The pictures made it seem something much different than our experience. Made reservations but when we arrived there was only two other patrons inside. Bartender notified us over a college football game on the tv that we can sit anywhere. We chose a table my the bar and the table was very wobbly. We put a napkin under a leg to stop that. The menu selection is very small, and when the waitress came to take our order told us 4 items (1 appetizer and 3 main dishes) were not available and that “they are getting a new menu”. I ordered a Caesar salad with chicken. The dressing came on the side in little condiment cups. The chicken was unseasoned, and about 20 stale croutons. There was no soap or paper towels in the ladies restroom. A small stack of paper napkins in its place. Food was subpar, drinks are overpriced, service was non existent. If the name is going to say Kitchen, the kitchen needs to be better. Will not eat here again. 0/10 recommend.
We sat near the kitchen and were subject to a long conversation between off duty crew members and the chefs. Not the best atmosphere. Food was excellent.
Made reservations but still has to wait on a clean table. Out of many items on menu including sweet tea. Never received refills once seated. Service was terrible & the restaurant automatically adds gratitude to the bill. I was charged $18 for lousy service. Will never go to this restaurant again
Lamb burger wasn’t well seasoned and was a bit over cooked. Was disappointed because last time the burger was cooked perfectly. Whiskey pairing was fabulous, however. Hence the 3 stars. Maybe just a bad day, hopefully.
The environment looked very entertaining but the service was terrible. Whenever you have to go to the server to get service after you've been sitting at a table for over 10 mins is bad. I received my food but no utensils or condiments. Had to ask for things to complete my meal that should have come before my food arrived. Then I over heard my waitress complaining about her pay and kind of figured out why she wasn't motivated to work. I'd still recommend this place. Only hope they hire some newly motivated people.
Amazing food, amazing service, ama ing atmosphere. We will definitely be back...A LOT!!
Its great that closes late
Lighting was very dark, couldn’t see the menu. They were out of an app, service was super slow. Got way too many French fries that were wasted. Not worth the price of items on the menu. Didn’t realize this was part of a hotel and super small. Disappointing. Won’t be coming back.
I am not able to say anything positive about the restaurant due to the fact that even an hour after my reservation time, we were not seated and dismissed by staff when asked what was the hold up. Later told I should have made a reservation, when I stated I had, the staff member then said, “oh well” and seated others who had a later reservation. Being short staffed is no excuse for the way the entire staff acted.
The drinks and Whiskey Wings were very good. We’ll be returning so we can try the Brent’s Southern Rolls.
Was expecting better service and seating, was disappointed with both. The food was decent not great, me and my wife probably won't be visiting again
The reason for this rating is simple, poor customer experience. They sat me and then we had to wait 20 min before we were able to order. I understand short staffed.. Then as we were ordering the kept saying we are out of this and that at 8pm on a Friday, wow. Then my drink was wrong. The they had the nerve to tell me that because me and my date spent $100 or more that we were automatically charged at 22% gratuity. 2 people not even a group. This ruined it. Then the manager said that because people ran up bar tab and didn't tip in the past, that this was the owner's new policy to automatically charge current customers for past issues. I won't be back.
The collard greens were so salty that a salt lover like me couldn’t eat them. The potatoes had no garlic seasoning as it quoted in the menu. The okra was fried but as soon as you touched it the breading came off. We had to ask what sauces went with what. The ribeye didn’t have an ounce of seasoning and the whiskey butter was not anywhere in sight on the ribeye. The service was good but they’re short handed which they inform you as you walk in. The green beans were out of a can and lacked flavor also. The waitress was very friendly and knowledgeable. This is not an upscale restaurant as it may state.
We loved the food and decor and only disappointed there were no dessert options and no other people!!
Great fried green tomatoes. The honey chicken was wonderful. Very friendly service.
We sat for 2 hours and when dinner was finally brought out for 2 of the four guess The food just was thrown on the plate. And the waitress had the audacity to say to the customer “there wasn’t any more mashed potatoes so we gave you string beans”. We ended up paying for the appetizers and drinks and leaving. Horrible experience!!!!
Read mixed reviews but decided to try it. Was a little chilly from the A/C and the music a bit loud. The wait staff was wonderful. the food was great. I had a burger with fries and mac and cheese. Everyone at my table was eating my fries - they were that good. I am definitely returning.
Cannot recommend this restaurant. They cannot make a drink. Our table ordered three mixed drinks directly off of their drink list, had to send one back because it was awful and didn't finish the other two. The food is just ok, the menu is sparse, and everything is fried.
The note on the door indicated that they were short staffed. This was not an issue as the service was fine.
