The drinks were phenomenal, food was great, and was perfect for a date spot. The portions were a little small for the price point, but overall we had a wonderful time there and would go again for sure!

Great food! Recommend chicken and waffles and the burger. Cocktails are very good, too. We were there in early November 2020 and I wish they had heating lamps for outdoor dining.

Cocktails and food were great. We dined outside due to the pandemic restrictions, and unfortunately some places just aren’t in areas where that’s a great experience. We were right next to a heavily trafficked bike path, bikes were constantly whizzing by and runners passing right by you - plus ubers constantly pulling up and idling at the curb. Looking forward to going back when we can eat indoors and explore the full menu.

Service was great. Small menu with a good variety of options. The food was well prepared and had lots of flavor. The tables were properly distanced.

Came to dinner with my brother and sister. Everything was delicious! We each had a drink and the prix-fixe dinner. My sister said it was one of the best burgers she’d ever had, and my roasted squash appetizer was amazing. Would recommend for date night or a special occasion. It’s a small space so not a good idea for large groups. But we had a great experience.

It’s been way to loud for such a small place and the coffee options could be better but we enjoyed our stay.

Delicious drinks and appetizers. Entrees were just OK. Service was wonderful. Very tiny place and you must be comfortable with people bumping into you. Other than that, it was lovely.

We came to While We Were Young on Saturday afternoon for a brunch. The ambience was absolutely amazing. Everything we ordered tasted fabulous. I highly recommend the chicken and waffle. The cocktails are too die for. They are so pretty and yet delicious. We are coming back here this month again for sure!!

Perfect little place for brunch! Restaurant is much smaller than it looks online so you will end up sitting very close to your neighbors, but still such a great spot. Very aesthetically pleasing, great for the perfect instagram.

Food was great, service was amazing and the decor was cute!

$45 for entree and appetizer was good but drinks and anything other than the $45 special is extremely overpriced. Cocktails are good and come in cool glasses but not worth the $18 per drink. Overall the vibe is really cute and great for girls night but it is a bit overpriced.

We had a wonderful time! I highly recommend the cocktails from their drink menu, each of which appear to come in glassware tailored to that particular drink. My honey drink arrived in a honey pot / beehive, while my wife’s apple cocktail came in a glass shaped like the fruit, complete with leaf garnish. The staff was incredibly friendly, so much so that we cannot wait to be back again.

Honestly a bit underwhelmed by While We Were Young. The prix fix concept was cute, but no vegan entrees were listed (or offered). The drinks looks cute but small/over priced (not crazy for New York but still). Likewise the plates were small, just like the space. Cute decor and really great service but I’m just not excited to return anytime soon. Food was fine, but again small and $$$ for what it is.

We accidentally made a reservation not realizing that for “just drinks” they take walk ins’ only. I noticed this day of, and the cancellation fee is $35/person within 12 hours of the reservation. We arrived early to explain the situation to the host who was really accommodating of us. We ended up staying for multiple cocktails and ordering the 3/$33 sides which were absolutely delicious. The bartender was fantastic. Great conversation and cocktails. Would definitely come back had such a nice time.

It was my Birthday and the Bartender surprised me with a dessert and candle, it was so sweet!

Absolutely loved the aesthetic in this place. It’s really small and intimate but great if you’re having a one on one with your girlfriend. Make a reservation especially for brunch!!! The brunch is so good and the drinks are sooo cute. My waiter accidentally gave me the wrong entree (and I forgot so I ate it) but it was still delicious! I mentioned it to them so that my bill wouldn’t have the wrong thing and they offered us a drink or food on the house so that we could leave happy. We asked for truffle fries and omg. Will be back for more!!

It was okay. Nothing crazy. Plus make sure you read their website “rules.” We just wanted drinks and appetizers to share and had to order $35 worth of food each... a shame. Probably won’t go back.

Had a great time celebrating my birthday brunch here! It’s a beautiful place that is very intimate as it only seats about 15 people at a time. Be sure your party arrives as close to on time as possible as they book tables on a schedule, and turn over tables every 1.5 hour or so. Drinks were beautiful and the food was tasty. The service was excellent. I would definitely visit again the next time I’m in NYC

While We Were Young is a staple in my NYC brunching! The staff is so down to earth and instantly make you feel comfortable and welcome. The food is time and time again super delicious and flavorful. Highly recommended for all :)
