White Dog Cafe-Haverford
We enjoyed a perfect brunch and every bite was delightful. I am always grateful for a restaurant that offers locally sourced and organic items on the menu. I am sensitive to wheat and appreciate the gluten free breads that are graciously offered. Brunch at the White Dog Cafe is something that I look forward to!
Service and food were quite good, but there was a screaming baby that made our first 20 minutes or so a bit unpleasant.
8 ppl mandatory 20% for terrible service. Food was just ok - I have much better food at other higher end restuarants
Mushroom soup was amazing!
The restaurant was busy on a Tuesday afternoon.
White tablecloth restaurant, very pleasant atmosphere, good for all adult age groups, food is excellent though not wildly innovative. We eat there often.
Birthday dinner for my son
Love the new menu! Food was excellent. Our server was so knowledgeable about seasonal produce and the menu. The food is consistently above expectation at the white dog which makes this restaurant a great go to for family dinners and special occasions.
It's always super noisy at brunch, which makes it difficult to have your own conversation. We love the food and service though, so we will continue to meet there!
The food was fabulous but the service was a little disappointing.
Great high-quality food. Good, quieter atmosphere.
Love White Dog! This is the first time at the Haverford locations. The evening was lovely and the food was very good, although mine was a little spicer than I thought. Unfortunately the people next to us were a little loud. The waitstaff was just the right amount of attentive. All in all is was a nice evening!
Everything was outstanding, from the decor to the service, and of course the food. 10/10 would recommend and will definitely be back.
Service excellent. Salad mediocre. Entrées-scallops/trout were average
Always a good meal at White Dog. Perfect for a casual Friday night out.
Great meeting place for a business meeting. Food was excellent and fresh, the environment was not too loud, and the service was outstanding.
Great vegetarian food!
Had a perfect dining experience today for lunch !
Great service from the moment we walked in .
I had a delicious cappuccino and my date had a Arnold Palmer . For lunch she had the soup and sandwich , I had the smoked salmon latkes
Everything tasted great! Thanks White Dog !
I was dining with my high school French teacher who is with the Sisters of Mercy. The staff was great to her and we appreciated their attention to Sister.
It is a go to for us. Always enjoy a night out at the White dog
Several years ago I went to the White Dog Cafe in Wayne, their first venture into the suburbs...and I was disappointed to be served fish that was overcooked. Maybe they were still figuring out how to make a second location work. Years later, I had a very good experience at the Haverford location. Everything was cooked perfectly--which is especially impressive for the scallops.
Restaurants generally err on the side of overcooking seafood, because customers voice their dissatisfaction more strongly when fish is undercooked than they do when it's slightly overcooked. These scallops were cooked exactly as they should be--just until opaque in the center.
I don't hesitate to recommend White Dog Cafe and this Haverford location.
Better than a chain restaurant by far, but still a bit crowded and we had to work at not listening to the people at the next table, and keeping them from listening to us! The food was very good - not spectacular, but quite good. Our waitress was fantastic!!! Thank you Alex for really making our evening a special one!
The restaurant was quieter than normal but that didn’t prevent a comedy of errors with our orders. We both ordered the Kennett Square Omelette, mine without cheese and more spring mix instead of the home fries. The omelettes came out and my omelette on the plate with just greens clearly had cheese spilling out of it, so we moved the home fries onto the plate and traded. Upon closer examination, I discovered that the other omelette also had cheese, just much less. The waitress kindly brought oil and vinegar to the table as this was happening, explaining the the vinaigrette has dairy, but all the greens at the table had been dressed. So my plate went back and I got a bowl of dry greens and was able to start on my salad. When my omelette came out, there was a side of home fries. Rather than watch my plate leave a second time, I just did not eat the home fries. The food was delicious, but it was a longer wait than usual to actually get what I ordered. The manager sent out complimentary sorbet, which was nice, but the server didn’t know and when we told him that we hadn’t ordered that, he took it away. We got it back with an explanation, but things could be so much smoother if the server had known what was going on.
White Dog rocks! Great food, service, and, of course, doggies galore!
A pleasant spot in the Philadelphia subburbs, the main rooms are decorated in an eccletic mix of colors and furniture. The selections change with the seasons. I chose the turkey bacon sandwich on sourdough, I requested the bread to me toasted, and it was done perfectly. My wife code the 3 cheese sandwih and soup combo and my brother-in -law had the mussels which were cooked to perfection. We enjoyed our lunch and lingered over coffee for almost 3 hours. It was a great afternoon.
Food and service is always excellent. However, I usually only come when I have a discount,
as the prices are steep for the amount of food given.
The dog painting make the place a bit quirky in a good sense. The water was attentive and the food was perfect. It was brunch so we opted not to get a drink though what I saw on the menu was interesting.
Another winner brunch. Food was delicious again. Service is perfect. Appear when you need but not overbearing. This place is doing it right!
Enjoyable atmosphere- eclectic menu - personable bartender & waitstaff.
Our server was warm, attentive, and made the dining experience wonderful!
The food was delicious- arrived hot and artfully prepared.
The entire experience was A+. My husband’s Vesper martini was Exactly how he loves it. Definitely going back .
Food was very good. Noise level a little high.
Sat in a booth near the bar for the first time in a while and it was very nice - actually quieter than either of the dining rooms generally are. High end burgers are quite trendy now, but this might be the best one I have sampled. The deviled egg starter is also very good and my wife enjoyed the avocado toast and butternut squash soup. Service was prompt and friendly without being excessively friendly - just right.
Loved it! Waiter was great. My Caesar salad was delicious, and my boyfriend’s burger was delicious. My apple cider mocktail was also perfect, and my boyfriend liked his beer. The only thing we didn’t like was the truffle fries— a little over done.
We always enjoy the White Dog . Love the waitresses, you do an excellent job in training & they are so pleasant. Good food & the noice control is great - mix crowd & you can actually hear your dinner companions.
It was very nice. Staff were great. Didn’t rush us at all
Superb as always!
We had a great time. Just wish that had a baby changing station in the super large bathrooms!
The WHITE DOG still has a strong bark!
Service was most pleasant and competent. Food was generally excellent especially the hummus appetizer and scallops entree.
Atmosphere is most enjoyable and bright with the wonderful dog portraits everywhere.
My only negative is that some of the tables are too close-eg my party of 2 was right on top of a very loquacious high volume party of 4.
Other than this, it was a great time.
We had a delicious dinner. The setting is really beautiful...and different. Dog paintings, statues, etc. everywhere. It was memorable.
