As soon as we were seated, the waiter told us that we needed to order right away because the restaurant was going to be busy and we needed us to eat quickly so they could seat others. He continued to badger us about ordering. Once, I asked him to come back in 10 minutes. He came back In maybe 2 minutes. I asked him ‘was that 10 minutes?
This place is very charming and cozy. Our server was adorable and very knowledgeable. The food we had was very tasty....BUT! Don’t call yourself farm to table and then not have a single salad on the menu or even any sides that are vegetable....we craved and missed the fresh crunch and vitality that more veg brings to a meal.
This was my 2nd time here. The first time the hostess tried to sit us by the bathroom even though we had a reservation and there was another open table. However after insisting on moving, the experience was excellent. So I arranged to meet friends here. This experience was much less enjoyable. From the lack of a Chardonnay on the wine list, to upcharging $5 on a vodka martini (from Tito’s to Belvedere) without letting us know and ending with bringing out ice cream dessert for one person, 10-15 minutes ahead of bringing other desserts out. The food was excellent, but it was an overall mess.
All four of us had a different pasta dish and all were terrific. The bread service and special spread were also delicious. What sets this restaurant apart is the more intimate atmosphere and fantastic service.
Wait staff was a little slow. The first time I went the food was fabulous. This time, appetizer had way to many flavors to enjoy dish. Food was served luke warm. Probably will not go back.
Very creative chef
Food and drinks were incredible, Noah did a fantastic job describing the menu and making recommendations. Kevin, the GM, was also wonderful making sure we always had everything we needed. Thanks to everyone at The White Bull for making our dinning experience excellent.
Food was incredible, service spectacular, and ambiance aesthetically pleasing.
Food was very fresh, cooked perfectly, and beautifully plated.
Amazing food, wine, and service
The food was excellent but the atmosphere is lacking. The noise level combined with the close proximity of tables makes it nearly impossible to carry on a conversation with your dining companion.
We thoroughly enjoyed our meal. The hostess was very knowledgeable about the menu and recommended excellent wine pairings for us. Our table ordered the hummus, the chicken and two pasta dishes. All were outstanding and as described by our server. We'll be back!
Food was delicious. I had to use the light of my cell phone to read the menu and see the dish. I a didn't appreciate being offered the table by the kitchen when the restaurant was deserted and only a couple of other diners. That's bad optics when you are with people of color eating in downtown Decatur.
Never disappoints ..
It’s always good
Excellent service. Went on a Monday night and place was pretty empty even when we left at 8pm. Food feels over complicated. Fried green tomatoes app was best dish. Breakfast radish app made no sense, though sauce was good. Chicken entree was just average but very complicated to make. Same for pork shoulder presse entree. Desserts were fine, not spectacular. Had donuts and panna cota. May return to try pastas but too many other options in Decatur to do so anytime soon.
Food was very tasty and farm-to-table. Place is beautiful. Waiters are awesome. But portions are pretty small given the prices. Splitting an appetizer and each getting our own main, then splitting a dessert... we still left hungry.
Outstanding food and service. Will be returning soon
great service, great food!!
The food was good. Pasta was delicious but a bit overpriced. Service was great.
What a wonderful evening with my daughter! We’re both vegan and they made a special menu for us, and it was absolutely delicious! Stellar service, great wine list, we will be back!
2nd time at the White Bull and was just as impressed with the menu as our first time. Had the bread and butter appetizer with the egg plant. Entrees we had the short rib and the francobulli with potato and brown butter. The entrees were quite delicious. Must try dishes.
Drinks I had the basically which had an Autumn theme with the pumpkin spice and vodka.
My only criticism is that I could not get the pasta tasting menu on Friday night. Total bummer as that was the only night I could stop by. Otherwise a very nice restaurant with great food and cocktails.
It was pretty expensive for what the food was. Nothing was over the top like In the best I have ever had Service was slow. Portions were good.
Super friendly, fun and helpful waitstaff.
