Earnest Hemingway once named a blank piece of paper “The White Bull”. The blank page excited him. He realized that with every new blank page came another opportunity to express himself with words that changed people’s lives forever, we are translating this philosophy to our concept and menu to obtain the same result.

The white bull has the farm to table concept down pat. They even churn their own butter. The only “cheat” to local Georgia ingredients is seafood, which is sourced from either Florida, South Carolina or Georgia’s Atlantic coast.

We started with bread which was delicious! I had the swordfish crudo which was delicious. The pasta plates, despite what they tell you, are full size portions. You will have too much food if you order a pasta course along with a main course. I had a pork ragu pasta dish that I had to take home for lunch. It was ok but I didn’t like the pork being pulled instead of ground for the ragu. The bone-in pork chop was delicious, although the long bone sticking out of it with traces of bloody gristle clinging to it was a bit visually jarring. For dessert, the oatmeal cookie ice cream sandwich is a must try! It is a good size and can be shared. The taste is divine.

The wait staff is wonderful. Attentive, excited about the menu, and make extra effort to be sure you have a good meal. Definitely a place to check out!

Amazing food!!
I own a successful restaurant and have had the pleasure of experiencing some of the best food in the world, these guys are doing some special.
Farm to table has become a buzz word, so I’m always skeptical. True farm to table is magical when done right, but so many times now days it’s just an empty tag line. It usually means nothing more than subway tile, new “reclaimed wood”, and blasé hipsters that talk about obscure food harvested on a full moon with love and purity in the farmers heart! Then you get something weird on a slate tile and have to eat with an antique hand rake, then your handed a bill for $197 that’s tucked down in a succulent plant. While the waitstaff is young and cool, they clearly care about the food and guests. Our server clearly understood the chefs vision. Started with “take my word” cocktail. A savory cocktail with a hint of sweetness of an heirloom tomato that tasted like it came from the field, not a cocktail shaker. It was complex and subtle at the same time. Perfect summer drink, very refreshing. My appetizer was whipped ricotta on toast with tomato jam and a couple other complimentary ingredients. The flavors and textures were perfection. Swordfish and the best pasta dish I’ve ever had were to follow. If you enjoy simple, real food prepared with skill and craftsmanship, you’ll love this place!!

I found the amazing Chef Pat in a restaurant in Ct. where I live. I must have dined there twice a month maybe more, brought many friends and family just so everyone could experience his food. Not only is he creative but comes out of the kitchen often just see how everyone responded to new ideas and foods. I am thrilled to have found him again. I work in Atlanta twice a year so all is not lost. IF YOU LOVE CREATIVE FRESH INVENTIVE COOKING YOU MUST GO . bravo !!!!!!!!!~~

Some of the best food I’ve had in a long time! The space is a very beautiful and warm environment! Our waiter was very knowledgeable and recommended some great dishes for us! And the food was amazing- highly recommend the bread and butter, angliotti, and lamb steak.

Service seemed to be understaffed even with all tables not full. Overall dining experience was over 2 hours with app, entree, and bottle of wine. Seems like we were always waiting for the waiter to take our order. Gnocchi was great though, might be the best I've had.

Overall, my partner and I didn’t think this new spot was quite worth the hype. Maybe they’re still working out some kinks, but it ended up feeling overpriced for what we got.

The place was packed, so service was a bit slow (we had a reservation for 9pm and sat at the bar for 20 minutes before we were sat). The food feels more shareable than not (which is great for us), but this does mean it arrives as it’s ready. Our first few courses took quite a bit of time, but by the end of our meal, things were arriving promptly. Our server seemed very busy and distracted, but was nice enough.

The noise level was pretty high. We definitely had to shout across our two-top to have a conversation, and the setup of the tables puts you very close to other guests. Maybe a foot between each table for the waiter to slide into.

The squash blossoms were delicious, and the cocktails were tasty as well, but overall our entrees were a bit of a let down for the price. We both had pasta dishes and they came across as undersalted and a bit bland. Maybe this was a response to the “super salty” comments preceding ours! Luckily, the table had a salt cellar, so we seasoned each (and almost every) dish ourselves.

The Vietnamese iced coffee ice cream and brownie were delish!

We really liked this place. We were there later on a Monday night so it wasn't too crowded, but that gave us a chance to eat at the bar and chat up Kevin, the bar manager. He is mixing up some wonderful cocktails. We also enjoyed trying chicken livers and the sou vide egg starters, and the chicken and steak entrees. We will go back often.

Service was a bit glacial; the food took an exceptionally long time to appear. Everyone was super-friendly, but we got the impression the restaurant was somewhat short-staffed on a Monday evening (the place was about 5/8 full). The combined menu (one side) and wine card (the other side) on rough yellow paper was laughably illegible in the low lighting and telegraphed "cheap." One shouldn't have to light up one's phone to see what's on offer. As to the sound level, we did notice the management lowered the volume of the "background" music as more patrons came in (good move, but why not keep the music down from the start so folks can talk? Some people -- non-shouters -- go out to dinner to converse). Acoustics were bad: all hard surfaces, with no attempt to baffle the reverberation. We hope this place makes it, because the food is original, but the owners need to have a bit more care for their customers' wants and needs.

