Whiskey Barrel Lounge is Happy Valleys premier craft cocktail lounge & whiskey bar. With a selection of over 300 whiskeys from around the world there is truly something for everyone. Located downstairs in The Valley Public House. We offer an upscale lounge menu that changes frequently with seasonal and daily specials. We have a beautiful and shaded patio for outdoor dining- open seasonally weather permitting. We are open for Happy Hour from 4pm to 5pm and then Dinner from 5pm to closing, Tuesday through Saturday. Minors are allowed. We are well equipped to host large parties and even boast a private event space capable of seating up to 70 guests, 20% gratuity applied to parties of 8 or more.

    Appetizers and drinks were great. Wife loved her burger as well as her mixed drink (she’s not a bourbon fan normally). My steak turned out more like roast beef. This was the only disappointing part of our first visit. I don’t mind paying for a good steak but this was not worth it at all. Way over cooked.

    The food was tasty, but it wasn’t hot when delivered to the table. My wife ordered the special, which was advertised as having a “variety” of vegetables. This was false when it only had sliced squash and nothing else. To top it off, the portions were smaller than what would be expected in relation to the cost.

    At our arrival time it was a bit noisy. This could be due to the happy hour was just ending. Asked the waitress if she could not rush our visit but our guests felt a bit rushed. We had the table for 3 hours but we were served quickly. Asked if we wanted to order our dinner when our appetizers were served. That should have been further apart. We were out of there in 11/2 hours. Our guests felt rushed. As always the food was very good. The other server was wonderful and quite pleasant.

    Will NOT go back. Food is good, nice place. Waitress was told in person who was to get the bill and did not follow through with her word and then laughed at me when I called her out on it. We all have our hot spots and this waitress hit mine . . I do not tolerate liars.

    CRAB CACIO E PEPE was AMAZING! Could be my favorite dish EVER! DUNGENESS CAB, SPAGHETTI, BUTTER SAUCE, PECORINO ROMANO, CRACKED PEPPER, CHERRY TOMATO, SCALLIONS, BREADCRUMBS, GRILLED SOURDOUGH Service is always up and above! Atmosphere is wonderful. Food is off the charts!

    The photos on website about ambience are quite misleading. It is nothing like a speakeasy. The lights could be dimmer. The servers would be loud, and shouting across the restaurant. Thankfully our server was friendly and knowledgeable in cocktails and food. Food was okay. I’ve had better old fashions and manhattans. Probably won’t return.

    We were there on New Years Eve. There was a price fix menu that evening which was fine, however what was delivered for the increased pricing was way overcharged. My wifes salad was tiny, the main portions, I had a crab pasta dish and my wife had chicken parm were nothing special. The deserts especially the Creme Brule while tasting fine were again ridiculously small. This is so unfortunate as the atmosphere is wonderful, perfect for a romantic dinner. I'd give it another chance just to see if the regular menu food that is offered is better.

    Enjoyed happy hour with friends mid week. Ambiance was great for the holidays and our waiter couldn’t have been better. When I asked him to bring me the most favorite drink in the house, he didn’t disappoint! I don’t know the name but it had passion fruit and a side of Prosecco! Delicious!

    Our Tuesday happy hour/dinner timing was perfect at 4:45pm. Our server John was very helpful a pleasure to speak with. My plate was creamy spaghetti with broccoli, and it was dry. John suggested to add Salmon and that was fantastic! My wife's chicken parm was great. My Dad's fillet mignon was perfect so he was really happy. Drinks were as expected and the pricing also. We spoke with Kayla for a bit about whiskey flights and she was very knowledgeable and very pleasant to chat with. We are very pleased to have an Upscale restaurant in Happy Valley and will return regularly. Thank you Whiskey Barrel.!

    My husband and I brought a large group for our last-minute wedding anniversary celebration. We could not have picked a better place! We were treated like royalty, with cute "Happy Anniversary!" signs, complimentary champagne, and priority for desserts. They treated the whole table like family and took care of us so well. The entire night was perfect. On top of all that, the chef/kitchen staff are genius. We are French food connoisseurs, and their food was spectacular. The steak au poivre, steak frites, mashed potatoes, etc. etc. were all to-die for. We have some picky eaters in our group, and THEY were ranting and raving about the delicious food. Our large family is very happy to have a new spot to go to for big family events. We will be back, hopefully soon. Thank you all for the amazing experience!

    We loved the ambiance and the Santa pictures turned out so beautiful. The drinks and cookies were delicious and the host was so attentive and gracious. The open tab system was very convenient and efficient. Our only complaint was the disorganization and service at the bar. The 2 people working there seemed confused and ordering was chaotic. My husband did not have a pleasant interaction at the bar. I would love to attend this event again next year and the experience could be improved if the servers were more attentive and there were clear directions on where to stand in line for ordering and picking up food. All that said the Whiskey Barrel Lounge was a very warm and inviting place.

    I had eaten here a few times on the patio, but this was my first time inside the lounge. I brought a date here from the Seattle area instead of going in to Portland. We loved the ambiance, the many whiskey drink options and the food was delicious. Our waitress, while efficient, offered no suggestions, and overall seemed pretty awkward. It was a very business Wednesday night, so maybe that affected the experience.
