We had brunch in the middle of the Sunday crush, so things seemed to be stressed. The coffee arrived cold, the orange juice warm, probably due to the delay in getting the drinks out. Service was slower than I anticipated even considering the crowd.
Food was good, but not great. I certainly expected something more remarkable than what was served. Our party of three had a variety of starters and entrees, although all of them arrived at the same time. The one omelet was cold, as if it too were waiting for the rest of the food to be delivered.
Had a reservation for 12:15 and was not seated until 12:50. Food was cold when served.
The food and service was amazing! I will promptly need to come back for brunch. The biscuits and gravy was an amazing side to my red velvet churro waffles. Everything was fresh and delicious.
Had not been there in close to 30 years and all was as I remembered - great food and great atmosphere.
Our reservation was at 7:15 and our food arrived at 9pm. The order was incorrect when it finally arrived.
Food was amazing! Service was amazing as well!
Perfect evening. Servers helped each other, food and drink was terrific! Just a great experience.
Cheese plate was a nice starter, burgers with fries were tasty and salad added a great mix of flavors!
Drinks were also terrific and mostly local.
Excellent fish. Server was friendly, anticipated our wants and brought dishes quickly. Very pleasant experience.
Nice ambience. Delicious food. Very inventive. Excellent service. Beautiful restaurant
Delightful atmosphere, good food, pleasant, welcoming staff. Nothing not to like.
Many of the food items were not available.
Even with reservations, there always seems to be a lengthy wait to be seated at a table. Over 30 minutes with a lunch res.
Food always sounds terrific on the menu but falls a little short on the plate. Example #1: Avocado BLT...not a difficult dish to execute, but this had lots of bread and not very much in the middle. Not even very much sauce on the bread. The bacon was tasty but not much of it on the sandwich. You’d think a BLT would have a decent amount of B. Example #2: Catfish sandwich...small piece of fish. Sure, if your charging $7 or $8 then maybe shouldn’t be that big. But these dishes are upwards of $16+.
On a positive note, the chips and truffle fries were excellent.
Probably won’t go back...seems to be a consistent theme...but it’s always busy. I’m sure they won’t miss us.
Valentines Day brunch went perfect! We will definitely be back soon! The restaurant is super clean, unique and modern!
An excellent brunch offering that is creative without being crazy. The space is cozy and comfy, too. The restrooms are smidge snug; not sure how a large person could fit in those spaces. Overall, fabulous and we'll be back!
White Dog is a great package for a weekend or week night meal. Eclectic decor, solid menu with plenty to offer all palettes- and consistent so you can rely on getting your favorites. Service if attentive. Lamb Bolognese is rich, beet salad is fresh and plentiful.
Food and service was amazing! Definitely must try the red velvet churro waffles before they change their seasonal menu!
Excellent food and service.
Always a fantastic dining experience! Great food and great ambiance!
The restaurant seemed to be very overbooked for Valentine’s Day. I made a reservation for 8:30pm but was not able to be seated until 9:15. During dinner, our server was very frantic and overburdened with tables (they were probably understaffed). My alcoholic drink intended for a rocks glass was served in a mason jar, we were given butter knives to cut our steaks, and it took 30 mins for the server to return with our check when we were ready to leave...at 11pm. The food was great but the dining experience was unsatisfactory.
I had great hopes for this restaurant because it had such positive reviews. I’m hoping that this was due to sheer volume and lack of organization for the occasion.
I took my Sweetheart for Valentine's Dinner and we were both blow away. The service was great and the food was absolutely great and will be back soon.
Good food, a bit expensive but local dishes/ingredients so makes sense. The "bees knees" drink was amazing!
Attentive but not overbearing service busy lunch crowd of Penn staff
We love the white dog cafe and always have a great experience!
I have enjoyed White Dog for a period exceeding 25 years. Isn’t that an extraordinary run! I loved the Judy Wicks period and find my time well spent with new owners. Eat it all, no questions asked. Ask for Isaac, he is charming. See you there.😎
Bottomless means bottomless not 5 drinks and done
So much fun! Bottomless brunch was amazing! Food was great and our waitress Mallory was so cool!
This place has a lot of character and a nice menu. The espresso isn't great, and the food is pretty rich. I think I had a better time when I sat at the bar and got a cocktail with brunch. I'd still recommend it, though.
Food was fabulous, as always. Fresh, interesting and delicious. Service was terrible. We waited forever for our drinks, appetizers and entrees were brought out randomly. Everything took far longer than it should have.
Requested a quiet table and gratefully were seated downstairs and it was perfect.
Christina was our server and she was professional, not overly friendly, and helpful with the details of several dishes.
Love this place. Our waitress was terrific. Thanks for everything!
I have been to White dog multiple times. I think for brunch it is the perfect place but dinner is not that great!
Don't walk, run to get the hot catfish sandwich with home seasoned chips. Its amazing!
Wonderful lunch in a fun atmosphere.
We have gone to White Dog Cafe on many occasions, especially before or after Penn home basketball games. The food, service and atmosphere are consistently outstanding. A family favorite!
Make sure you trying the cauliflower app!
Blackberry cabernet sorbet was a beautiful burgundy color and was so flavorful, especially the cabernet.
Great! The food, service, drinks.... all awesome!
For drinks only...food sucked...........
Love the atmosphere and decor but the lunch service was very slow. Took 40 minutes to get a burger and turkey sandwich...and that was sitting at 1245. Wasn’t restaurant was 1/2 full. Food was delicious but not worth the time for lunch.
