We were there for our second annual Thanksgiving lunch. We were welcomed at the door and went to sit outside in the shade. Our waiter was very attentive, drinks were very good and food was just as we were hoping for. Only downside was the plastic glassware.

They were amazing! We had a VERY large group after a lacrosse tournament and they were able to get us several tables on the beach together. Our server did a great job taking care of our large group and we all really enjoyed the water views! I would definitely recommend this restaurant!

The scenery is nice at whiskey Joe’s, but my friend had the gumbo, and the okra was not cooked well enough, so it was very slimy. I had grilled shrimp, and they were salty. Another friend had those shrimp tacos, and she said they were good.

We had to wait a long time for our food. Which was surprise us once the resists not very full. Some members of our group said that their entrees were not even warm when delivered to the table. Some said their food tasted “just okay”. They did not mention this to staff because they did not want to wait for. We orders since we’d already waited quite a while. One person did ask the waitperson for a new order of hot fries and those were corrected. Compliments to our waitperson who was attentive and friendly. The setting is very nice outdoors on the river.

Very disappointed in the food. Ordered chips and queso and the cheese was watery. Burger okay, fries cold. Firecracker shrimp tacos okay very little slaw and shrimp on tacos, blackened chicken sandwich awful served with cold fries. Frozen drinks worst ever. Overall I would not return. Service staff was the best part of experience. This place on a Friday night should be packed but the food and drinks are terrible. I can go anywhere else and get a better meal.

I expected the food to be tastier. Cajun spices should never be bland. None of the food was outstanding although the prices were. We won't be returning. In their favor--The Ultimate Pina Colada--for $17.00 -- Absolutely Amazing. Best I have ever tasted. Actually worth that price but you won't get a buzz. It is all about the melding flavors of pineapple, coconut, and sugar.

We frequently choose Whiskey Joe's when we want to enjoy a good meal in a location with casual waterfront atmosphere. Whether we have lunch or dinner, we always enjoy ourselves. On a nice day, we like to sit at the outside bar for lunch or, if we have children with us, choose a table on the beach. For dinner we typically take a table on the outside deck except on really hot days, in which event we stay inside. The food is consistently good. We have our favorites (shrimp tacos, oysters, gumbo) but we are never afraid to try something different because everything is tasty and prepared well. Of course, you can't beat the location right on the Manatee River. It's one of the few restaurants where you can arrive by boat and have a secure mooring.

Except for the parking issue we enjoyed it. I suspect it will get busier when construction if finished. Will be going back. Nice place to bring guests for the Florida vibe.

Food was very average. My grouper sandwich was raw in some places, but when cooked properly had good flavor. Wife had fish tacos, where the fish was dry and overall very little flavor despite corn and sauce added to the mix. Had a Pina Colada and if there was rum in it, could not tell. Overall, location was amazing, our server was excellent, but everything else was just fair.

Beautiful setting on the Manatee River. We ate outside, both times on the man made beach. Foods is good. My husband had the steak. For the cost of it, it should have come with a salad. Definitely go there in the evening time. Good place for children too. They can play in the sand.

Excellent service. Noise level was ridiculously high. Could not have normal conversation across the table. Asked to have the level turned down and it was immediately addressed. First time at Whiskey Joe’s. I would definitely go back and recommend it to my friends

Food was good. Not great. Just not enough seasoning. Waitress was wonderful. Lovely restaurant on the water with tables and chairs 🪑 n the sand and an outside bar. You can eat inside or outside. We chose inside since it’s so effin’ hot! Went outside for a drink afterwards.
