our waitress Kristen was superb, with a warm smile and lovely disposition, she met every need. The manager Ed made us feel welcome and got to know us at our tables. And of course the meal, exquisite, flavor packed dishes that obviously arrived from the very best sources and was prepared by the areas top chefs. Try the luscious velvety mushroom soup before you leave this earth. The perfectly prepared rigatoni with lamb bolognese could only be surpassed by the elegant arctic char lolling about in a pond of aromatic grits and dressed in tangy tomato coulis.
Our only regret is that we can’t go back again tonight...and again...and again...
