Whistle Britches - Dallas
This was my first time visiting Whistle Britches. I had heard good things through the grapevine so my friends and I decided to have brunch and my celebrate my birthday there. Everything was wonderful! I loved the atmosphere and the decadent selection of entrees. I will surely go back to try some of your other choices. Our server was very friendly and helpful. Looking forward to a trip back!
nice outdoor patio - good variety of chicken dishes
Great food, great service, definitely one of my go to brunch place.
Loved the restaurant and the food was amazing! Definitely get the biscuits, because they are to die for!
Their chicken is good but...the menu looks better than it is. For instance the Don Chingon
is described as Crispy Chicken, Poblano Chile Queso Blanco, Smoked Bacon, Caramelized Onion, Loaded Guacamole, Brioche Bun.
Where was the guac and barely a drop of queso. The deviled eggs were not, they were hard boiled eggs cut in half with a dollop of something creamy on top. The presentation was great for the eggs but taste rules.
The only thing I can say that was good were the fried green toms.
Server was attentive but we won't we back or recommend this spot.
My favorite place
Birthday dinner. Was great!
I didn’t care for the food. Also they had no milk alternative.
Four of us dined and everyone loved their meal. Don't recall the dishes, but we each got something different and would order them all over again. Great place for a "cheat day"!
Great service by Anna and the best fried chicken I have ever had
I made a reservation for lunch on Friday. I asked for a booth, but they didn’t seem to recognize my request. We did get the last table available nevertheless. They were very busy, probably more than they anticipated with the nice weather. We ordered three ice teas two salads and a sandwich and we seem to wait more than 40 minutes for our food. I appreciate that they now have a grilled chicken option to top the salad versus only chicken tenders which are excellent. The food was very good but the service was exceptionally slow, I think it was just that they were very busy. It’s a fun festive atmosphere and continues to be consistent. I’ll be back!
Fun country cookin!
Excellent fried chicken and biscuits
So delicious!! I would fly back to Dallas just to eat there again :)
Second time to the restaurant and I will be back. I really like this place (food is really good and huge!) but it seemed they were understaffed for Sunday brunch. We had a reservation where I asked for a patio table, the host started to put us at a table right by the front door, inside. I asked to be on the patio, per reservation, and we were seated outside so all good. Then we waited. A manager came by and took drink orders for the waiter, and we waited some more for bar drinks. It took a while to get our order in but then when food came out it was really good. Also had to ask for condiments as S&P were not on the table. They had tables open but had people waiting outside on a 30+ minute wait.
It seemed someone maybe didn't show for work and everyone there was running hard but just not enough waitstaff. The atmosphere is great and since it was brunch, we were not in a huge hurry but just a bit frustrating. Add another person or two and everything would be 5 stars!
Food was amazing. Drinks were great! Waitress was friendly
This was my husband and I’s first time eating here and we loved it!!! The food was delicious and tasty. We loved the atmosphere and will definitely be back when we travel to Dallas again.
Great menu. Ask for patio dining if you want a quieter meal
Food was awesome. Loved waffle and the spicy maple syrup was fantastic.
We were able to enjoy our dinner here for the first time and we were pleasantly surprised. Amazing dinner and the service was even more so. The Yankee sandwich is amazing and the Mac n cheese was phenomenal. The Frose is AMAZING. just wish it had more of a berry flavor, still good tho. would could back again.
Everything was awesome. Food was off the chain! Highly recommended. The chicken’n waffle w/ jalapeño syrup is the explanation point! Ambiance is great. Service was excellent. So mad at myself for not knowing about this place sooner.
I will return...
Food is great. Biscuits are always awesome! Wait staff is sometimes slow. If the room is as crowded as it usually is, highly recommend not keeping the music equally loud. Crazy. Pretty overwhelming experience, noise - wise.
Chicken & Waffles are to die for 😊 can’t wait to go back.
Always a good weekend stop. The service is normally very good and the food is outstanding.
Tasty and unique food choices. Really enjoyed all of our options. It was a little loud for us to enjoy any meaningful conversation but we were seated next to some rowdy brunch groups! (And they were having the fun brunch!) I wouldn’t let it deter you from visiting. Just be aware, it isn’t a quiet dining experience.
Just amazing from walking in the door -until our meal was over!
Whistle Britches is fine. Its good for a neighborhood eatery but not as a destination restaurant.
I’m coming back here everyday!!!!
Our first visit, and everyone in our group was impressed. Most menu items do include fried chicken, but dont let it keep you from eating here. The appetizers were great, chicken and waffles were amazing.
Our food was great. Service was really good except for a hiccup in the timing of our appetizers and entrees. Great selection at the bar.
The Open Table reservation didn't work. Whistle Britches didn't have my reservation when we arrived and the hostess was not apologetic. She nonchalantly said the wait is only 20-25 minutes. Which actually turned out to be half an hour. There is no room to wait for a table. We had to take my 90 year old mother back to the car to sit down. If you want to ensure you have a reservation, just call the restaurant. The app doesn't work.
We had a good time and the chicken and waffles was good.
Hot chocolate was cold. Never got utensils, eggs weren’t cooked as instructed. Lots of issues during the experience
Small tables, itty bitty chairs, no place to park except across the street on freakin’ Preston Rd. Hardly any meat on the chicken. I’ve gotten meatier wings from Pizza Hut. Avoid this place!
Way too noisy. Silver chairs too narrow. Unusual breading on the chicken not to my taste. Slaw was very good and fried green tomatoes were also very good. Or server, Sophie, was excellent.
Service was great but the chicken appeared to have been cooked in old oil. The chicken was a dark brown rather than its usual light brown color.
Great food and service
Great! The cornbread was amazing.
Meeting with friends
Food took too long to get to our table, server was nice but she was not paying attention to drink refills
