Whistle Britches - Dallas
Book your next event with us
Small tables, itty bitty chairs, no place to park except across the street on freakin’ Preston Rd. Hardly any meat on the chicken. I’ve gotten meatier wings from Pizza Hut. Avoid this place!
Way too noisy. Silver chairs too narrow. Unusual breading on the chicken not to my taste. Slaw was very good and fried green tomatoes were also very good. Or server, Sophie, was excellent.
Service was great but the chicken appeared to have been cooked in old oil. The chicken was a dark brown rather than its usual light brown color.
Great food and service
Great! The cornbread was amazing.
Meeting with friends
Food took too long to get to our table, server was nice but she was not paying attention to drink refills
Wonderful food and service!
Great food - a little loud but wait staff was efficient and helpful. Food was wonderful - I am definitely coming back.
This was our 2nd visit to Whistle Britches and this visit was equally great! The food was excellent: two members of our party ordered the chorizo hash and loved it. The carafe of mimosas was generous on the champagne. Our server, Sophie, was FABULOUS! She was attentive without being intrusive, as well as being friendly and knowledgeable. She even brought me a to-go cup of fresh syrup with my to-go box. Those little above and beyond service elements are much appreciated.
Love the Nashville heat!
Good. The food was great
This is my neighborhood go to. All the staff is welcoming and the food is so delicious and never disappoints. Generally consider restaurant salads, no matter the price range, to be overpriced. Here they are inventive, are really green/no white stem filler and come in two sizes! Plus you can add 3-4 oz. of their brined chicken breast to make a hearty meal. With cooler weather, meatloaf is back on the dinner menu and it rivals Al Biernat's. M-F 4-7 there is a substantial happy hour nosh offering that will make you rethink ordering dinner. Creative bartenders; ask and you shall receive. Their biscuits are something to write home about. As is the chicken and waffle with jalapeno syrup. For you TV watching Foodies, a fav of Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives. Attire is casual.
Love Whistle Britches!!! I wish they would bring back not your mama's pancakes, this was one of my favorite dishes. They should sell that jalapeno syrup, it is amazing.
It was great. The food, drinks and service were all great.
Brunch with extended family, 10 people including kids. Good outing, great food. Highly recommend.
Love this place - the outdoor patio on a cold winter night - was absolutely comfortable and a bit quieter than the inside. Will definitely be back soon!
Whistle Britches has been a great addition to our neighborhood. The service is spectacular. So attentive - very unusual these days to have such wonderful service. The food is just plain yummy and the portions are HUGE. Easy to split. I highly recommend it for anyone. Very family friendly also. Has a really cool patio for spring, summer, fall.
All good, best chicken In Texas. Worth the drive and price.
It was my husbands and I first time out for brunch with our 5 week old! Everything was great! So great in fact we are bringing the whole family back soon! Best biscuits in town!
While the fried chicken is exceptional, I believe the chicken fried steak is the best in DFW.
Great tasting chicken. Chicken & waffles was one of the best I’ve had.
Whistle Britches is a go-to spot every weekend for me and my boyfriend. The waffle dressed like the french toast is our fave which comes with fruit, caramel, and some type of crunch granola. Its bomb!! The chicken strips are amazing, The best chicken on earth i believe. I go so much, they should have a rewards program lol... you gotta try it out for yourself and let me know what you think.
Great meat and atmosphere!
The location on Frankford is my favorite, except for the parking during brunch. Our reservations were for 11:45, arrived and seated with no wait. The server Juan took our drink order, he was busy and forgot about us and came later to take our food order. We noticed over 30 minutes had past for 2 orders of food. We reached out to the manager on duty Jessica who was pleasant. There was a breakdown somewhere, however the server did check with us to know we hadn't received our order. Our meal was taken care of on behalf of the manager. This was appreciated because the total wait time was 40 mins.
The food is always good. When we went for brunch on a Sunday, it was packed and the service was very slow. The waitstaff were great...just not enough people to cover all the tables.
One of the best spot together and enjoy delicious food.
Long wait for waitress to take our food order.
Our waitress was amazing, super patient and sweet. Mimosas were killer and the food was delicious. Will definitely be back!!!
Food was awesome. Best biscuit I ever had.
We went for the first time to celebrate my mom’s birthday. We went in the middle of the week and it was pretty dead. All of our food was good and their Happy Hour goes until 7, which was cool. Our server did a fine job but she wasn’t really very friendly and nobody really went out of the way to make it any more special than a regular dining experience. Perhaps we will try the newer location next time just to see if it has a more fun vibe. Overall though, it was a good experience. FYI, portions are HUGE!
We were a party of three. The main course came first for one of us before the appetizer. However this main course was incorrect. They kept bringing wrong main courses for all of us. Finally they were right for two of us and I had to wait 25 more minutes for my correct main course to arrive. By this time the other in my reservation have already finished eating. At the end they did not charge us for the appetizer, my main course and for one of the mimosa carafes. The food was absolutely delicious but the service was a terrible experience. The place was not even that busy that day.
This place was so got dang good! Get the Hot Dang chicken! Mimosas had me litty and the service was incredible! 10 out of 10!!
Best brunch ever!
Food was delicious as it always is but service was terrible on this visit. Biggest issue of the night: Our server forgot to bring one of our six meals (a salad) despite asking him for it 3 times over a 30 minute period. We then asked 3 different servers about it. They were all nice & helpful but by the time the dinner salad arrived, the rest of us had finished our meals so in a to-go box the salad went. Not the end of the world and we’ll of course be back.
You can drop down one review and see more about how we feel about this establishment. This visit was just as good if not better. Minal is the best. We were here for my daughters birthday tonight and to our surprise she brought out the most yummy chocolate pecan pie and ice cream for desert. We had no room left but we ate it anyway. Fantastic!
New items from last visit:
Chicken fried steak. Loved it.
Chicken and waffles. Wife said it was fantastic.
Son in Law loved the Hot/spicy chicken entree.
Chicken tenders, daughter loved the entree. Its enough food for 2 people. Doggy bag please!
I also want to give Zoey a shout out. I think she is the manager. She is personable, fun, attentive and is fantastic at her job. Makes you feel like you are at a family reunion. She and Minal add so much happiness to the dining experience here. How can you not love it?
OK, I am now officially a Whistle Britches Fatboy. A very very rare circumstance for me.
Was a great evening outside. There were quite a few kids running around undisciplined and not with their parents, but that’s typical for outdoor seating restaurants in this area.
Great food & service. Perfect night to enjoy the lights on the patio.
I am a foodie with high expectations when dining out. That said, you must dine at Whistle Britches. This was one of the most enjoyable dining experiences I've ever had. And believe me I've had many
Impeccable Service. Thank You Minal!
Every morsel of food and drink "To Die For"
Deviled Eggs and Fried Green Tomatoes were OMG so fantastic.
BLT Salad - Best ever
Fried Chicken and Tater Salad - Both Excellent
Biscuits- Heavenly. Ask for the honey butter and jam of the day!
I literally want to try everything on the menu after this experience.
Our waitress Minal was fantastic. Beautiful, funny and attentive.
I am no fanboy for any restaurant. However, I might be leaning that way for Whistle Britches.
A most enjoyable experience. Will we return? Absolutely, Hell yes and SOON!