What was both surprising and inappropriate was that they included a 25% gratuity for a party of 4. This was not mentioned ahead of time nor with the reservation. I don't mind tipping above 20% given the pandemic, but I am not comfortable with this being included for me especially given that our experience was less than stellar.
When making the reservation, I was notified that a 'no show' would result in a $10 charge. This seems reasonable if their business would be impacted, but it just seems like a money grab (like the 25% gratuity.
SO, they got their revenue and 25% gratuity, but I won't be going back and won't recommend it.
Hostess would not let me inside until I told her I made reservations. It was for 5 and It was already 5. The weather was very bad, Raining like cats and dogs. She still said the restaurant was closed. She had a serious attitude problem. First time there and I don't know whether I will go back. It ruined my Birthday, I was all wet by the time I got in. People were already in sitting at the bar.
Despite a confirmed opentable reservation, when we arrived at the designated time the restaurant was closed.
We actually ate at the Nashville location. I had made the reservation for the wrong location while visiting Nashville. The service was great, but the food was just typical bar food. We struggled finding great food in Nashville unfortunately. Bar food is great, but this was so so food. My shrimp & grits were the worst I’ve come by throughout my life.
Graduation commencement ceremony dinner
Staying overnight in town. Food was terrible at best, we ordered ribeye steak, meat was thin and chewy, garlic mashed potato had no garlic flavor in it and the green beans are worse than canned if that was possible. Honestly this place is a bar not a restaurant. Go there to drink but eat elsewhere.
The wings were amazing!!!!! Super quiet at the time that we went and definitely cannot wait to come back
Food was very average. For a whiskey bar, the cocktails were not well balanced. Too much simple syrup. Waitress seemed disorganized.
Went on a Saturday night and service was terrible. Manager said head chef had 3 blow outs with his family in the car so he couldn’t make it . The steak was overcooked and no where close to worth 34.00. My shrimp and grits was ok except the tails were still on the shrimp. I understand everyone is short staffed and could’ve dealt with the service but the meals being subpar was to much. Manager offered to get a round of drinks which we had to ask for when the check came. 130.00 dollars I should’ve burned.
Highly recommend the sweet tea pork loin (collard greens were perfectly seasoned), fried okra, and the Revolver cocktail. Beautiful restaurant with the most comfortable chairs of any I’ve been to. Very welcoming staff and a fun yet sophisticated atmosphere. The pastry chef was out, so dessert options were limited to homemade ice cream, and the restaurant was out of coffee. Other than the dessert disappointment, this was a 5 star dinner. I look forward to returning and will recommend to friends.
My date was impressed where I took her. So impressed we already scheduled another date
All around great experience
To start with the menu at the restaurant was only about half of what was showing on the website Took over 1.5 hours to get our appetizer and then they brought our meals 5 minutes later . Steak was ordered as medium came out as extremely rare. Drinks were under poured. Lousy service, poor food, skimpy drinks, over priced. One and done for this place
the place has not been open long. There was no uniform as far as the servers. Our sever said she was called in, and she definitely looked like she came straight in lounge wear. The restaurant is in a new Marriott hotel. There were not very many people, which should have warned us from the start, yet service was very slow. We had the burger which made my son sick. No taste in the mac and cheese. Husband's steak was tough and not much flavor. My shrimp on Cesar salad was okay. The food was expensive for quality we received. Would never suggest. It was graduation weekend and this was one of two places available to make reservations. There is a Whiskey Kitchen in Nashville TN, where we live, and it is very good!
We are so sorry for your bad experience. We have zero affiliate with and whiskey kitchen. Hope you try us again so we can make it up to yall.
The appetizers was good. I requested a well done pork chop and it was red.
2 of 4 meals were great. Both steaks were subpar. Appetizers were excellent. Bar was fantastic
Staff unorganized and not familiar with menu items when asked. Menu was scaled down and not as listed on website. Asked for a dinner napkin and was told all they had were cocktail napkins. I was unable to eat the fish I ordered. It has the potential to be a nice restaurant at some point, but they’re not there yet.
Great atmosphere, food was delicious and the service was amazing!
The drinks and meals were delicious. Really enjoyed our return visit and plan to go back.
Very nice spot. Food was great, atmosphere great and service was great
I was prepared to be underwhelmed...boy was I wrong. My husband had the wings and asked for them to be crispy, they were just the right amount of crispy and the dry rub seasoning was excellent.
I had the porkchops, they were cooked perfectly, the mac and cheese was creamy and the noodles al dente, the collards were frozen collards but still very tastey.
I'm from Charlotte, NC and can't wait to go back to Columbia, SC for more Whiskey Kitchen! Thanks
Food is standard southern fair. Service is good. Ambiance is good.
