Unfortunately, the food did not live up to its $37.95 billing. Soup was cold(and was changed from Lobster bisque to Clam chowder), a tiny a mount of steak and shrimp were cooked on an outside BBQ served on plastic plates, with a chef handling seafood and steak, with no gloves and wiping them with a dirty rag. A small offering of season veg, was not filling. Dessert was a thin slice of cheesecake, the cobbler was angel cake with blueberries on top and a small amount of cream.
I wont mention the flies and the oil burners that stung my eyes.
On the plus side, the area is nice with some potential, the servers were attentive and the live music was good.
Great meal. A bit small portions for the money but very good. Outside ambiance an 5pm was nice. A few flies but server put lids on all of our wine glasses and we covered pitcher with napkin so we were fine.
Wow...what a find here in this area! I have this online and had one of the best Mother's Day that I've ever had with my family. Great food plus jazz/blues music with excellent service from the wait staff. It's a win-win and I'll be a patron from now on. I understand they have these concerts weekends, so it's NOT just for special occasions. The pricing is incredibly reasonable considering it is good food and music. A+++
This was a very nice dinner for Mother’s Day. I had the surf and turf which was wonderful, the steak was cooked just right and tender. I had the blueberry cobbler, which was good but wasn’t a true cobbler like I was expecting, more like a pound cake with blueberries. Overall wonderful atmosphere and will definitely be back.
We hardly ever saw our waitress. Drinks stayed empty for a long time. We ordered appetizers an they came out after dinner. They also put a automatic 20 percent tip on the bill that we felt we would had given 15-18 % not 20 for exceptional service.
Need to improve entertainment and getting rid of those pesky flies! Annoying to have a fly in your wine.
Enjoyed dinner with my wife for Mother's Day. Would have preferred the singer to be background music rather than thinking he was a show we came to watch. Any other day/evening would be great entertainment, but not appropriate for Mother's Day when we just wanted to talk and enjoy the ambiance of the winery atmosphere with background music.
I hate to give a less than 5-star review for a small business but the flies were so terrible we could not enjoy our drinks and meal. It's a very nice outdoor patio setting but if you go, request to sit in the screened porch and not outdoors - it might be better??
The outdoor setting itself and the music were great. Our waitstaff, Cookie, was fantastic!
It seemed all the staff was working hard to make for a lovely evening for all.
We will definitely go back in the late Fall when the flies are all dead. Would recommend with caveat about the flies.
Lovely live music, great food. But lots of flies, and there were not enough citronella candles to go around.
Our server was very sweet! I feel like she said her name was Cookie, but I couldn’t hear for sure. The ambience was amazing! Very romantic and simple. Nothing fancy, but we absolutely loved it. We were visiting from Tennessee and decided to go here for my boyfriend’s birthday, and we are so glad we did! We now want to make it a tradition every time we visit my grandparents in Florida. It will be a memory we will never forget. The ribeye was incredible and cooked perfectly. You have to give this place a try.
I must say as I drove up to the winery I was a bit skeptical. We were greeted immediately and were seated in the patio area where we had our wine tasting next to the koi pond. We ordered the cheddar cheese bialy. It was delicious! We had reservations for the steak menu and since we had time to spare we strolled around the blueberry vineyard. Ended up picking blueberries for our drive home. Had the steak dinner which was very good and bought a couple of sassy sangria wine to take back home! The ambiance at night is very good and they have live music playing while eating dinner! Would definitely return to pre-purchase wine if in the are in the near future!
Nice atmosphere. Food was decent. Wine was wonderful and staff was friendly. Will definitely return.
I hate to give a negative review because the servers were very nice and the ambiance was
The first visit I was not impressed with service . There was next to none hostess . With a reservation it took 25 minutes after our reservation to be seated . Other people were waiting longer and asked for manager who seems to have never came . Our waitress was awesome but that was really the only good thing . Food was ok a little overpriced . So for first time wasn’t really impressed not sure if I would return for a second visit .
Horrible service. Even with reservations it took over an hour after they gave a table away that they kept telling us was opening soon. They essentially kept forgetting about us. The staff was unprofessional in dealing with it, and only offered something small after all the troubles, and after I insisted. Not a place I would recommend.
First time but not the last time we'll be there. Excellent food and service. One of the best tasting steaks I've ever had. Vegetables and potato were great. Our only issue was the chocolate cake desert. It was ice cold and kind of dry. Would not order that again.
This was my first time dining at Whispering Oaks Winery and the live music was great along with the food, outdoor dining, and service. I liked it so much that I have booked my Class Reunion in the small pavilion for June 19. My classmates and I are going to have a fabulous time. The blueberries are ready to be picked and now is the perfect time to visit the Winery. Oh, and the Chocolate Wine was delicious!
When we arrived we were seated outside at a table with a dirty tablecloth. We asked to have it changed but only had it removed & left with no tablecloth.
