White Dog Cafe - Wayne Ratings and Reviews
Awesome service and the food was great. The waiter was great; knowledgeable and very attentive. Most of all the food was awesome. My husband had steak and egg and I had an omelet with a side of sausage. The chicken sausage was the best. We can't wait to go back.
It took them forty-five minutes to seat us (with reservations). They seem to be emphasizing the bar. It was noisy, very noisy, rock music playing, everyone shouting over the music, and the food was mediocre at best. I used to love the atmosphere and the food. I wouldn’t recommend it at night. It was an awful experience.
Our first time here and it turned out nicely for our anniversary. We enjoyed our adult beverage selections; my husband had to hone in on what beer he wanted to try.
Artisan Cheese board with jams was tasty; not our usual. Our entrées (one mahi mahi special and one pork) were flavored nicely to accent the dish. Accompaniments like farro, spatzle were unusual but a nice touch. We split dessert after a big meal, tough to choose. Server Tara took good care of us. Establishment left us an anniversary card for the memory and many along the lines of service shared Happy Anniversary greetings. (Open table great in allowing to you note that on reserving) Management seemed actively present in among diners and staff which I prefer to maximize the experience.
The White Dog has been one of our go-to restaurants for years, and our most recent visit - to celebrate our anniversary - was among the best. We were greeted very warmly and sincerely upon arrival and were seated at a special table in the back room. Our waitress, Liz, was very personable and professional. She paced the entire meal flawlessly so we had plenty of time to enjoy everything. And the food was outstanding as always, which is why we never hesitate to come back. Thank you for a special evening!
Have actually had two meals this week at the White Dog, though only one was an Open Table reservation. My dinner was so good (Open Table Reservation) that a friend and I stopped there early-ish for dinner before heading to a show. Wonderful both times. I raved so much about the Duroc pork from the earlier visit, that my friend had that, and loved it too. I had a delicious Thai Beef Salad. Wonderful place with a lovely staff, and cozy decor.
Had a great dining experience ... lunch at the Wayne White Dog.. Service from the greeting, seating and the server (Alex) was impeccable. The many excellent menu offerings and specials were outstading .. This was one of many great experiences at the Wayne White Dog
We arrived early to have a drink before dinner and the hostess wouldn't let us sit at a bar table (all the bar seats were taken). We were very perplexed as to why she rather lose the revenue rather than let us sit at the empty bar table for 15 minutes.
We left and had our drink elsewhere.
Our dinner was good- everyone enjoyed their meals (salmon, beef special, pumpkin soup) and our server was excellent! We had a quiet table so it was easy to chat.
Our server was great! In fact the entire staff was great. The food was delicious, but the special of beef stew was very small and for the price, somewhat of a ripoff. There was much more stew than actual beef. In a way a complaint of wanting more of a food is a good thing, but for the price
Very unhappy with the new fall menu, food choices for me were very limited. The chef specializes in GOAT, and I didn't want that. The special that night was Arctic Char, they ran out and offered the dish with scallops, which I ordered, the scallops were underdone. My wife ordered the ribs they were described as small and tender, the dish arrived at the table with big and fatty ribs...Wayne needs to up their game and reevaluate the Fall menu.
Needed a place to take some colleagues while I was on business travel. This was perfect for it. Waiter Michael was very attentive and knowledgeable both of the menu and ingredients (we had a gluten free need) as well as the various local/craft beers on the menu. We did a mix of small plates for sharing and then our entrees, and everyone was happy with it.
I've eaten at this restaurant numerous times and this was the first time I did not enjoy my meal. I ordered the shrimp salad which was light on the greens and only 4 shrimp. I thought it would be an entree salad for $25 and it was not. I was quite disappointed with the amount of food and the very bland tasting salad.
The service was phenomenal, our waiter was very knowledgeable about the menu and the specials. The hanger steak was really fantastic although it was a little pricey at $49. The décor is really cute, decorated with dog pictures, dogs on the curtain fabric, etc. Fun place to eat dinner in Malvern!
Having been to WDC several times before it was nice to try it midweek at 8 PM and be seated in a different section than we had previously sat. The corner tables are nice with the bench seating for one and room to spread out a little. Our server, Matt, was very enthusiastic and did a good job answering our menu questions. Nice specialty cocktails and I liked being able to choose from two Oregon Pinot Noirs by the glass. The mushroom soup is always a good choice here and the pumpkin soup was very good too, very thick, rich and flavorful. The tuna tartare was a nice light option for an entree and my wife enjoyed the snapper special (at $36 one of the pricier menu items). Always recommend!