This place was ok. The restaurant is beautiful, decor is pretty and has a cool vibe. Location is killer. Cocktails were very, very good. Service was lacking. I asked the server for a “menu tour” hoping for a description of each dish. She basically said “these are apps, these are pasta, these are mains, everything is good.” I asked for a recommendation , and she said everything she has eaten there has been good. Food was hit and miss. The duck egg and polenta was delicious. Pork belly was good, not great. Steak was disappointing and the steak knives were dull and made it hard to eat the steak. I won’t go back there.

The food was absolutely delicious and the service was excellent. Our only disappointment was the limited wine list. Wonderful that they are featuring organic wines, but very limited for options. I would definitely recommend checking this restaurant out. Very good, local farmers and super tasty!

This restaurant is the next best in Atlanta. From the warm and lovely greeting at the door all the way to the precision and dedication the back of house displayed in their food. Tempura Squash blossoms stuffed with ricotta and basil were simple but elegant and perfectly executed. For the entree I ordered the pork belly and as a man of bbq I’ve had a pork belly 1,001 different ways but this one stands alone and was truly the best pork belly I’ve ever had. Would recommend to anyone

The atmosphere was outstanding and the food was good. I’d give a higher rating but my pasta was incredibly salty - the texture was wonderful but just too much salt in the dish. And we had the trout, which tasted amazing but it was just ever so slightly over cooked - like, 20 seconds too long in the pan. But I will definitely go back to give other things a try. The fresh-baked bread was truly incredible, the on-site churned butter was divine, and the ricotta-stuffed squash blossoms were to die for.

Our daughter raved about her dining experience at White Bull, so we put it next on our list. We had an enjoyable dinner, slightly marred by having to send back the spaghetti with shrimp which was so salty as to be inedible. The staff was very prompt and conscientious in bringing a new meal. For a mushroom lover like myself, the gémelli with mushrooms was heavenly. The service was excellent. Overall, White Bull is a welcome addition to the Decatur dining scene and worth a trip even if you don’t live in the ‘hood.

Unbelievably spectacular! Great food alchemy. Exceedingly delicious. I suggest you book a reservation and make your belly happy. Casual sophistication. It’s like your grandma went to the CIA and she is cooking food that you may not have tried before but now you want it everyday.
Ambience is perfect for a couple or a family or a group of friends. The menu is smart and well developed. Perfect wine list.
Chicken livers on in-house artisan bread just tasted like butter !
The fusilli was exceptional.
The pork belly was moist and tender.
The peach chess pie was a slap your momma moment.
Go and you will want to like the plate or ask for more.

Second time to this great place! The food is wonderful! I love the chicken liver appetizer! Unfortunately, the AC was out, but they brought in freestanding units... just not enough in this Georgia heat! I hope they get that fixed! I was sad that my favorite (after one visit) dessert was gone.. the Lemon Tart.. I love it there! I'll definitely be back! I would recommend reservations as they seem to be getting busy!!!

Really good first impression of White Bull! The staff was very welcoming and pleasant, especially after knowing that I was trying not to die on a blind, first date. The servers could recite every part of the menu. Our server gave us excellent recommendations, I didn’t even care that their AC wasn’t working. I let my date choose the restaurant from a preferred list I sent him, but he happened to be gluten-free (oy vey) and the server had no problem accommodating him. Their food was just damn good and I didn’t die, which is a plus. Don’t count carbs (or be one of those gluten-free people, yuck!) and get a pasta dish, you won’t regret it!

Our experience was subpar all around. Our service was very spotty - little information provided and very uneven in the delivery of food and coordination with wine ordered. Our wines with entrees came at the very end of the meal. The restaurant also did nothing to accommodate the lack of air conditioning. They did not seem to care about the overall experience (dining in 85+ degrees). The food was good, albeit underseasoned. Not worth a trip back given other options.

The food is spectacular and just different. You want to share dishes so you can try a little bit of everything. Wine options were very good as well. Really liked our server, but the restaurant seemed to be understaffed the night we were there, so it took too long to get wine, water refills, etc. A/C was out when we were there, but management improvised with fans. It was a little warm, but I’m not even complaining because the overall experience was so great. Took foodie friends who very much enjoyed the food and experience, too.

The decor in the restaurant was very nice and our server was extremely friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, because of the open space and hard surfaces and cramped seating, it was very difficult to carry on a conversation with the person sitting directly across from me. While the server was very generous in offering to explain anything and everything on the menu, it seemed to be designed and written purposefully to be as esoteric and oblique as possible. The food was good, but it didn't match the expectation set by the space and the menu.
