Whiskey & Oyster
Went there for Sunday brunch...great selection of breakfast as well as lunch items. All food was delicious, and the service was perfect.
Some of the booths are way too small. The table are too narrow which means you are squeezed in too much.
Our dining experience was excellent at Whiskey and Oysters. The seafood was fresh and delicious. The menu was generous with selections for every palate. The service and ambiance were truly wonderful. We will definitely be making this place a go to favorite.
First time visiting this restaurant and the atmosphere was calming and the service from the guys at the oyster bar was superb! Oyster were fresh and offered a good variety!
Great meal and some tasty cocktails also. Excellent service. Great if you have to eat gluten-free.
We dined at Whiskey and Oyster on Saturday evening and we ordered the Lobster Fries which was a Starter since I've read that it was excellent. We didn't think it was worth $18 but it was unique. The Seafood Cobb salad was large and tasty. The hubs ordered the lobster roll with sweet potato fries and he seemed to enjoy it very much. The place is energetic - it was crowded on Saturday around 6-7 pm. The servers were knowledgeable and efficient.
Great food, good menu choices, friendly service. We’ll be back!!
The crabcakes and sweet potato fries were perfect.
Great food and great Service.
Outstanding food and value with free parking in lot behind the restaurant.
Great menu and ambiance.
Birthday/Valentine's dinner at Whiskey & Oyster. Ambiance was nice, great menu, not overwhelming. I enjoyed the oysters and creme brulee.
I loved it, only thing that was a little uncomfortable, I'm a big guy and the booths were tight and the tables were very close together. Everything else was 5 star!!
A great Valentine Day dinner!
But the Bouillabaisse had very little in it and even less flavor.
Good food and environment.
Food, drinks, and service were great. It was our first time tying this spot. We will be back.
The service, are waiter was rushing us to take r food. Then one r food came late after we finish with everything
We enjoyed the beautiful decor & wonderful food. Came for Sunday brunch & there is plenty of parking in the garage. Will definitely be back.
This restaurant has great food, service, and ambiance.
Beautiful restaurant. Very friendly staff and delicious food. Spacious so no problem with noise.
Zack was great server and menu advisor. Everything we had was good (including some specials that were on trial).
Met an out of town friend for dinner. Food was great, drink was delicious. Only down side was that they sat us in a booth right next to the bar area. It was a bit loud but not too crazy.
Great food. Really great food. The bang bang cauliflower was unexpectedly good. Good service but slow. Long gaps between visits. Tables and booths are a little narrow making it a little awkward to sit directly across from someone without them getting kicked in the shins.
The she crab soup was delicious spiced just right. The Asian style cauliflower
appetizer was excellent. Rockfish was very good. The rockfish could have been cooked a little less and the salmon a little more. The beignets were the melt-in-your mouth variety.
The physical space is beautiful. Service was friendly and professional.
A bit of a hidden gem in the midst of the tall buildings of the Carlyle development. It has free underground parking, but that could be made a little more obvious.
We will return.
The food was excellent. Very fresh and I would go back.
We had the restaurant week menu and everything was fantastic. We had three starters, the duck spring rolls, she crab soup and kung pao cauliflower. They were all delicious but the cauliflower was outstanding and I would definitely get that again. Next we had the chicken linguini and shrimp and grits. Both were outstanding. Finally for dessert we had the creme brulee and flourless chocolate cake. The chocolate cake was very decadent and rich so if you like rich desserts that's the one for you. I enjoyed the creme brulee because it was well balanced and not too sweet.
You need to go! We had their fried and grilled oysters along with a cocktail to start and all was so good. Next we had the Restaurant Week specials and the chef hit it out of the park. It was nice too that the owner, Michael came around and checked in with the guests. We will be back and will bring our friends & family!!
Great food, great service, great ambiance!
The food was great. We went during restaurant week to try it and now we are hooked. Only issue we had was one of the creme burlees was not set. The vibe and the whiskey selection was excellent.
The maple shrimp and grits were excellent. The service was good.
First time here. I had the crab cake sandwich and it was perfect! Excellent crab on a delicious bun with a beautiful sauce. I had the flourless chocolate cake for dessert. Lets be real and just call it fudge! Yummy!
My server, Rayvon, was excellent. Great recommendations and checked in at timely intervals.
Great atmosphere. Friendly bar/wait staff but they need training - made 3 significant errors that could have been avoided. Restaurant was out of clams/clam chowder. Happy hour is great!
We loved this place, the food and service was great.
Stopped in for restaurant week and were able to enjoy happy hour oyster special and then restaurant week menu. Everything was delicious, especially the rockfish and the shrimp & grits. Beignets were also yummy! Staff were friendly and attentive. Space was lovely and parking was easy. Had a chance to chat with the chef who told us they will be doing an oyster tour/frequent visitor program soon. Definitely looking forward to that! Will definitely be back soon!
We decided to give them a try during restaurant week and we were very pleased. Our server was knowledgeable and attentive but not annoying, the food was delicious and great portion sizes. The Kung Pao cauliflower appetizer was big enough for a meal, and so tasty with just the right kick. The rockfish and shrimp and grits entrees were also quite good. And the star of the night were the desserts- beignets and flourless chocolate cake, oh my! Also their Old Fashioned is just to my liking, a tad sweet and very smooth. We will absolutely be back! As a very nice touch, the owner came around and chatted with all the diners, very welcoming.
Just perfect to meet friends
A new favorite restaurant for me! Adjacent to Old Town in Alexandria’s Carlyle area (easy parking in the evening), Whiskey and Oyster has a bright and open design with two large bar areas. Extensive whiskey selection. For diners there are comfy booths that also serve to limit noise from the bars. Love the menu — everything from raw bar selections and appetizers (Kung Pao cauliflower and Duck Spring Rolls were especially yummy)to salads, soups and sandwiches (e,g,, burgers, crab cake, po’ boy), and pasta and full dinner options. Service is very good/excellent — servers are very knowledgeable about menu items, courteous and efficient. On my most recent visit they appeared to be short-staffed, which delayed service somewhat, but not enough to be bothersome for us. Kitchen staff and the owner helped get the food out and make sure diners were happy and getting what they needed/wanted. This is a well-managed operation! Great addition to the Old Town restaurant scene. I will keep returning to Whiskey and Oyster!
The service was exceptionally and food was very tasty
Food was delicious and oysters were superb. Looking forward to going back!