Everything was great except the noise. It was simply too noisy for me. It was difficult to hear any conversation. But the food was interesting and very good.
Adventurous menu with words we didn’t know ... staff was helpful... brought sample dish of house made pastas to table to describe processes... answered all of our naive questions.
Food was excellent, served timely, nice ambience to room ... went on a Sunday night crowd was at about 59% capacity.
Look forward to a repeat visit to try more menu items....
Reminiscent of a quaint bistro that would be in a Chicago neighborhood situated in Dacatur GA. From the warm greeting and the special birthday card singed by the staff. The food was delicious: every course...Effortless.
consistently good, consistently friendly, consistently inventive without falling in love with the obscure. talent driven pasta-making, honest sincere hospitality - it is a joy to eat at white bull
Very much enjoyed the meal. Would have enjoyed it more if the entree had been accompanied with a small salad. Will definitely be a return customer.
Beautiful rustic chic decor. We sat at a high table sitting on stools without backs. I was concerned but ended up being very comfortable. A+ in Presentation, quality and a wonderfully unique but small menu. All 7 in my party loved our dinners. Nice selection of cocktails and wine. Good beers but wish they had some on draft. The GM greeted us when we arrived which was a nice touch. Would definitely return.
We love this restaurant! food is always fabulous. Staff is awesome. So delicious! amazing pasta.
Went on a quiet Wednesday night. Amazing food, staff, and chefs. Will absolutely be coming back time and time again.
One server short so waited on by the GM, Kevin, who was simply outstanding. Food was exceptional and service even better.
Creative menu, delicious food (maybe a little generous with salt seasoning) great service and casual fun dinner out. Def will visit again when back in Atlanta.
Our new favorite Atlanta Restaurant. Ever changing menu depending on freshness of ingredients available. Creative and inventive food that never disappoints. All in a casual-elegant setting with a great vibe. Kevin, the restaurant manager is amazing as is all of his staff always providing amazing service and guidance on the different menu items. If you haven't been there yet, it is time you did! You'll be glad you did.
I love seeing this restaurant grow! The service is excellent, the cocktails on point, the appetizers always evolving and reflecting fresh local produce—and are inventive and amazing. The sweet potato app was so good, we ordered a second. The pasta and chicken we excellent as well. I cant say enough about the staff, including the hospitality of the house manager, Kevin. I recommend The White Bull to all my friends and colleagues and am pleased to have such a great place as my local “haunt”.
We weren't all that wowed with The White Bull. We were seated next to a wall separating us from the bar. The table next to us was so close we could hear every word they said. Several different servers stopped by but none seemed available when, for example, we would have liked to order a second glass of wine. I would call the service friendly but somewhat ineffective. The food was good but most of what we ordered came lukewarm. We asked if the poached egg on the spoon bread appetizer could be cooked medium but were told no because the appetizers had been "previously prepared." I really wonder if all the dishes had been "previously prepared" (plated) which would account for the tepid temperatures of what we were served. We saw the small pasta portions at our neighboring table and asked if we could add a side of broccolini (or any veggie) to our plates but were told that was not possible. Instead, we ordered the wax bean appetizer with our entrees and it was delicious ~ far and away the best dish of the night.
Overall, we had an average experience at The White Bull but at an above-average price. I doubt we will go back.
I had an early reservation so the crowd was fairly light. Pasta is the star of the show here. I had the black spaghetti and it was outstanding. A ton of flavor, excellent heat, and the texture of the pasta was wonderful. Pair that with the shitake hummus app and a wonderful cocktail or two and it was an outstanding meal. Service was top notch and our server was knowledgeable on all aspects of the menu.
Plenty of parking available in the adjacent garage and an easy walk to many different spots to keep the evening going. Can't wait to return!!
Delicious! Food and drinks were perfect. Excellent, excellent service.
Went with my family tonight. Great unique dishes. Service was great. Waiter was informative, but not intrusive. The value was good.
