Ernest Hemingway once named a blank piece of paper "The White Bull." Welcome to our blank canvas.
The food was exceptional. I can’t wait to go back.
Server was excellent. He made great recommendations. The food was delicious.
Great night! We arrived a little early and sat at the bar, super friendly staff that took our drink orders. As our reservation time approached, we decided to eat at the bar instead of taking a table.
They went out of their way by preparing an order of spoon bread for us - even though it was not on the menu that night. That was followed by oysters and black spaghetti- everything was superb. Consistently great drinks, food and service.
Unique menu, great food!!
Noah was great! Food was awesome.
Good was a bit slow coming out. Seemed short staffed
We loved our meals and enjoyed our desserts. The restaurant is very nicely decorated and the staff was on top of our needs. The only thing I’d mention is that it was pretty dark in there and I saw several tables using their cellphones to illuminate the menu .
10/10 dining experience. Our waiter, Elijah, was super informative and friendly. I had the black spaghetti, shrimp, chorizo, jalapeno, tomato which was SO delicious and my girlfriend had a beet pasta that was exquisite. Definitely recommend!
Food and drinks were excellent. This was our second visit. One of our new favorite places in the Druid Hills / Decatur area.
Everything was fresh, delicious, & nicely presented. The pasta is amazing. I will definitely be back.
My husband and I dined at White Bull on New Year's Eve. We live in the neighborhood, so it was a no-brainer ... without a doubt the best restaurant in Decatur. But the experience exceeded our expectations. The setting was festive, the staff were accommodating, the service was excellent, and the food was outstanding. I have never had scallops anywhere (and I travel frequently for my job, in and outside the US) that could hold a candle. And the poached swordfish was amazing. There was a wine pairing that we did not opt for, but I wish I had. The price was right. On the walk home we reflected an a perfect New Year's Eve celebration.
This place is a gem!! From the service to the inventive cocktails and surreal food - it is consistently excellent.
Can’t say enough about White Bull - The hummus, black spaghetti and the egg nog cocktail - wow...just wow!!!
You should really, really eat your next meal out at The White Bull. Of course the pasta is wonderful, but honestly ALL the food, the drinks (the bartender must be mixing magic in!) & the service (warm, attentive) are so. dang. good. We've been several times now & this visit was the best it's ever been.
Everything about it was great!
Great food presentation and fresh ingredients. Service was impeccable with server providing a description when each seven course dish was served.
Drink service was a little slow. Otherwise, incredibly delicious and enjoyable!
The Feast of the Seven Fishes is a mark-it-on-your-calendar annual event the last week before Christmas. Don't miss this! The house-made pasta (from flours milled in-house), and other farm-to-table ingredients set this restaurant above similar Italian joints. Treat your friends and family to a polenta party, and they'll love you forever. The service is excellent; the ambiance is chic and modern, but warm and inviting.
I have always had a good experience here. This time I have to say it didn’t rock my world. My brunch was a hash and the sweet potatoes still having the skins on was kind of unpleasant. There was a lot of fat and sauce and didn’t feel like much meat in the dish. My family had the brunch burgers and while in the past they were outstanding, something had changed with the way they were made and with a regular old slice of American cheese on top made it feel less special. The chocolate torte was brick-like. I had just come to expect much better from this establishment.
Every thing was outstanding, from the service to food!
Outstanding food and the service was great. Will definitely go back again abd again.
Excellent Service from wait time until time to leave. The food was well presented, fresh, and tasty. An excellent evening overall
As soon as we were seated, the waiter told us that we needed to order right away because the restaurant was going to be busy and we needed us to eat quickly so they could seat others. He continued to badger us about ordering. Once, I asked him to come back in 10 minutes. He came back In maybe 2 minutes. I asked him ‘was that 10 minutes?
Cozy environment with attentive staff. Quiet and good environment for conversation.
Had such a nice meal at White Bull. The pakora and pastas were fabulous and I can't wait to try other dishes on the next visit. Cocktails are boozy but with unique flavors and the service was excellent. My only regret is that we were a attending a show at Eddie's Attic and didn't have time for dessert - next time!
This place is very charming and cozy. Our server was adorable and very knowledgeable. The food we had was very tasty....BUT! Don’t call yourself farm to table and then not have a single salad on the menu or even any sides that are vegetable....we craved and missed the fresh crunch and vitality that more veg brings to a meal.
This was my 2nd time here. The first time the hostess tried to sit us by the bathroom even though we had a reservation and there was another open table. However after insisting on moving, the experience was excellent. So I arranged to meet friends here. This experience was much less enjoyable. From the lack of a Chardonnay on the wine list, to upcharging $5 on a vodka martini (from Tito’s to Belvedere) without letting us know and ending with bringing out ice cream dessert for one person, 10-15 minutes ahead of bringing other desserts out. The food was excellent, but it was an overall mess.
All four of us had a different pasta dish and all were terrific. The bread service and special spread were also delicious. What sets this restaurant apart is the more intimate atmosphere and fantastic service.
Wait staff was a little slow. The first time I went the food was fabulous. This time, appetizer had way to many flavors to enjoy dish. Food was served luke warm. Probably will not go back.
Very creative chef
Food and drinks were incredible, Noah did a fantastic job describing the menu and making recommendations. Kevin, the GM, was also wonderful making sure we always had everything we needed. Thanks to everyone at The White Bull for making our dinning experience excellent.
Food was incredible, service spectacular, and ambiance aesthetically pleasing.
Food was very fresh, cooked perfectly, and beautifully plated.
Amazing food, wine, and service
The food was excellent but the atmosphere is lacking. The noise level combined with the close proximity of tables makes it nearly impossible to carry on a conversation with your dining companion.
We thoroughly enjoyed our meal. The hostess was very knowledgeable about the menu and recommended excellent wine pairings for us. Our table ordered the hummus, the chicken and two pasta dishes. All were outstanding and as described by our server. We'll be back!
The menu is delicately chosen based on the season’s best offerings and the chef does an amazing job at preparing the food accordingly. The wine pairings were perfect and so was the ambiance. Definitely a “must experience” if you’re in downtown Decatur.
Food was delicious. I had to use the light of my cell phone to read the menu and see the dish. I a didn't appreciate being offered the table by the kitchen when the restaurant was deserted and only a couple of other diners. That's bad optics when you are with people of color eating in downtown Decatur.
Never disappoints ..
It’s always good
Excellent service. Went on a Monday night and place was pretty empty even when we left at 8pm. Food feels over complicated. Fried green tomatoes app was best dish. Breakfast radish app made no sense, though sauce was good. Chicken entree was just average but very complicated to make. Same for pork shoulder presse entree. Desserts were fine, not spectacular. Had donuts and panna cota. May return to try pastas but too many other options in Decatur to do so anytime soon.
Food was very tasty and farm-to-table. Place is beautiful. Waiters are awesome. But portions are pretty small given the prices. Splitting an appetizer and each getting our own main, then splitting a dessert... we still left hungry.