We were inundated with flies...really bad. We asked to be moved to the screened porch which we were & things got better.
2 entrees were crossed off the menu as well as 2 deserts. So we were left with only a steak (suppose to be prime rib) or ahi tuna. However, the price remained the same.
We have frequented this restaurant in the past & have been very happy. Unfortunately for this special occasion (Easter) we brought a party of 8 and the experience left us embarrassed.
Great food but very small portions for almost $40.00 a plate
Usually love coming to Whispering Oaks Winery. The vibe was a little rushed and uncomfortable on Easter Sunday. The wine and the company was amazing!
We come to Whispering Oaks frequently. Typically we have good service and the food is always wonderful. However, the service was not good at our visit on April 3. We had reservations and got there about 10 minutes early. Our table was not ready by our reserved time, and then the staff acted like there would not be an outside table for us. Only when a staff member recognized us (our parents live behind the winery and come eat here regularly) and said we needed to be seated did the staff get us a table. 2 of the waitresses argued over seating and the waitress that got assigned to us did nothing but complain about how busy she was. It took her a long time to come get our order. She was not friendly to us, and only came to refill the drinks once. 3 of the 4 in our party had sweet tea, and when she did come to refill (halfway through our meal) said they were brewing a new pot so she brought out waters at our request. No problem, except that it was at least 15 minutes later when she was coming to see if we wanted dessert that we had to remind her about the tea and she brought back a pitcher (which she made clear she was irritated that she had to make). She was short if we asked for anything and said she was busy with a 10 top. That may be so, but we are paying customers as well and should not have had empty glasses for 20 minutes. We love the Winery, love the atmosphere and love the food, but our waitress really made this night unenjoyable with her bad attitude. We would not complain if she was just busy and it took a long time, but to act like we were an inconvenience was totally uncalled for. As locals and regular customers, we like to recommend the winery to anyone wanting a nice night out, but it worries me to do so if the staff is going to act like that.
Service was alright but the food was cold server even acknowledged this but continued to serve us the cold food. Other than that atmosphere was nice.
Nice place with an excellent atmosphere. Although they’re a long ways from everything they could be a real destination eatery. What’s holding them back is slow somewhat inexperienced staff and mediocre food. I’ve been back a few times but not sure I will again until they address the menu a bit. Steak dinners with live music shouldn’t be served with baked beans period. And no where should you be served cold lobster bisque even if it was from a can.
We were very disappointed in the lack of service and the temp of the food. Hot things were nit hot and cold wasnt cold
Great wine, friendly staff and live music. Cant beat that
This place was amazing.
The atmosphere great, staff was nice,
Clean, and the food was excellent. And the wine delicious. I would highly recommend this to any and everyone else looking for something private and Romantic
I was very disappointed that for $30 for a steak dinner the portions were tiny and cold. There was 3 of us and 2 ordered the steak. One was full size and the other was clearly half the size. When we asked about the small steak we were told that's just how it happens. The wine and service are great but we will return for the wine BUT NEVER EAT THERE AGAIN. After we left there we ended up going to another restaurant for a full and hot meal.
Love their wine, don't recommend for food. Too expensive for what you get. Ribeye was fatty, vegetables were overcooked. Music was poor. Disappointed they knew it was our 30th wedding anniversary and didn't acknowledge. Wanted to buy a few bottles of wine but no specials
My husband and I go at least once a month. We recently brought my sister in law here who was visiting from New Hampshire. She throughly enjoyed her visit. There’s nothing like sitting outside in a vineyard looking at the sky, listening to music and enjoying each other’s company all while drinking wine and enjoying amazing food.
The food was cold and steaks were not cooked to our specifications.
Been to whispering oaks many times. The portion are greatly reduced. The brown bread from the grill was not served....instead cold rolls. Service was good but other than that a huge di.
Good food and wine. A little pricey, but worth the experience.
Great evening full of delicious food, amazing wine, awesome music, and really good friends
Awesome staff, delicious meal and wine ! Lovely entertainer . A lovely outdoor dining experience
Great hidden gem. The food was simple but tasty and fresh. The wine flight was a great way to try all of their various wines. Live music was phenomenal.
This was our first time to Whispering Oaks and it did not disappoint! The steaks were perfectly cooked and the music from Mike Webb was amazing. We will definitely be back and hope to see Mike Webb playing again soon.
Very unique outdoor dining experience under the stars great service
food and entertainment
A nice place to have dinner. The staff was friendly.
First we were seated outside in front of a noisy fan. We moved to a different table and then the fan was turned off for the next group. We ordered 4 flights of wine. Server put the glasses on our table with her bare fingers on the tops of all the glasses. Then we never saw our waitress again. Food was good but service was horrendous.
Great. Everything made us feel very welcome. Ahi Tuna excellent. Filet dinner enjoyable.
Service was excellent. Everyone we had contact with was very friendly.
